Saul was born in the rugged wilderness north of the Teekon Wilds, somewhere that would have been close to the Alaskan/Canadian border. He was born alongside a brother, Karn, who was as large and powerful as Saul but instead of black was a mix of lighter greys. The two were abandoned as young pups, their mother did not want them as they were the outcome of an unwelcome breeding from a lone male who had taken her in the night when she had strayed too far from her pack.

Left to their own devices, burned by the only family they had in the world, the two brothers grew into hostile wolves full of bitterness and hate. They were very close as they were the only relationship each of them had for the first two years of life. They managed to survive and used team work to take down larger prey to sustain their growing bodies and turn them into powerful brutes. Last winter, a massive storm hit while the brothers were roaming and the two became separated in the white out. Too far to catch each other's scent, too far to hear a howl on the wind, they were lost to each other.

Since then Saul has roamed further south on his own, making his way unknowingly into the Teekon area where he would now find himself in a whole new world of wolves.
