Born in a nowhere place called Crooked Creek to a pair of young, inexperienced, and idealistic wolves. He learned quickly that the universe is an indifferent place, filled with chaos, danger, beauty and emptiness. He adapted (his siblings could not, and wound up dead as a result). Given the first opportunity Gideon dispersed from his parents—holding very little love for them, and certainly an absence of loyalty—while he sought out greener pastures.
