Profile of Elve: Details
Appearance
"A broken bird with feathers of gold."

Proportions:
Height: 1.1 ft at shoulder
Length: 1.3 ft including tail
Weight: 70 lbs

Scent:
Spring rain and lavender.

It's unclear what mixture swirled together to produce the assemblage that is Elve but to gaze upon her is to almost immediately notice that she is not entirely lupine:

A delicate, bird-boned frame has been imparted upon the Sami, graced with but the barest hints of a wiry musculature. Long legs and a highly tucked, gamine waist betray her canine lineage. Slight, willowish curves are hidden behind long feathery tufts of soft fur.

Her coat of cream is marked only by the various piebald patches of golden honey and sable.

A thick ruff extends along her shoulders, wild and unkempt despite Elve's best attempts to tame it; this ruff has since become matted into clumped locs that extend partially along her spine that lend a vaguely feral look to the fae. Her fur is noteably longer about her joints (elbows and hocks) and a bottle brush tail sweeps the ground regally.

Longer than average ears and lashes - alongside a dainty tapering muzzle - cast a feminine, innocent look to her features that is only accentuated by doe eyes the color of the sea.

The woman is young yet and mostly free of scars - save for a cluster of the mars on the right half of her countenance. This ear is shredded, ragged in appearance. A few slashes span across her pale cheek to just barely miss her eye where someone has obviously raked their claws across her face. This blemish seems to bow the woman's head, to curl her shoulders inward - as if she wishes to go unseen.

Totem: Caribou
Beliefs: animism, shamanism, spiritual magick.

A quiet, introspective individual. New to the outside world and its inhabitants, she is understandably cautious in all endeavors. Submissive, soft-spoken, and instinctive.

Notes:
- Relies heavily on body language.
- Empathetic, intuitive.
- A devoted follower of her family's pagan faith and patriarchal culture.
- Low self-esteem. Raised by people who did not take kindly to difference and harbored prejudice against lower canids, Elve was a rare exception in an elitist class of lupines. The half-breed grew to view herself as small, weak, and ugly - a girl who would grow into an unwanted spinster, unable to find a male willing to take her to wife.

Skills:
- Fishing
Having been reared near the coasts and attended the season's fish drives since she could walk, Elve is an adroit swimmer and fisher. (Threads: I)

- Herding & Animal husbandry
The wolves of Sapmi are almost exclusively known for their nomadic lifestyle, following and tending to the caribou of the region. Elve's family was no different and she has experience in caring for/culling herds.

- Trapping
Women are forbidden to hunt in Elve's culture yet a desire to learn burned within the girl from a young age. She taught herself how to catch small game by listening to the men weave tales of times spent hunting but it is a skill she paid for dearly. (Threads: I)

- Healing
Taken in by her adoptive lupine mother at a young age, the woman knew her foreign daughter would grow to be a burden upon her future clan unless she was taught an art of some use. Elve was schooled by her mother, who was a renowned Medicine Woman of an established bloodline, in the ways of healing and shamanism.

- Domestic skills
Raised to someday marry and be a suitable wife, Elve is a caretaker and a homemaker. She is well versed in keeping a den clean and inviting, preparing meals, and rearing children. (Threads: II)

Weaknesses:
- Combat
The elf has always been spry, slender, breakable. It has never been in the cards for her to become a warrior.

- Endurance
The wolfdog is lacking in stamina though she does make up for this with her speed. The fae is a sprinter and can cover long distances rather quickly.

Trades:
Medicine Woman:
(former occupation) Trained by Hessía, a Sami healer of renowned status and an infallible bloodline, in the healing arts, Elve was a Medicine Woman of the Sami people. She accrued some status of her own through this position and was the highest ranked woman of Raikseiû's clan. Her responsibilities involved caring for the ill/injured, tending to the women's maladies, and watching over the infirm as well as attending to the matters of a spiritual nature.

Caregiver:
(aspiring) Wolves who possess a great deal of empathy, a drive to help others and an affinity for nurturing tend to make excellent Caregivers. Caregivers are wolves who, in one way or another, take care of their pack mates. Whether it be by tending wounds and aiding the ill, looking after the pack's youngest and oldest members, lending a shoulder for a wounded companion to lean on or aiding pregnant females in the pack, Caregivers are the heart of the pack. Naturalist:
(aspiring)
Naturalists are so in tune with the natural world that at times, the plants, stones and weather are more interesting to them than other wolves. Rumours abound that these wolves can hear rocks, speak with rivers, conjure spirits and read the skies like body language. While these rumours are exaggeration, every Naturalist has unparalleled knowledge of the natural world, knowledge that at times verges on the supernatural, and are perpetually curious about natural phenomena. Naturalists are the minds of the pack. (0/5)

Biography
Orphan

Born to the rapacious union of a male wolf and a homeless cur, her biological mother took to the wilderness when life in the Alaskan cities became too dangerous. She stumbled upon the territories of the Sapmi wolves where she faced derision, prejudice, and even cruelty at all turns. The dog was forced to halt her travels in order to bring a single daughter into the world, an arduous labor that would prove too taxing for the starved canine.

Hessía would come upon the deceased mother some days later, passing by on her way to visit with a Relative. Finding a single hybrid pup at the dead woman's teat, the Sami woman would be forced to take the child home. There was no possibility that she could do otherwise - she believed the child placed in her path by the spirits. To abandon the orphan, knowing the spirits intended her to take the pup, would be sure to rile their wrath.

Elve, as the half-breed would come to be called, would be raised amidst a Sami family under the eyes of their spirits and expected to conform to their clan's traditions.

Hunter

Though she was loved, her adoptive mother had many other natural-born children to tend to and her adoptive father spared little time for his pups, given that men did not bother with child raising in Sami culture. He had especially slim patience with a child who was not his own blood and a girl child at that. As such, Elve grew into a humble, eager to please young woman - an attentive helper to her mother, a dutiful servant of the faith.

Her youth faced no major or concerning events save for her breaking the taboo of her people's culture. The girl was six months when she was discovered hunting, an act that was forbidden to women. The child was brought forth to the leader, her adoptive father, and sentenced with a death curse that would last the turn of a moon. If she could survive a month in the wilderness alone, she would be accepted back into the clan with open arms.

Elve struggled and though she nearly perished many times, the girl triumphed and returned to her people. She was given leave to hunt small game though she would still be barred from joining the group of hunters, so long as she did not neglect her duties to her father's household.

Wife

At 9 months old a slim dowry was placed over her young head and suitors were appraised by her father. Elve was informed of her new womanly duties by Hessía, of how she would be expected to move to a man's den and care for him as she had her parents and siblings, to honor him with sons. An arrangement was reached and the elf journeyed alongside her new husband, a man by the name of Raskeiû, to an unfamiliar corner of the Sapmi region to build a new life.

Elve endured much horror within the den and at the hands of her husband, which she accepted with gritted teeth and bowed head - the only light in her life the young step daughter she raised in the stead of her mate's deceased first wife. Indeed, it seemed that the woman's wrath was unprovokable until Raikseiû made known his intentions of taking the girl, his own daughter, to wife.

Elve lashed out at him in disgust, in horror of seeing her daughter endure her Hel, and was struck down violently by her mate in response. It was then that the spirits let their anger be known, a violent quake shaking the earth and causing the caves to collapse.

Many relatives were lost to the earthquake, amongst them Elve's mate and child. Raikseiû's younger brother immediately took over as head of the family and clan, per Sami traditions, and laid blame upon the fae's shoulders.

Cursed

The new leader cast a death curse upon the young woman, a societal custom in which the receiver of the curse is thought dead by those around them. The individual is considered a lingering spirit that intends to do harm upon the living. Relatives look through their loved ones as if unable to see them, ignoring their very existence.

Elve packed what few supplies she could and abandoned the Sampi lands, unable to even return home with a death curse upon her shoulders.

Teekon

Enters the Teekon Wilds in the spring of 2019. Attempts to hunt the unfamiliar game but is unsuccessful, leading Elve to try her hand at fishing the stream. She fails in this endeavor as well but is then approached by a kind woman named LunaHeart who offers to share her rabbit with the wolfdog. Elve accepts, gathers some carrots to add to their meal, and the two have a picnic of sorts.

Gathers strawberries, meets Ulysses (the first wolfdog she's ever met) and treats his injuries. They talk about their canine heritage and Ulysses teaches her that it's not necessarily a bad thing to be part dog - despite the prejudice they may face from some wolves.

Meets the Druid, Sherigrim, and his mouse familiar, Myrto, while gathering blackberry leaves. He calls her beautiful (<3) and is kind enough to help treat her bee stings. They speak of her past and he promises to scry the stars for her. The two foster an immediate attraction, just seeming to click. Though they would part, both would eagerly await their next encounter.

Meets Vercingetorix and is thoroughly confused by his flirting, offers to keep him company.

Meets the pup, Cam, who very nearly wanders into the outside world - makes sure he's returned to his mother before she leaves.

Meets Emrik, the traveler.

Returns to Herbalist's Cache to hopefully see Sherigrim once more. He kisses her cheek and Elve, who has become rather smitten, realizes her feelings for the Druid and proposes she speak with his Clan's Chief about arranging a marriage between them, per Sami customs. Sherigrim does not quite refuse but also doesn't agree: he asks her to return to Swiftcurrent Creek with him so they can get to know each other better, where Elve might assist at his side as a healer. Elve agrees whole-heartedly and the pair returns to his pack.
