The product of a union between a daughter of glory and a heretic coyote; in other circumstances, Ereshkigal would have been destroyed at birth. But the Truth Tellers were sorely light on numbers, so to kill new life within the tribe would have been folly. Instead, Nammu kept her hybrid children and named her trio of daughters Inanna (the mother), Ereshkigal (the seductress), and Lamashtu (the savage).
Upon their first birthdays, as tribal duty entailed, the yearlings were sent out into the greater world to preach the way of The One — the arbiter of all truths and the master of all fates. This sexless, formless monotheistic being is at the core of the Truth Tellers' beliefs; in fact, The One comprises all of their beliefs, as they believe It is all and All is in The One.
The sly, beguiling Ereshkigal heads north, bringing with her the wisdom of her mothers and their mothers and all before them, and a confidence in herself and her message that may only come with youth and naivete.
