Ezrah Blackwater was born to the alpha pair of Blackwater Cuesta--the reigning pack in a conglomerate of sister packs that exists somewhere the families have always just referred to as The West. There were six packs in the West made up of a few different families, but most notably the Blackwaters, Hales, Crows and Westfalls. The packs generally functioned just like any other, with the exception of all major decisions and oversight of conflicts being the ultimate responsibility of the Cuesta's Blackwaters.

At a young age, Ezrah was groomed like all others within the packs to be a devoted member of the family. He learned the meaning of duty of honor and, most of all, to put family first. His passion for exploration and natural protective instincts lead him to a life in the force--a group of wolves that live a pseudo-nomadic life travelling between the packs, resolving disputes, guarding the territories and providing other services as needed.

When the opportunity came for him to lead a scouting party further out into the unclaimed territories of the West with the intention of establishing a new sister pack for the clan, Ezrah seized it eagerly. He and a few of his packmates, including three of his siblings, set out in late Summer, only for Ezrah to be separated from them on the road. He's been travelling alone, searching for them since.
