Profile of Grandmother: Details
Appearance
Around 25" long, not including her ringed tail, and averaging around 65 lbs, Folly is pretty hefty for a raccoon. Her fur is double-layered and more bushy than what might be considered natural to a fully wild raccoon, due to being from fur farm stock. The added density of her coat only makes her face and hands look smaller and more pointed as a result, giving her forearms the appearance of sleeves. She is still capable of scurrying up a tree to safety if necessary. Sometimes she can be found playing with her food in lakes and streams, or gathering trinkets for her collection; on particular dreary days she makes rudimentary outfits out of large leaves in order to protect her luxurious (in her mind) gray coat.
Personality
Agreeable around other forest folk for the most part, with a clear distrust of wolves, coyotes, some foxes, as well as vermin-types. Her friendliness is directly proportional to how edible you think she is; imagine a raccoon nanny from Redwall and you've got her figured out. Meant as a low priority character to build up some lore.
Biography
Folly was born on an illegal fur farm in the Northwest Territories. She was from a stock of partially desensitized raccoons with a stronger affinity for humans than what would be considered normal for her kind. At four years old she, and other raccoons of the cages, found liberation through the intervention of other humans. They took her children and attempted rehabilitation, hoping that the rescued animals would return to base instinct when given the chance. When appropriate Folly was released in to the wild again.
Relations
Grandmother has at least eighteen children at this point and numerous grand- and greatgrand- descendants, considering how prolific raccoons can be. Despite this she has been an empty nester for some time and would react to seeing her children as any boomer might versus millenials migrating home to eat her food.

Her best friends (a loose affiliation at best) are a slovenly, mostly geriatric posse of woodland folk ranging from: a very sketchy possum, a lethargic badger, a beaver who is high from chewing bark all day, and a gossiping hummingbird who she really doesn't tolerate for long.
