YOU MAY NOT BE INTERESTED IN WAR

Upon first glance, it is rather obvious what circumstances crafted Lucretia, and what still dogs at her heels. She is a tall woman, staggeringly tall if you observe standards for her gender. Her body is heavyset, thickly corded with muscle especially around her shoulders and haunches. Proportionally, her head is a bit large, and her neck a bit short, but otherwise she carries herself with a sort of leonine grace, found in those large cats of the jungles. Her coat is thick as well, growing longer upon the neck and haunches rather than anywhere else on her body, framing her face in a messy manner, as her hair is always seemingly growing upwards instead of down, but this is simply a side effect of troubled sleeping making her turn over all night long. She has scars too, but they are mostly hidden beneath her dense coat, and you would need to search them out intentionally to find them.

Lucretia’s pelage is a base coat of lilac grays, peeking through her markings, which are capped off with dark, stormcloud grays on her extremities, with yet another shade of grey appearing in her ears, on her face, and on her toes. Her back is a mess of whites and grays crafting a unique ticking pattern that has always identified her.

Her eyes are often squinted, her right being a deep indigo blue, the left a steel blue-gray. Her face hardly ever twitches with anything more than the impressive raise of an eyebrow, earning her the mockery of Regina glacies among her fellow legionaries, before she put them back in their places.

BUT WAR IS INTERESTED IN YOU

Personality

I’D RATHER DIE ON MY FEET

Born as a creature of discipline, Lucretia is closed off from everything that could mean an emotion, be it rage or happiness. Her bearing is tight, rigorous, and deeply repressed. She lives life for the heat of battle and the honor a death upon a battlefield would bring her, to her beliefs. She is deeply loyal to a militaristic set up, and tends to drift aimlessly without something to keep her going and pushing on. Like a marionette with its strings cut, a Lucretia without a task is a being of blank eyes and wandering feet.

Though getting her to talk is a monumental task in and of itself, those who work past it find a woman so sure of the way she will die that she has nothing else to give. Her deeply cynical worldview paired with her willingness to die for any cause that can give her a modicum of dignity is worrying to anyone with an ounce of care for her, and her suspicious attitude towards attempts to breach her walls is just another way she keeps herself distant from the living, as she is sure she is something dead somehow still walking. Once those walls are breached, however, a woman with a personality outside of her suspicion slowly comes to view. Deeply loyal to her loved ones, Lucretia doesn’t question anyone she trusts. There also exists, a small small portion of her, that enjoys a good romance story, though this is deeply repressed and hidden.

Biography

YOU ARE A WEAPON

The pack into which Lucretia was born was constantly under siege from within. When she was dropped from her mother’s womb, the pack was run by something of a gang, barely holding on to power. It collapsed a day after her birth, and the old regime came back into power.

Lucretia was barely weaned when she was snatched from her mother’s side. She was placed under the apprenticeship of a brute, who pushed his young apprentice to the very edges of her sanity, and reeled her back again and again until she broke beneath his treatment. In the place of the bright young girl she once was, her mentor built an effigy to the woman she could have been, and turned her into a juggernaut. She served beneath his fist until infection killed him, then she took control of his unit. Her family died one by one by one, and she could only watch with blank unfeelingness. There was nothing of the daughter they bore in her now.

It was a miserable life, and everyone knew it. Eventually, the internal strife killed anyone who wished to lead, and the others decided they wished for different lives. When Lucretia wished for war, desperate for purpose, she was driven out of her homeland, told in no uncertain terms to leave and never return, the warmonger she was.

So, she hung up her helmet and weapon. Or so, she tried to. She still clings to it. On her worst nights, she wishes as hard as she can for purpose, for anything.
