Andrus came from humble beginnings--a son of the betas of a small pack far to the East in a place by the ocean, known only to the creatures that lived there as Farhaven. His happy childhood was cut short as a neighboring pack came to conquer and claim their lands as their own. Andrus's pack and family were wiped out. He escaped with his life only because a lower-ranked wolf stole him away as the others fought and died.

Andrus traveled with that wolf for a while, an older man named Havel. They took odd jobs amongst packs, whether it was guarding borders, driving away enemies, or protecting the young. It was from Havel that Andrus learned the life of a mercenary, which he continued even after the old man had passed on.

Over the years of his life, Andrus settled down thrice, fell in love once, and sired bastards he never realized existed. He was an old grizzly bear; a wandering warrior with no guide, no agenda, and no desire for anything more up until the day of his death, which was a terribly anti-climactic end. He simply fell through the ice of a river one day while following his most recent employer and never resurfaced.
