born kolfinnr crownore, alongside his twin sister, jora. son of nemos "blackthorn" crownore and chief-wife syrinna. trained early for war and survival. the hatred he was taught rooted deep, a birthright under nemos’ reign.
nemos ruled with terror—brutal, unyielding, and without mercy. kolfinnr hardened under him.
when the black rite came, kolfinnr was bestowed the name blackfell by shaman of the crags. he served as his father's advisor and continued to learn under the man until nemos grew old, tired. it was the duty of the firstborn: to challenge the father, spill his blood, and claim the throne.
tradition bound him. blackfell fought and killed nemos in the bloodletting rite. he claimed blackmarch as his birthright.
but rebellion followed. evenspire’s court stirred unrest, lords whispering resistance, calling the ancient tradition unlawful and treasonous. tensions tied to the monarchy’s influence and political schemes left blackfell’s reign challenged from the start.
to prevent full war with evenspire, blackfell left, hoping to protect his family and people with his self-imposed exile.
