"other shore" was born to a clan of wandering hunters in the windbound expanse, alongside three other siblings. by windbound tradition, she was not given a name until she was five months old, and that name of hers, like others of her family, reflected distant places her parents wished to see before death.

the vast and rolling plain, though beautiful, was harsh on those who stayed. and so her parents gave her the name of "other shore", for her to search for a salvation. by the age of eight months, she underwent the coming-of-age ceremony - "the ritual that never ends", the beginning of a departure from windbound, the infinite wanderlust.

it was in that never-ending ritual that she discovered her love for running, her desire to lay her eyes upon all the things that dared to thrive in this world. so she ran, and - failed to learned to stop.

since journeying into teekon from the northeast, other shore journeyed past morningside cuesta and whitebark stream before collapsing at the river known as the qeya. there, she realized too late that she could not run forever.

a kind woman by the name of star eater found her in her exhausted state and, with the permission of sun eater, the chieftain of saatsine, brought her in to recover. she found a motherly love within this woman. for a time she hunted with saatsine, learning a few faces and doing what she could to immerse herself in its customs.

unfortunately, not long after her first march, other shore was informed of impending violence between the lanzadoii and crownore bloodlines. confused, she turned to star eater for guidance, but was quickly dragged into the conflict. under the command of star eater - morwenna - she did what she thought was best, and, amidst the destruction of saatsine, did what she could to secure ghenaya, one of morwenna's daughters. though successful in retrieving the child from sulukinak, she was forced to leave the herbalist's cache behind.

other shore spent an unknown amount of time following morwenna's scent up north to sunset valley, bringing a fussy ghenaya along through redtail rise and larksong grotto. she eventually found morwenna along with ishmira and other former saatsine members and reunited ghenaya with her grateful mother.
