and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Iliksis - January 09, 2018

following his indoctrination to the forest, iliksis had immediately departed. he spent several days canvassing the meridian of the valley, once even revisiting the spot he had defiled anatha. iliksis treated his observance of the wretched scene like a vigil; tenderly he reorganized brush, smoothened out the ridges of snow, even nosed some leaves from their captured spot in the deep gouges of the eath. once, he had even laid in the very spot anatha had cowered, filling out every inch of her impression in the snow with a satisfied and low growl. he found such rituals fulfilling, even empowering -- and with his lust temporarily slaked he set out to the relative unknowns of the eastern valley.

iliksis became aware of a pack's territory along the eastern brim of stone. curious but not willing to expose himself, he traveled along the obscured heather with his dull hungry eyes looking in.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Vela - January 10, 2018

When the female woke up the early dawn, she rose with excitement. Drogon had promised her to show more mercenary moves and the girl was very ambitious to learn more. She had practiced the other moves he taught her religiously. She wouldn't hesitate now to try and get a bigger wolf to the ground. She knew it wouldn't be that easy, but at least she knew how to do it.

Vela made her way to the border. She promised Drogon that she wouldn't go to the border alone but today she would have her lessons there. She looked at the sun, perhaps she was a bit early, but then she would just wait by the meeting spot. Vela stepped closer to the marked spar and rubbed herself against it. She then thought she heard something so she eagerly looked back into the territory, thinking Drogon might be there.

To her disappointment, he wasn't there yet. So she turned around to glance at the world that was outside of the territory. The female held her tail high, one day she would explore it. She was the princess of Moonspear. Everyone would know this. No, she would be the Warrior Princess of Moonspear! Yeah, that's right.

I will tag Drogon when he is needed, haha!

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Iliksis - January 10, 2018

tucked beneath the brambles he studied the spears of granite and stone that rose above him. the mountains rose for many untold miles yet, and iliksis wondered what living treasures hunkered beneath.

he was about to be introduced to one such treasure -- one who came in the cheerful form of a small white pup with her tail curled proudly over her haunch. iliksis was too far to make out the unique smattering of spots on her pelt, but he was not so far to be able to detect she was alone.

like a snake he rose from the brambles and uncoiled towards her, his gaze hooded and intentions unclear. he could use surprise to his advantage and attack her right then and there, pull her into the thicket and have his way with her -- but that would be no fun. iliksis enjoyed the pursuit -- he enjoyed making his victims feel he was a friend.

but he was not a friend. he kicked out at a piece of heather, making a noise he was sure would attract her to him. and then he assumed the most piteous of positions -- his tail curled under his thin belly and his stomach flush with the ground as he awaited vela's discovery of him.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Vela - January 12, 2018

Vela's head snapped up once she heard a sound. She knew that the borders were dangerous but she didn't really believe it. That wasn't really a good thing. Overly confident, the female raised her tail up and pushed out her chest. Though she did tip down her muzzle like Drogon taught her. The other was close to the ground as she spotted the dark male. Vela instantly rushed forward all puffed up. "Who are you?! These are Moonspear's lands!," she spoke with a huff, trying to scare him away.

She bared her teeth, thinking she was oh-so-though. The female was only getting more hyped that the male was so low to the ground. Submissive was what shot through her thoughts. Now she couldn't try her new move on him though since he was already low on the ground. "You shouldn't come any closer!," she warned and put one step forward, thinking she was so threatening to the other male. Wait till her father knew about her defending the lands from this stranger! Or Drogon! He would be proud as well to see her being such a good mercenary.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Iliksis - January 14, 2018

it did not take vela long to discover him, and she came upon him like a white spitfire, her fur puffed out thoroughly and her little teeth bared. iliksis continued his cowering ploy -- he tried his best to don a submissive guise, and it appeared the young moonspear wolf had fallen for it.

his ears remained glued to his skull and he pressed himself against the ground, his tail thumping against the snow. he did not answer her, and it may have looked as if he was so shocked by her assertive command that he was left speechless. she stepped closer to him; almost close enough for iliksis to strike.

not yet. he steeled himself, casting his gaze to the ground as he hiccuped into the snow in subservient gasps of breath.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Vela - January 16, 2018

Vela squinted her eyes as there was no verbal communication. Was this wolf a mute? Or was he just deaf? She had told him to leave but he just moved closer to the ground. That was not what she wanted! Vela bared her teeth more. The cowering and hiccuping made the wolf even more pathetic in her eyes. Vela's arrogance told her she could take him. She looked over her shoulder. Where was Drogon when you need him?

Vela then decided that she could at least scare this wolf outside of the territory. The young girl raised her hackles, falling into his trap so easily. She lowered her muzzle to protect her neck and jumped forward with a growl. "I SAID SCAM!," she yelled girlishly followed by a snarl coming from her throat. She basically yelled it in his face now as she was standing much closer than before.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Iliksis - January 17, 2018

it was clear little vela was thoroughly ensnared by his ruse. in a way, iliksis was delighted to be so manipulative -- and to be so successful tricking others into thinking him harmless.

she advanced, a bold bounce to his step. iliksis wished to shatter that confidence, defile it, own it. to corrupt her soul permanently with his stain. and he would.

the heat of her breath fell on him as she yelled -- and it was then that the oily monster struck. rapidly and without warning he turned upon her, no snarl or growl uttered. with her so close, he brought his front paws up and attempted to pin her down -- if successful, he would put his entire weight on her and force her to the ground.

once on the ground, if she even was at all, he would attempt to drag her out from the bushes and towards blackfeather. the girl had a voice and his advances were likely to be loudly protested. it was too close to moonspear for him to debase her then -- he planned to drag her out of the hearing range of those she loved first. once alone, he would force himself upon her and the girl would have nothing but her screams to comfort her.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Vela - January 18, 2018

SUMMONING @Drogon XD HALP!!

It was the least what Vela expected to happen. The girl looked surprised when the other struck frowardly and reared up. Vela wanted to scramble back but the male landed on top of her. The female squeaked loudly, mostly because she was surprised. She tried to get from under him and started to yell and scream towards her attacker. If only Drogon would have been here. Her heart was beating down her throat. She tried to kick her legs against the male but she doubted that it would have any effect.

Vela yelped when she felt his teeth and her body being dragged over the ground like she was some form of prey to the male. Vela didn't know what to do unless fighting him every step of the way, digging her paws into the ground, against anything, to stop herself from being dragged away. She tried to bite him as well but he never seemed close enough so that she could reach him. Vela wasn't quieting down, even if she had to scream herself to death. She screamed like a Banshee while struggling against the dark male's grip, which was starting to hurt quite badly.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - RIP Wintersbane - January 18, 2018

drogon'd been heading to the borders to give vela her next lessons in their series of lessons, following her scent trail when he eventually comes across it, allowing it to lead him to her location, hoping that she'd heeded his words and hadn't started to patrol without him. with galaxy's death tensions are high — if they still were not heightened from vaati's attack on rannoch though drogon's not sure what's happening on the blackfeather wood's front — and he'd hoped that her sister's death would drive home the very real warning drogon had tried to instill upon vela ( as terrible as galaxy's death had been ). as he drew nearer there was another scent mingling with vela's own: distinct and recognizable, because drogon knew blackfeather wood's scent well and because he recognized the individual scent beneath it. iliksis. and just as the name and the briefest shudder of remembrance slithers down his spine the banshee scream shatters the calm of the air and in the split second that his heart drops his legs are propelling him forward as fast as drogon can manage. his heavy hitter build does not allow him to be as fast as a wolf smaller than him but he is close enough to pray to any god that would listen ( not that drogon is religious, mind, it just seemed like the logical thing to do ) that he isn't too late.

as the pair come into view — a struggling mess of white pelage in the grasp of the melanistic coywolf's teeth as he drags her from the presumed safety of their borders — drogon's terror morphs into somthing else entirely. he utters no words, no commands to release her, no call of her name to announce himself as her ( potential ) savior. only feral ira consumes him as if he is a sinner absent piety. drogon does not slow; in his mind there is no time and no place for diplomacy. he adjusts his course ever so slightly, favoring his dominate shoulder with the intent to ram his body into iliksis's own to dislodge vela's scruff from his ironclad grasp. if ilisksis dodges his attack drogon hopes to, at the very least, be enough of a distraction to allow vela to retreat to safety nevertheless.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Iliksis - January 20, 2018

she fought him every step of the way -- fuel for his deplorable fire. he enjoyed prey that fought back, it hastened his appetite and often when he befell his victims, it caused his ego to wildly flare. she snapped multiple times, kicked, screamed -- and he plowed through them all, though he grunted a few times as her teeth connected to his flesh.

only a monster would find screams so satisfying -- and scream she did, high, panicked bleats that roused his appetite and hastened his steps as he dragged her further and further from safety.

so preoccupied was he with his quarry, that he was not aware of drogon until he was upon him. with a grunt, iliksis was rammed clear from vela -- the force of the blow caused his mouth to part in shock and vela was immediately released by the momentum drogon carried in his shoulder.

iliksis was thrown clear of his victim and for a moment, as he spun midair with snow flying besides him, he watched vela ruefully as if witnessing all his plans foiled. when he landed it was in an ungainly cluster, and he rose to his legs carefully with a snarl and assessed vela's savior with the most displeased of expressions.

drogon. iliksis allowed his gaze to meet drogon's for a moment; he could sense the fury emanating from the male and had no wish to contest it. with a hateful spit directed at the snow, the male snarled and spun on his thin heels in the attempt to quickly flee before drogon had the chance to vanquish him.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Vela - January 22, 2018

Vela was pretty battered and bruised by the rough and tumble from being dragged by this male. The female was so relieved that her screams for help had summoned Drogon. The speckled teenager squeaked as she saw him charge at her attacker. The moment she felt the grip on her loosen she scrambled away. Vela didn't notice that her fur was stained red. She only had minor wounds, mostly because she fought back and not went along with him. What was she to do if the other had such a grip on her?

Vela made sure to stay clear of the fight. She wanted to flee to higher grounds. But the female didn't want to leave Drogon with this male but she didn't want to be grabbed again. Vela took some more distance not to make it any more difficult for Drogon. However, she did want to study what the male was doing. Her heart kept beating frantically. Her muscles tense and ready to bolt when needed. Adrenaline rushed through her, so much so that no pain was felt. She didn't even notice that she was bleeding from her scruff and was missing a few plucks of fur. She was quiet now. She was freed and did not want to draw the kidnappers attention to her again. Legs trembling in a mix of fear and thrill.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - RIP Wintersbane - January 24, 2018

drogon had expected a fight, itched for one even as he regroups himself from the jarring smart left from collsion impact in his shoulder and was left feeling disappointed when the coywolf snarls, spits and runs off. adrenaline still burns through the ansbjørn's veins and when he is quite sure that iliksis would not be doubling back he lets out a small sound of pain. "damnit." he lets out in a vague hiss. should he pursue? follow him the other male all the way back to blackfeather woods? or should he remain and protect vela? "vela...," he breathes her name as if abruptly remembering that she was the reason he'd just bull charged the male trying to kidnap her in the first place. "vela?" he rasps out her name louder, turning away and towards the borders where he thinks she'd inevitably scrambled back to. he hadn't exactly been paying attention. he'd only known that iliksis had released her and that she had wasted no time scrambling out of their way.

he finds her easily, the metallic tang of her blood a bread crumb trail . that he follows with a slight limp. his shoulder will no doubt be sore for a few days — there was a discernible difference between using the move in a friendly spar and using it in an actual fight or situation where he'd been intending to hurt. a situation that drogon had very much been prepared to kill in. it forces drogon to come face to face with the realization that he has feelings for vela. it seems abrupt, but he'd like her from the moment he met her. his chemistry and her chemistry mixing to breathe to life those embers of ...something. the knowledge, as indisputable now as it is, that he would kill for her and not bat an eyelash was ...monumental to him.

"he injured you." drogon doesn't want to think of if he had time to do anything else to her before his arrival. he moves closer to inspect the wounds upon her scruff though he's no healer and knows that her sister lyra would be better suited for assessing how bad or not bad the injury was. "ruhtinatar," he croons as if she is a spooked and flighty creature that might bolt from him at any second. given what she'd just went through and drogon's lack of knowledge on how traumatic it was for her it wouldn't surprise him if she did. he hesitates and ends up leaving distance between them, assuming it is better to allow her to decide how comfortable she is with coming nearer.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Iliksis - January 25, 2018

iliksis out, possibly? lmk!wasnt sure if drogon was going to pursue and hurt him more - if not, i'll fade iliksis here?

he was still winded as he hastily fled through the underbrush, his sides sharp with pain and strides short and choppy. the blow had been unexpected and perhaps that was most insulting of all -- iliksis' body quivered with rejected adrenaline, and a dark shade of umbrage coursed through him as he quickly made headway towards the valley.

he had been concerned drogon would follow him -- occasionally he glanced behind him, but no shadow stirred in the quiet fen. at length he stopped, panting heavily as he took in his surroundings. around him the forested mountainside was alien and strange -- illuminated only by scant moonlight, the wraith slipped into the countryside at a quick but limping clip.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Vela - January 27, 2018

Vela thought there would be more of a fight but her ears perked up when she heard him rasp out her name. The freckled girl was happy to see him. Her tail wagged. Her scruff only had some superficial bite marks. The blood made it worse than it was. She didn't feel much pain. Most of it was inflicted because she struggled herself against his grip. She still felt her heart beating like a madman. He noticed that she had been injured.

Vela stepped closer to him when he called her by her special name. Didn't he want her close? Was he disappointed in her? He didn't look disappointed. "It is only because I fought him the whole way. But he had a grip on me I couldn't get out of. I didn't know what to do," she admitted. Vela then stepped closer and snuggled into his chest. She was glad that he came to save her. "What could I have done?," she questioned then, her shaken feeling slowly vanishing now Drogon was close.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - RIP Wintersbane - January 27, 2018

it does not occur to drogon that he might get reprimanded for not chasing after iliksis — the coywolf was gone and his next immediate thought is of vela. he will not leave her alone. drogon keeps distance from her, unsure the extent of what had happened but comes to learn that his hesitation is moot. she drifts closer and explains what had happened though he had not asked. there is a miasma of feelings that rush through him; namely some bizarre mix of relief and unbridled wrath. Ire that he had tried to take her and relief that he hadn't gotten to do anything to her before drogon intercepted. "i —" drogon breathes in deeply, unsure what to tell her. she'd been in a bad predicament; one that would have turned probably horrible if he hadn't came along. he doesn't want to admit that he doesn't know, especially as she closes the distance between them and snuggles against his chest. the cogs in his brain stop as he tries to cleverly maneuver his way around being unable to walk her through the different things she could have used to attempt to free herself. a low noise rumbles in his throat and he draws his tongue against the wispy tendrils at her nape, tasting the copper of her blood from where iliksis' teeth had broken flesh. "you're safe vela," he promises in a quite, albeit forceful murmur; as if he says the words with as much conviction as he can that he can will it to be so. "i won't let anyone hurt you, ruhtinatar." perhaps it's a promise he can't actually fulfill — drogon knows he can't realistically protect her from everything ...but he can damn well try.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Vela - January 28, 2018

Vela turned her head curiously when Drogon didn't answer her question. She liked to know what she could have done as a counter-attack to the male. But Drogon just stumbled over his words. She gave a lick under his chin to say thank you without verballing saying it and encouraging him to tell her. But the male mumbled that she was safe and licked the nape of her neck. Probably licking the blood away. She wondered why Drogon wasn't scolding or even explaining what she could do better.

"I know I am safe," she spoke softly. Vela glanced up at him again before resting her head against the lush winter mane that covered his chest. It was so soft. Vela could wag her tail at least. She was still a bit shocked from what happened. "But... Drogon. Was there anything I could have done? I want to learn!," she spoke ambitiously. If only, this event showed her that she was not ready at all for the real world. It made her very wary of the wolves that weren't in Moonspear.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - RIP Wintersbane - January 29, 2018

she assures him that she knows she is safe moments before she presses her face back into the wispy fur of his mane. this time, he is more prepared for it, and after the initial shock of closeness the cogs in his brain begin grind for a moment before they start back up and begin to turn. he feels a bit hot beneath the swarthy fur of his cheeks but he's not sure if it's his seething anger at iliksis or the coming down from the high the adrenaline had left him with or if it was her closeness. maybe, drogon thinks, it's a mixture of all three. he regrets not chasing after the coywolf but then reminds himself that patience is a virtue. there would be time for that, time to get revenge for hurting and almost kidnapping his girl.

vela brings up a second time the question of what she could have done. "i always assumed that if you were scruffed and on the ground that that was it. you either yield or you die," drogon admits, hating how the words tasted in his mouth. "though make no mistake i am glad that you did neither." he adds quickly. "i don't know. we can work on trying to find out, run through practice scenarios. later." his shoulder was still smarting from where he'd rammed it into iliksis's body and for once in his life he's not in a sparring mood.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Vela - January 29, 2018

Vela was glad to hear that she did well. The female liked that she thought differently than Drogon. It made her feel like her opinion was also a good one. She stayed snuggled against him. The young female took in his scent and decided that she rather liked it. She slowly nodded. "My neck is starting to hurt a bit," she admitted. Probably because the adrenaline died out and now she was starting to feel the pain.

"We should tell Daddy that you saved me!," Vela gasped then and glanced up at Drogon. Plus her daddy should probably know that a wolf tried to kidnap her. "I don't even know why this wolf was kidnapping me. Did you know him? Did he say anything to you?," she questioned.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - RIP Wintersbane - January 29, 2018

she brought to his attention that her neck had begun to ache though he had not forgotten her wounds as he gingerly draws his tongue through the blood stained wispy tendrils at her nape and perhaps doing more damage than good ( for he was no healer and has no idea what to do to staunch bleeding nor how to properly clean a wound ) he cringes into her fur ever so slightly and ceases the action. "right," drogon murmurs with a soft 'hum, hum' noise as if he is clearing his throat. swarthy ears flutter back to gently rest against the curve of his skull as he took a few steps back at the mention of letting charon know that he saved her. it was definitely prudent to let leadership know that their daughter was almost kidnapped but thanks to a certain maned warrior it was prevented however drogon doesn't know her parents that well and has, generally, tried to stay off their radar for better or worse. it had seemed like a good idea given his disposition towards authority. however, he agrees — at least on the matter that they should be informed.

"right," he repeats this time the word heavier on his whiskey steeped in smoke timbre then it had been previously. he tipped his head back and let out a summons for @Charon, @Amekaze, @Hydra, @Ayla and @Lyra unsure if all would show up or if only some would come. drogon tests his sore shoulder, winces and the favors his left leg with a shift of his weight. "i don't know." he's uttered those words this day more than he ever cares to admit. drogon doesn't like not knowing, doesn't like stumbling over himself because he has no answer for vela. "i wouldn't say i know him," drogon is quick to respond. "but i met him once. before. before he joined blackfeather woods, i'm certain." it was a pack scent seared into drogon's mind with so much hatred and malice that it was impossible for him to forget and it shames him to remember that he was one of them, once, even if it was only for a brief time. "his name's iliksis." it wasn't as if their conversation had been filled with gossip or overly revealing details about one another. drogon stops speaking there, conveying to vela that it's all the information he has on the coywolf.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Charon - January 30, 2018

Charon had been patrolling further along the borders, unaware that his little girl was in trouble. She was at the age where it was fine for them to roam around a little, so long as they stayed safe. He'd smelled her scent around the borders but had thought little of it; when he was her age he often explored the surrounding territories, too.

The call sounded urgent. Charon didn't know that much about Drogon, hadn't seen him 'round much though he gathered from Hydra that he was around; just not near Charon most of the time. Still though, to hear the call go out to him and his family made him fear the worst for Vela or Jarilo, or maybe even Julia, for calling for the family alone must mean something was wrong with them.

In the distance he saw Drogon and he was quick to decipher that Vela was with him, snuggled close. Charon did not stop running until he reached them. Vela's body looked dirty and he scanned quickly for blood but took little time in his rush to get there to study her. Body still heaved from the exertion of the run and as he came into view he made to push himself between Drogon and Vela: he approached with hackles raised and a low rumble in his throat, and if Drogon did not move aside he would try to shove him.

does Vela have any blood anywhere? or just scruffy/dirty from being dragged?

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Vela - January 30, 2018

Yes! She has some wounds but not severe! Iliksis had a grip on her scruff and she struggled against his bite. So I feel she has a few shallow puncture wounds that are bleeding by her scruff! So nothing too major but there is blood, and dirt from the ground all over her body from being dragged.

Vela allowed Drogon to lick over her scruff. She felt since he was older he was also wiser and knew what to do. She thought he was cleaning it. She heard him howl for her family. A nervous tingle went through her and she didn't know why. The female listened. So Drogon did know this male! How curious. Maybe he came to look for him but instead grabbed her? Vela would never know why she was grabbed by her kidnapper. Luckily it wasn't even an actual kidnapping.

"Blackfeather," she whispered. She remembered that name from talks she heard about a war. They were dangerous. Iliksis proved that they were dangerous. Vela was about to respond when her daddy came crashing in. Vela jumped up when her father came closer, she felt weird being plastered against a male that wasn't her father. He didn't look too happy. Drogon had probably licked most of the blood away, but as she moved it started to tickle lightly.

"Daddy!," she gasped. "Don't growl. Drogon saved me from being kidnapped!," she quickly spoke. She didn't want her daddy to dislike Drogon. She liked Drogon. He was a good option to hang out with when her father wasn't around. "There was a blackfeather wolf that tried it!!," she added. She wisely kept to herself that Drogon knew the attacker. She felt that her father would probably take that the wrong way.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - RIP Wintersbane - January 30, 2018

there is a certain level of decorum that drogon attempts to maintain as charon comes charging onto the scene like an enraged bull in a china shop. that particular fact in and of itself does not surprise drogon — he'd been the one to call vela's family to the scene, after all — but he moves away from vela with something of reluctance as charon wedges himself between them with a growl. he side-steps the alpha before the older man can shove him out of the way. if drogon were a father he might have been able to realize how it looked: with a plebeian getting all cozy with one of the princesses but ...vela'd been the one to instigate it. regardless, drogon wasn't about to apologize for it. he likes vela. more than he, in all actuality, wants to admit. he's never actually thought about pursuing her romantically but as the thought occurs to him ( now, of all times and places ) he wonders how much trouble charon is going to be on that front.

vela takes the center stage and drogon allows her the spotlight, knowing that in the end her words will garner more favor with charon than his own. he stands off to the side, glacial gaze focused onto the borders though the coywolf was long gone; yet the attentive and alert cup of his ears atop his skull let the pair know that he was paying rapt attention to their conversation and that he was ready to speak, attempting to prepare himself for any questions that may follow.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Charon - January 31, 2018

Vela's words fell to deaf ears for even if he had known this beforehand, he would have done as he had. Charon was glad that Drogon caught his hints for he did not want to have to use violence to get his way. He just wanted to be close to his little girl. As Drogon moved out the way Charon slid into place beside his daughter and nosed her over. He could see there were a few wounds, but not overly many. Judging by the dirt on her fur he guessed she might have some sore muscles in the morning as it looked as if something had taken her and dragged her around.

A Blackfeather wolf, she said, a thing that surprised him. He didn't think any of them were that dangerous anymore. After all, Vaati had been befriended by his trio and Potema was still his dear friend. What other threats could lurk there? They had always been chaotic, and that was a threat in its own, but... Well, no matter, he thought, for soon it would be taken care of by their own enemies.

Charon took over the task of cleaning Vela's wounds while she told him the brief summary of the story. "Thank you," he said to Drogon, though words were gruff and didn't sound well-meant. It wasn't that he was not thankful, but presently his body was still rife with adrenaline and Charon was getting tired of always being one step behind his enemies as they plucked his daughters one by one — he was feeling bloodthirsty and angry over the loss of Galaxy and now this with Vela... When would he be the one to save his loved ones or at least take his revenge upon their assailants? How he longed to feel flesh rip between his teeth so that he could feel like a competent leader and father once more.

"I'm glad you're okay, sweetie," Charon murmured with a sigh of relief, though it did not quench the frustration that he felt and the screaming in his head. It was easy enough to form the words of you're not good enough to everyone who wants to hurt you or your pack and family must pay but it didn't stop the loudness of the feelings that were there. "What wolf was it?" he asked in general, to both of them or either of them. So that he knew who to kill on sight if they were ever to show up here again (and how he hoped they would).

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - Vela - February 01, 2018

Vela noticed that Drogon stayed quiet and made way for her father. Sometimes Vela forgot that her father had a higher status. Other wolves like Drogon didn't have the bond with him that she had. To her, it seemed so normal. The freckled girl couldn't help but smile when her father thanked Drogon. That is right! Even though, Vela totally missed the tone of her father. She thought it was good he thanked her rescuer.

"Yeah! I am good. My neck is a bit sore though," she admitted. "I want to be good at this border patrol. I want to be a Guardian just like you and a fighter like Drogon," she told him. Though it was still a bit unnerving that a male could just grab her and drag her with him. She didn't want that to happen again. Vela turned to Drogon when Charon asked who it was that got his maw on her. Vela thought it might be wiser for Drogon to tell that himself.

RE: and all the people in a dream wait for the machine - RIP Wintersbane - February 02, 2018

y'all get my 300th drogon post! :D

drogon's ears splay back against his skull as charon takes his place and offers him words of gratitude that fall short of sounding well meant. i didn't do it for you, drogon thinks as he looks away, composing himself so the scowl he felt creeping up did not actually break his mask. it hadn't even been for himself. he'd saved vela for vela. because for all of her arrogance and naivety she was worth saving, because a life without her would be dull, because it was what every instinct in him had screamed at him to do. save the girl. not that drogon fancies himself as any sort of prince charming because he knows he's not. but he does know that he's begun to care for vela and not in a strictly platonic way.

charon asks for the identity of vela's assailant, leaving the question open for either of them and thus it does not surprise the ansbjørn when vela looks at him to speak up. "all i know is that his name is iliksis and that he smelled of blackfeather woods." drogon offers to charon. "i don't know him on any personal level or anything. we met very briefly a while ago on one my impromptu scouting trips and exchanged few words and i'm fairly certain he was a lone wolf at that time." at least, he hadn't smelled of any pack. drogon'd been unsettled by the coywolf — which said something if only because it took a lot to unsettle him — and he hadn't been able to place it at the time but now he's labeled the coywolf as a creep and is able to put away that unsettled feeling and replace it with a slow burning ire. drogon's glacial gaze flickers to vela where it lingers for a few moments too long before it moves back to his alpha.
