as the other accepted her offer and thanked her, deirdre dipped her head and hummed,
of course!deirdre paused for a moment, not wanting the time they shared to end quite yet. but perhaps her father would worry for her, as well as her mother. emaleth perhaps knew where she was--she always seemed to.
i must return home, now. but i will see you again,she said, knowingly--for they had agreed on this already. the thunderclouds were far enough that deirdre knew they would not hinder larkspur's return home, unless she got lost long before then. deirdre did not think this the case, and though she turned to go, she paused to look o'er her shoulder to be sure larkspur headed in the direction she had mentioned. only when the honeycomb wolf was out of sight did deirdre move to donnelaith.
