RE: and breathe in time [m] - Dash - July 15, 2016 Not sure where this falls in my timeline, so being vague! The howl rang out, and Dash immediately got to his feet, his ears perking in interest. It sounded urgent, and so he wasted no time in pushing away from his den and running towards where Charon was. It took him a hot minute to get there, and he slowed when the mingling scents reached his nose. His hackles raised, but he kept his head and tail lowered in respect to Charon and Ame.
He stopped a few feet from them, his eyes scanning the area. There were three scents, but two wolves. Where was Lazarus? What happened? he asked, his gaze moving between his two Alphas. What can I do? That question was more important, he felt.
RE: and breathe in time [m] - Floki - July 15, 2016 There was an urgency in Charon's tone that Floki couldn't quite identify; it worried him and sent a chill down his spine. He moved as quickly as he could towards his brother, picking his way gingerly across the rocky terrain. For some time after his fall, he had avoided clambering up the mountainside, but now he ignored the painful protests of his ankle, driven by concern for his brother. When he arrived, he was winded and sore, and there was a deep furrow in his brow as he assessed the situation. Dash seemed to have been there only a few moments, and his gaze skimmed over the dark male before landing on Charon and Amekaze. The blood on Charon's face and Amekaze's defeated posture caused him to inhale sharply; his hackles prickled as he repeated Dash's question. "What happened?" RE: and breathe in time [m] - Amekaze - July 16, 2016 She breathed deep, looking for some type of mental grounding to help get her through this, although her ears swung back warily now knowing that he'd called others. Well, she'd heard it. The meaning hadn't really settled, and now she was realizing the bad taste it left in her mouth. She prickled and looked away uneasily. "I do not need it," she grumbled weakly, tired, although with the hint of an edge suggesting that she meant it with every fragment of remaining energy. Not right now. She didn't have the patience for any of it and just wanted to go away. Dash then Floki arrived soon after, questions abounding. She delicately rose to her feet.. slowly, and stood just barely so she could point a heavy stare at Charon, mainly ignoring the other two for the time. She certainly did not want to be here for any kind of detailed explanation. Her feet itched accordingly and to be honest, she hoped he did not go saying much anyway -- for her own sake, if nothing else. It was clear enough as it was. "Find him. He dies," she exhaled with a lick of venom and finally a glance over Floki and Dash, because if they didn't do it, someone would have to; that was all the explanation they really needed. Their alpha male would surely confirm it. But truly, if whatever Charon had done already to remove him from sight hadn't been enough to finish it, he probably would not have long with others on the hunt. With that said, she slowly, and pitifully compared to her normal poise, began to leave this place. She tried to quiver her tail upward in one last statement despite the cruel burn of defeat that overpowered all else but success was halfhearted at best. RE: and breathe in time [m] - Charon - July 16, 2016 Frustration bubbled up in Charon's gut when his mate denied the help he sought out for her. His words were laced with the venom that he felt in his heart when he spoke, pointedly and commanding: "Yes, you do, you --" But at that moment both Dash and Floki arrived. They asked what had happened, which brought about all sorts of different mixed feelings in his gut. He did not wish to acknowledge what had happened, yet as they arrived he realised the painful truth, and his own mistake in calling them here, that the scene still stack of the aftermath of consummation, of sex. Amekaze used their arrival as her getaway. As much as Charon wanted to scream at her, to stop her, to command her to stay, he knew that he could not. With a dark frown on his face, he watched her leave, intent to check on her later on. He then turned to Dash and Floki and said, "Lazarus attacked Ame. He... we got into a scuffle and he fell down the mountain. I'm not sure we can get a clear view of where he'll be, exactly... But we should go look. Try to find him, and in case he still lives, kill him." Or worse, he darkly though, but he did not speak those thoughts. He did not mention any of the sordid details, too ashamed and unwilling to accept what had happened yet to say it out loud for the moment. It was hard to fathom that he had now been in the same position as his brother. RE: and breathe in time [m] - Dash - July 17, 2016 His gaze turned to Ame as she slowly rose from the ground. She didn't look very happily at Charon, and Dash quickly averted his gaze to the ground, not wanting to gain any negative attention from the angry female Alpha. Her words were harsh, and for a moment, he didn't know who she was talking about. But, the only wolf missing here was Lazarus, as his scent was mingled in with both Charon and Ame but he obviously wasn't here. He gave a quick nod to Amekaze, acknowledging her command with every intent to carry it out. His head lowered more in respect to her as she made her departure.
His gaze turned to Charon as he spoke, giving them a little more information. Dash wasn't all the surprised that Lazarus had attacked Ame. He hadn't liked the male from the first and only meeting, and had steered clear of him since. There was something off about him, but Dash couldn't tell exactly what. Now, he had firm proof that the male was dangerous, and orders to kill him on sight. He nodded swiftly. Gladly, he replied.
He felt there was more to the story, as the scents that mingled seemed heavier than just a fight, but Dash didn't question it. Whatever went on here was none of his business, aside from the orders given. He walked to the ledge, looking down it. He couldn't see Lazarus, but he quickly willed the scene to his memory, and turned to head down to the bottom of the ledge to see if the enemy's body was there, or signs of where he may have went. He figured Floki might follow, and would welcome him to, if he wanted.
RE: and breathe in time [m] - Floki - July 18, 2016 My last post since I'm out of town and don't want to hold this up -- feel free to PP Floki if necessary as you wrap this thread up! :)
"Find him. He dies." Amekaze's brief yet vindictive response turned Floki's blood cold. He was filled with momentary confusion, but like Dash he put together the missing pieces -- he hadn't noticed at first, but Lazarus' scent was everywhere and yet the feral wolf was nowhere to be seen. His expression darkened as Amekaze took her leave and Charon gave a more thorough explanation. Floki was flooded with a hatred that he had never before experienced. Lazarus had already tried to overthrow him from his Beta position -- and the young, inexperienced leader had left it at that. He had stayed away from Lazarus when he should have challenged him, should have kicked his ass -- and now Lazarus had attacked Amekaze. He suddenly felt sick to his stomach as he remembered Wildfire; he planted his feet firmly against the ground to keep from swaying. "We'll find him," he said lowly; he met Charon's gaze for a moment, and then moved to follow Dash down the slope. RE: and breathe in time [m] - Charon - July 19, 2016 Charon was still stung from the aftermath of not only witnessing this, but also Amekaze's cold demeanour when she obviously needed help. But he wasn't about to get into a physical fight over it, not in front of the boys, so he'd had to let her leave. He now looked at Dash and Flóki, both of whom seemed to harden with determination now, as they agreed to go look for him. He considered Flóki's personal grief in this matter, for he'd been here, in a way; they'd all bee here before, hunting down a rapist. "Fucking Judas doesn't even show up," he muttered, annoyed, and then turned to leave. "Let's just go, check out the base of the mountain and surrounding territories. I don't know if we can get to the point where he must've fallen down, but we'll try." He nodded at the others and then started to lead the way. They could split up later, when they had a better overview of what needed done. seems like a good place to fade this? :)
