RE: She's a wild one - Void - June 13, 2022

"One last question, would I be allowed to have a mate out of the pack?" Void asked.

Then to answer his question.

"I am serious about joining your pack, offspring can wait." Void replied. "I'm not sure what you need me to do to prove myself, but I'll do whatever it takes." He told the alpha strongly.

apologies for the short reply, in a rush rn!

RE: She's a wild one - Kigipigak - June 13, 2022

Hey Ryder, it looks like you skipped Amalia. We'll go with it for now since there's not much for her to do during the conversation (and Danni gave permission to continue despite the skip) but please be aware there is a posting order. :)

Kigipigak's doubt in this man and his motivations expanded further with his next question. It made sense that lone wolves would be on the hunt for receptive women in this season. It did not sit right with him that Amalia was the target of his interest after such a brief meeting. It was not right.

Having already explained how his village operated, Kigipigak was growing frustrated. I have told you — only my wife and her children, our children, will grow within our village. You choose for yourself if you want a home for the long-term with us, or a wife elsewhere. So, in short: no.

A wolf was nothing without his pack. That was something Kigipigak had learned repeatedly as he'd served others, or lived alone, and now that he was at the helm of his village he intended to keep his family safe. Void appeared to be interested only in finding a woman for himself; if he had truly wanted a home, he'd have found one by now.

Kigipigak had given his word, however. He had agreed to give the man a task to prove his abilities — and perhaps that would amount to something for Void. Perhaps against Kigipigak's better judgement he resigned himself to the hole he had dug with his own words.

My people are here to visit the wolves of the Neverwinter, and then to move up the mountain to a village called Moonglow and see our kin there. While we stay and visit, I ask that you stay within these woods and get to know the people claiming it. Offer them your help — hunt for them, talk with them, and whatever else they may require. When my family returns this way I will speak with my friends of the woods, and they will tell me how you have adapted. It would give Void ample opportunity to establish himself. Lote and Keyni, and the others who lived here, would get to know him in turn and Kigipigak could then get a better read on the situation.

If they are impressed with you, then on the journey home you will be welcome to travel with us to our claim. It was a tall order; Kigipigak still wasn't sure how long his family would be visiting with Moonglow and so Void had many days of work ahead.

RE: She's a wild one - Amalia - June 13, 2022

Last post for me. Thank you for the thread. :)

It was a tall order that Void had been given. But Amalia had grown to trust Kigipigak in these last few weeks. She liked him and his family and they treated her well. If Void did as he was asked, and it was within reason, and he did well with it. Then he would be a good addition. Kigipigak did not give out such things without reason.

Amalia wagged her tail gently. I hope you can help them Void. But if you'll excuse me. I am going to go get some Rabbits for supper. It was nice to meet you.

She dipped her muzzle, licked the underside of Kigipigak chin if he would allow or at the very least show her respect to him. And then she turned and went the other way, back towards their encampment.

RE: She's a wild one - Void - June 13, 2022

apologies, I didn’t realize

“I don’t think I’ll do that, sorry. I’m just going to go back to the mountains alone and hope to find a mate and to start my own pack some day. I thought I could try this but I don’t think I could do that. I’m sorry for wasting your time. I really only want to start my own family.” Void told the alpha respectfully. He then dipped his head and got the hell out of there before the alpha could say or do anything about his sudden change of mind.
last for me, feel free to fade after this

RE: She's a wild one - Kigipigak - June 13, 2022

Upon hearing what Kigipigak offered, the boy would change his mind quickly. He said as much; it wasn't worth the effort to him, and so Kigipigak would hear his refusal and watch as the shadow turned and departed.

Kigipigak looked to Amalia. He thought that the offer had been a good one — it would have given the stranger a chance, anyway. He had nothing to say, and only gave his amaguk a queer look before turning around to leave himself.

He had his own family to look after.
