RE: Coyote ugly. - Fennec - March 19, 2024

The sooner the better, I think. Fennec said, recognizing the annoyance in her mother’s tone and what it meant. She didn’t like this one bit. Sometimes changes were natural, but this was a large change, consistent and not the best of signs. Blood never was.

If not that, there’s other things. Yarrow, maybe. And another… she didn’t know the name, but she knew the scent. She’d rarely encountered it - yarrow was the better bet.

I can look, if you need to stay. Her mouth finally quirked up in a bit of a smile, fully realizing the irony of the statement. She still had yet to explore the garden, but maybe this was the moment to do that. If it was anywhere in the territory it would probably be there.

RE: Coyote ugly. - Towhee - March 19, 2024

She didn’t argue with Fennec’s concern. Towhee didn’t say anything at all as she continued awkwardly splashing between her legs while looking right at Fen. After she finished with that, she stepped back from the water’s edge and dropped her hindquarters to drag them along the ground. It was too bad her daughter couldn’t see her; she was certain she looked ridiculous. But it worked to dry herself off a bit.

Why don’t you find what we need and meet me at The Taigh? I left a skin to dry in Orca’s Forest. I tried washing it but it’s—there’s no saving it. It should make a great birthing blanket though, Towhee said with a huff of sheepish laughter. I’ll catch up with you later, Fen, she added in a soft voice, making sure to await any last words before departing.

RE: Coyote ugly. - Fennec - March 29, 2024

Fennec was patient as she waited, the sound of the water the only thing for a stretch.

Then she agreed. Fennec was relieved, though she just let out a breath. Okay. Meet you there. She would work easier without worrying and didn’t think the garden was big enough to need the two of them to search. Besides, even if Towhee knew raspberry, she likely didn’t know the other plants. Fennec needed to see what was there before she knew if it was safe for others to poke around in.

She would spend a little time familiarizing herself before finding what she needed and returning to give her mom a dose.
