What an eyeopener! - Scarlett - July 03, 2015 Scarlett had only left the den minimally, she wanted to stay with her babies at all times. And today she was glad she did. Besides, it was cooler under the ground than the hot summer weather. The pale female licked one of the pups clean, humming softly. She noticed that some reacted to her humming, meaning their ears were slowly starting to hear. That could only mean that their eyes were starting to open too. Though Scarlett was still surprised when she saw the dark eyes of Desna looked adorably confused at her. The dark pup was nestled in her white fur. Scarlett licked the girl. "Oh look at how pretty you are," she spoke on her warm mother tone. Her nose then moved to the others to check if their eyes were opening too. She wished to know what kind of adorable puppy eyes her babies had. She was most curious for Xan, wanting to know if his eyes were red like hers or maybe another color, orange like Kove's. Then he really would be the spitting image of his father! RE: What an eyeopener! - Nanook - July 03, 2015 their eyes are going to be blue until four months old I think
Nanook found that she liked the rough tongue that licked over her body sometimes, but on other times, she absolutely hated and despised it. It depended on her mood, when she was happy, she was peaceful and lamb-like. When she wasn't happy, she became a terrible monster, screaming, yelping, pawing at her siblings, clambering over them. Basically, Nanook was not a happy camper most of the time. But ever since she was able to hear her own screaming, she had visibly quietened, but that also meant she used other even more brutal methods to demonstrate her unhappiness. That day, the polar bear awoke from a nap. She raised a silver paw to rub her face and yawned widely, eyelids parting for the first time in her life. Nanook blinked, taking in the colors of this new world with wide eyes but she was interrupted when her mother's nose touched her body. Nanook scrambled away as fast as she could and let out a loud annoyed yelp, fixing her stormy blue eyes on her mother and taking in her features. Quickly, Nanook's attention turned to one of her siblings (Desna) and buried her face into the black fur before withdrawing once more, watching the image of her grow when she got close and become smaller when she moved backwards. RE: What an eyeopener! - RIP Valette - July 04, 2015 The wolf pup I have as an ava for Desna is not 4 months old and has already dark eyes. Her eyes will slowly turn from dark to Hazel over those 4 months, so I guess that counts? I'm not sure tho?
Desna woke up from her nap when her eyes suddenly opened. She had no clue what was happening. She could...see? She blinked several times, seeing her own small dark paws stretched before her and the white fur under her. Oh. When she looked up more she saw her mother for the first time. The cub blinked and almost lost her balance, tumbling down her mother's shoulder and landing in the soft bedding. She let out a squeak in shock. Luckily her mother was there and her sister. She wanted to nestle back against the grey pup but then her sister was already moving backwards. Desna just laid there, confused by everything. Then she let out a bossy squeak, telling Nanook something like 'Don't do that!'. She didn't know why her sister was moving so much! She just wanted to snuggle. The pup tried to sat up but with all her fat she rolled over on her side. Her vision changing until she saw everything sideways. She let out a squeak in shock. How could she have the other vision back! Oh no! RE: What an eyeopener! - Scarlett - July 19, 2015 They were so adorable. Scarlett loved her little balls of fluff even though the babies were often making her dirty or making a lot of noise. But that was because she was a mother. She loved every moment of it. She chuckled softly as Desna fell over and looked so confused. With a nudge of her nose she pushed her back on her belly. She licked over the other two, Sesi and Xan. They were usually more quiet, for now. They said, quiet babies made difficult teenagers. Or something like that. She hoped that wasn't the case. Scarlett placed her head down between her paws, looking quietly at Desna and Nanook since they were very keen on exploring their sight. They all hadn't have red eyes, but she was curious about Xan, he was pure white like her and Kove. She hoped he wouldn't have her red eyes, but Kove's copper ones. RE: What an eyeopener! - Nanook - July 20, 2015 Her sister's bossy squeak only goaded her on. She could do as she pleased, and Nanook pulled in and out faster now, without a care that the blurring world made her head reel. So much brightness, so much to see! Her mind exploded with everything, and she pawed at her face to cover her eyes - darkness - before opening them again with a squeal of delight. She controlled the blackness now, and she blinked her eyes open and closed, flashing between dark and light and taking in everything in case this new thing didn't last forever. Hearing another noise from her sister akin to her own cries of surprise, Nanook staggered her spinning gaze to the other pup and felt a gurgle of a laugh steal her. Older pups might have rushed to console the disoriented child, but Nanook couldn't help herself. The sight of her sister toppled over on the ground switched something in the little pup's brain, and the den - once filled with her shrieks and cries - now echoed with her euphoric yips. Desna was quickly righted, of course, by the milk-giver, and Nanook wobbled over to paw at her sister's face, aiming to touch the things she deemed the sight-givers. She couldn't stop herself if she tried, and beelined at her sister with a one-track pursuit. If she touched the sight-givers, could she feel sight, too? RE: What an eyeopener! - RIP Valette - July 21, 2015 Desna wobbled over when her mother nudged her back. The fat pup lay on her tummy and looked around, everything seemed normal again. So weird! But thanks to their mommy she was seeing normal again. Her sister was approaching fast and Desna was all for playing with her sister. Even with her huge bulk she had to move Desna was always in for active play time. She was fat but not lazy. She loved her mother's food a lot. Frankly Desna loved all things about her mommy she was the bestest! The charcoal pup readied herself for her incoming sister and then jumped forward but toppled over on her side, which was surprisingly the perfect dodge. She had evaded her sister. Good to know! She opened her toothless mouth as she laid on her side, realising she wasn't quick enough to get up and avoid her sister again. She would have to fight her like a super wolf she was! RE: What an eyeopener! - Scarlett - July 21, 2015 Scarlett closed her eyes for a moment, seeing Nanook and Desna play so well together. They were really adorable and while they were keeping each other busy. Though she couldn't really nap with all this cuteness around her. But she could rest her head while the two girls were playing. Her red eyes moved to the side for a moment, seeing Sesi and Xan snuggled up together. Scarlett licked @Sesi. The mother was curious to see if her eyes were willing to open yet. Slowly their personalities were visible and it was adorable to see. Frankly Scarlett was smitten with her babies. She also nudged @Xan to see if his little body wanted to wake up soon. The mother was eager to see the eyes of her pretty little babies. Her attentive eye fell back on the two wresting pups. Glad they were so healthy and ready to play at all times. RE: What an eyeopener! - Xan - July 21, 2015 The world was dark, but that was nothing new. Everything had been dark since back when the boy was forced out into the world, and so it came as quite the surprise when the blackness was replaced. In place of what he was familiar with, came a bunch of vibrant colours. It interested the boy, and has his little legs moving and body twitching. It was nothing more than a dream, but to him it felt so real. It was pretty, and he liked how it all looked, but it seemed those around him did not feel the need to let him stay in his dream-filled world. First off, his sister—the one who was always making noise—was being obnoxiously loud. That didn't come as much of a shock to him, but also didn't annoy him any less than it usually did. Then there was the heftiest of the furballs, who sounded like she was up to no good. What really got him, though, was the presence of another body close to his. Xan was still too young to understand that he was related to the females, so he didn't hold back when he discovered one was invading his personal space. He tried to reach out his paw to hit her, though the motion caused something else to happen, too. Before the boy had even realized it'd happened, his eyes had popped open. It took a moment for them to adjust to seeing, but when they did he was left both amazed and disappointed. Amazed by the obvious, the fact that he was seeing for the first time. Disappointed, however, by the fact that things in the den weren't nearly as vibrant as they'd been in his dream. He let out his squeaks of disapproval, and quickly started to hobble away from the other body who had gotten too close to him. While the little boy could not see his own eyes, those around him would see that they were not dark like his siblings. No, instead, they were a deep red with a pale blue around his pupils—colours caused by the combination of mutated genes. When he is older, he'll love his eyes for how different they were, but for the time being he couldn't care less. He was far too preoccupied with looking around the den to even care about whether or not his eyes appeared different. RE: What an eyeopener! - Nanook - July 24, 2015 Nanook didn't expect Desna to move so fast. One moment she stared into her sister's sight-givers, the second her gaze met only the floor. Her legs buckled at the impact and her body fell forward, but the little warrior pushed off from moment's collapse and reared back. Her dark sister came into view again, lolling on her side. Desna had evaded her once, somehow, and the silver warrior would not let that happen again. She wasted no time and threw herself toward her toppled sister with the greatest puppy force, even though Desna was bigger than her. The once chattery pup now raged in silence, all energy consumed by the brawl. She didn't even notice the waking of Xan, or Scarlett's watchful eye. None of that mattered - her mind set on victory alone. She could win this, and she would, and she would let no one stop her. RE: What an eyeopener! - RIP Valette - July 25, 2015 Densa wasn't prepared for Nanook to jump her like that! She growled with sounded also like a gurgle. Soon that was replaced with a squeak when Nanook jumped her. Desna let out a more legit sounding growl and then tried to fight Nanook off her! Desna made sure to kick and make as much sounds as she possibly could to scare her sister off. She was boss and Nanook needed to stop jumping her! Desna wiggled and kicked and bit! For puppies it was a very severe fight actually. For Desna all her surroundings were vanishing too. She had to give Nanook a kick in the butt and make her back off! She wasn't going to get jumped. She was the boss, the super wolf! Another little growl sounded and she tried to push Nanook back. RE: What an eyeopener! - Scarlett - July 25, 2015 Scarlett was amazed when Xan opened his eyes. She was amazed by how her son's eyes looked. They were beautiful! She reached to him and nuzzled him. "Hello cutie," she smiled and licked his face clean so his eyes were all perfect. Scarlett's tail was wagging, until she saw the puppy fight going on, it was quite the sight and Scarlett grabbed Desna who was close to using a full body slam on top of her sister. She placed her on the other side of her body, close to the wall of the den so they both had a bit of a time out. Scarlett red eyes looked over Nanook and licked her. She didn't want anything to happen to her babies. Claws were growing and she didn't want their eyes to get damaged. She would make sure the two sisters would get along, time out necessary apparently. "Are you okay, little girl?," she asked Nanook. Desna was a heavy weight she didn't want others to get hurt. RE: What an eyeopener! - Xan - July 25, 2015 The boy let out an audible squeak of surprise when his mother's tongue went over his face, having been distracted by the fact that he was seeing. He could see his mother, his sisters, his home—he could see everything. It was new, yes, but it did not frighten the young boy. Something in the back of his mind told him that what he was experiencing was not something to fear, but something that he should embrace. He believed that seeing was something he should cherish, as it was something that could so easily be snatched away from him by anyone. Even one of his sisters could take it from him, whether it be on purpose or by accident, and somehow he understood that. What he didn't realize at first, however, was that blinking was a necessary thing. His eyes started to get dry, and even burned a little bit, which caused them to shut. The flicker of darkness was a quick one, something that would easily go unnoticed the more he did it, and it made his eyes feel so much better. Xan's attention was drawn away from his new discovery and to his squabbling sisters, however. They were really going at it, and he couldn't help but scrunch up his face in response to their actions. Little did he know that he would be the troublemaker when they were a bit older, and not his darling sisters. The future aside, as only the present was known to the boy, he kept his gaze on his siblings. Even as his mother lifted the larger girl away, his optics would flicker back and forth between the places the two were located at. He couldn't help but find it funny that they'd gotten into trouble, though his face did not show it. Serves them right for causing so much noise! RE: What an eyeopener! - Nanook - July 25, 2015 Nanook crashed into her sister with the ferocity she could muster, and the world blurred around her. Feet barrelled against her belly and chest, but she fought back with all the fury her sister dealt. The den spun, and half the time Nanook spent staring at the ceiling and the other half the floor. But one thing remained constant, her darker sister's face locked with hers at every twist and tumble and kick. And then Desna's face disappeared. Nanook scrambled to her paws, her heart beating every vein in her tiny body. She found her nose working to find where Desna had gone - she couldn't have just disappeared. But mama's rough tongue found her first and Nanook backed away. The wet rub spiked her fur in the opposite direction and the sensation tingled her spine, but the warrior paid little heed to the discomfort. Where had Desna gone? It was then she noticed Xan in her peripheral, glancing between her and a spot on mama's other side, and her churning mind clicked. That must be where Desna was, and mama was in the way. Tilting her head she fixed mama with the hardest glare she could give, but eased to her haunches. She couldn't get around mama yet - she was even bigger than Desna - but her mind already worked to find another way around. After all, mama couldn't watch her forever. RE: What an eyeopener! - RIP Valette - July 26, 2015 Lets wrap this thread up! Last round? :D
Densa was super confused when she was suddenly picked up by her mother. She struggled and squeaked because she wanted to tell Nanook what she was doing was not to her liking! But she was placed between her mother and the den wall. She let out a whine and maybe if she climbed over her mommy then she could totally do a super wolf jump and crush Nanook. Oh yes perfect! Her mother wasn't paying attention, but then Desna decided that she might as well could crawl around her mommy! Desna tried, and moved around her mother's tail, her crawling wasn't very silent with her belly dragging. Her focus only took so long because then she smelled her mother's milk and soon moved into the other direction. She happily latched on. She had been such a super fighter that she was really hungry. Desna was very proud of herself. She was even more pleased when her belly started to get full with warm milk. RE: What an eyeopener! - Scarlett - July 26, 2015 Nanook was more than right that Scarlett couldn't watch them all the time. She needed her sleep too, and frankly Scarlett was more than sleepy already. She noticed that Desna had crawled from behind her when she started to drink from her mother. Scarlett picked up Nanook placing it next to her sisters because Scarlett felt like she would need some feeding too after that wrestling fight. She nudged her baby close. Scarlett was very keen on having her babies feed. She wanted them super healthy and strong. Desna seemed to make use of that and was becoming fatter each day. Scarlett decided that she liked her babies fat and cute, because then they would have more than enough supplements to grow strong. Plus, every baby had puppy fat. They would grow into it quickly enough, especially after the first month, then it would go extra hard. Scarlett cherished this moment when they were still so small and were only a bunch of squeaky potatoes. RE: What an eyeopener! - Xan - July 26, 2015 Sounds good! Last post from me.
Xan was unaware that he'd given his larger sister's location away to the other, but even if he had been, he probably wouldn't have cared. What the other two did had no effect on him, just as long as they stayed quiet while doing it. He watched, in silence, as the giant child started working her way around their mother, and kept staring until she'd gotten distracted by the idea of food. Sometimes, he suspected milk was the only thing she really cared about, but then he'd remind himself that he would spend about the same amount of time nursing. The girl had been stingy in the womb, had come out large, and was now continuing to make herself larger while the others just ate to live. If he could, he'd smirk at that, and would probably poke fun at her size a lot as they grew older. The boy's gaze was then drawn to his other sister, as she was lifted up and placed by Desna to nurse. For once, his stomach was not urging him to follow after them. Instead, his mind was telling him to continue to look around, to see as many things as he was able to from the safety of the den. The boy did crawl a bit closer to his mother, but still kept enough distance to allow himself to move his head and body as he pleased. He spent his time looking around the den, taking in all the colours and shapes, until finally he'd seen everything. The boy then proceeded to lay down, his eyes finding their way to the light shining in through the entrance. He wondered what was out there, and why it was so bright, but didn't yet have the strength to make the long journey over to it—not that he'd be able to get out, anyways. So, the boy just laid there quietly, listening to the noises around him and watching the outside light. He really did wonder what was out there... |
