attacks in the night - Raziel - July 24, 2015 i figured they could have a thread @Cry plus, warden thread.
That morning found the silver Alpha pacing by the infirmary den entrance, trying to get rid of a splitting headache. Obviously he had herbs that could reverse it, but he didn't want to end up relying on them. He was already relying on Poppy, he didn't need another herb to ruin his life. No. That couldn't happen. Besides, he knew why he was having this headache and truthfully it had more to do with...mental issues than physical problems. He hadn't taken Poppy yesterday and well...now, the consequences were catching up with him. He actually managed to take a break once from relying on Poppy but ever since the flood, the stress had been catching up on him, leading him to.... Thank the gods that Scarlett was asleep in his den when his first attack in a long time came. It had been right after they transported the kids to his den and they were all asleep from the flood ordeal, except for him. And then it happened. He quickly took the medicine, which solved most of the problem. He was lucky that his supply of the seeds were still plentiful, because gods know what would happen if there had been none. Perhaps he might have died. Raziel decided to go on a patrol to think things through, or maybe have a chat with a packmate to clear his mind. He shook his head, wanting to get rid of the worrying thoughts and trotted up the pathway to where the borders were. RE: attacks in the night - Cry - July 24, 2015 «Lawl Lawl Lawl, I set the same ordeal different time in another thread. xD» Cry lapped more of the thin freshwater spring that was conveniently near his den he had choose to inhabit. A spacious place, high on a cliff-like location within the border, but far enough away from others members of the pack he strove to be one of. So far, so good. He stared off the edge, having at the beauty of the Valley in its light of morn. It was incredible. Cry terribly missed the the sea, the sounds of the saline liquid crashing into itself, the Bay, owning all in its might. However, like all things that came and went in his life, he moved on. And got over it. After leaving the low rocky steeps, he began his circuit, positive he had a few hours to go before either of the pups awoke. Farther ahead of him walked a wolf who's pelt he had recognized. Raziel. A bit of a lope was what the obsidian male took on, and swiftly caught up with his Alpha. On the silver's right flank, he walked. Never overstepping the formation, but stride for stride matched. RE: attacks in the night - Raziel - July 24, 2015 Raziel has secret sickness... :P
Lost in his thoughts, Raziel let his instincts take over. Walk. Lift a hind leg, piss. A tree. Rear up on hind legs and scratch your scent on the bark. Kick some grass. Repeat. Patrolling was something he enjoyed doing despite the fact that some did not like doing it. It was boring to some, he understood that because once, he thought it boring too but now with the burden of being a leader on his shoulders, it simply gave him time to think through his problems. That was what he liked about patrolling. It helped that he knew who was contributing to the pack too. He was shook out of his thoughts when a familiar form appeared by his side. A velvety silver ear swiveled towards the newcomer's direction, and a flash of teal eyes was spared. So far, Cry was working hard within the pack, he kept his word. "How's pack life?" he asked the man next to him with a cant of his head, he wasn't one for small talk but he figured that talking would help him think of other things instead of...that. RE: attacks in the night - Cry - July 24, 2015 «that sounds like amazing plot. I'm down. » Cry had no problem adjusting to the life he had been told to make himself worthwhile for. None. It beat being a loner, that was for damn sure. No complication had arisen, and the onyx was going to keep it that way. "I'm still alive, filling caches, marking land, and going to sleep with a full belly, so no complaints here." The mysterious Cry had no way to thank the Alpha, other than with actions alone. He was one who didn't prefer words for his reasons. "I've encountered pups. Two, so far. One by the name of Xan, and the other was unknown to me, however he did keep repeating names of other wolves. Peeridot, and Bulder. " The collected hessian kept his midnight auds appropriately scanning, but turned his glacials to Raziel, question in his gaze. RE: attacks in the night - Raziel - July 24, 2015 Raziel chuckled softly at the ebony wolf's reply. "Good," the alpha male simply said, pausing for a moment to lift a hind leg and spray his scent on the borders. "It's nice to see you're keeping your word," he flashed his companion a brief glance before continuing forward. His steps silent and his movements swift and graceful as a shadow. His job was not only to remark the scent line after all, but to keep an eye out for any unwelcome strangers and one had to be alert to do that. The silver lupine's ears flicked towards the ebony when he said that he had encountered the pups. Two, so far. One was Xan and the other was unknown but he kept repeating names of other wolves. That would be the newbie, Raziel assumed, because no one else would be uttering these strange words. If he noticed the question in Cry's gaze, he gave no notice, but simply kept his silence and did his job for a moment longer, contemplating how to reply. "Xan needs a good sharp lesson on respect. He's smart, but he needs to learn that the world does not revolve around him," Raziel stated, kicking some grass as he did so, the scent glands on his paws doing the job of remarking. "The other one you encountered has cream colored fur right?" he didn't give Cry a chance to answer. "We named him Leo Bearclaw. Scarlett and I found him by the borders the other day. I didn't want to keep him because who would dump a child on the borders unless they knew someone, like Scarlett, would take care of him. It smells fishy. But she insisted, so we're taking care of him for now. Those names he uttered, maybe it's from his previous family." He smiled to himself. "I quite like him now, though." RE: attacks in the night - Cry - July 24, 2015 "I've found myself lured to him, as well Raziel. Not only for his temperament, but for this mystery surrounding him." Another flint rake of claws down a tree passed, then the perturbed spy spoke. "A girl I had caught near the borders, Raziel. She knew of this child. This Leo. I had played with him and Xan earlier yesterday, and his scent was still on my shoulder. I had chased her out a farther distance of the border, and she caught scent of the pup. Her name was Cyn, and she was lost from her pack, due to the storm. Her pack is BlackFeather, Raziel. That pup is from BlackFeather. " The three year old sent his face forward after giving his Alpha the information he aquired from the half fooled half conniving wretch. "I set up a meeting with the dame later tonight to receive more info on what she believes is the exchange of my life. She, however, isn't even as educated in the customs of her own pack as I am of it, so I left her standing there, and finished patrol." Finally he turned to the stone sheathed leader to hear his input on the situation. RE: attacks in the night - Raziel - July 24, 2015 Raziel listened as Cry told his story. He had caught a girl near the borders, and apparently she knew Leo. He said that he had played with he and Xan earlier and so his scent was still on the ebony. He chased her out so she was a good distance away and the girl caught the scent of the pup. Her name was Cyn and she was lost from her pack due to the storm. The more the ebony spoke, the more intently the Alpha listened and while the story itself was enough to garner half of his attention, his last words made the keeper of secrets stop in his pawsteps. "Blackfeather," he repeated, as if in a trance, and was about to speak but Cry was not finished. He said he had set up a meeting with her later tonight to receive more information. "You know of this pack?" he asked with a tilt of his head, curious about Cry's past but decided not to probe further there yet. He allowed various thoughts to run through his head as he analysed the situation with growing anxiety, a feeling of foreboding having descended upon him. Calm down, calm down. "Kove and Scarlett, the parents of Xan and the rest of the litter were Alphas before me. Kove used to be of the Blackfeather pack and was a member of this cult they have called the Dark Brotherhood. As you can probably guess from it's name, it isn't a friendly place. Anyways, before I was Alpha, Scarlett told me that they wanted to have an alliance with this Blackfeather pack but I, at that time was Beta, disapproved. I didn't like the sound of this pack at all, and I didn't like alliances anyways so the alliance was never confirmed but I'm assuming that the veterans of this Blackfeather pack think we are their allies as Kove was once one of them." Raziel scowled. "If this Cyn girl goes back to Blackfeather, we probably won't be in danger as I'm assuming that they assume we're allies with them. So we could keep things this way and allow them to come to us. Or we could bring the kid over there and end this once and for all. What do you think we should do?" RE: attacks in the night - Cry - July 24, 2015 The story was returned with one of his own, the sterling, and Cry internally breathed a sigh of relief. He hadn't fucked up, just yet. A squirrel missed an overhead branch, and landed on its back, a few paces ahead of the color contrasted men, and the paralyzed prey had the unfortunate death of slow suffocation as Cry deftly buried it, resuming strife with the Alpha. "A close uncle of mine, Slade his name is.. Or was, depending on whether he's still alive, or not, was one of the most important members of the BlackFeather in its beginning of making. He was quite respected in the band of outlandish wolves there. He bore mark of The Dark Brotherhood, that single crimson paw atop his shoulder. I trained with him before my short days of pack life at the Sea were cut shorter by the storm." More scuttling above the pair nearly made Cry whip his banner in annoyance, but as always, he kept composed. "The one thing I trust in my uncle is his inability to trust pack over blood. He spilled the secrecy of the cult to me, their aspects on religion, and their manner of handling problems that stand in their way before a goal. " Giving his leader a solemn nod, he affirmed the choice. "You were right not to trust them, Raziel. They are reliant on stealth. They are assassins who distract one foe, and murder their closest asset. That asset could be Scarlet, if any of their numbers find out. As her death could cause the starvation of pups, perhaps a reason was for the pup being brought here. Maybe Leo's own mother passed, and some trusted the pup to be taken here. Someone in their lack has trust in this pack." "Or," Cry turned his stare to the morning sky, the clouds soft, but his irises hardening, a bit of the impact reaching his voice. "Someone could be seeing to frame BearClaw, Raziel, taking the pup without mothers consent, and attempting to start a war. " RE: attacks in the night - Raziel - July 24, 2015 Cry told him about his uncle who's name was Slade and was apparently one of the important members of Blackfeather in the beginning of it's creation. Apparently, he was quite respected and bore the mark of the Dark Brotherhood, the crimson paw on his shoulder. The ebony had trained with him before the storm came. Curiosity burned beneath his breast, a raging fire that could not be dominated sought to take control over the regal's body, but Raziel concealed it carefully behind his thin veil and concentrated on Cry's words. "Blood's thicker than water, eh?" Raziel managed to smirk. It was amusing how the pack of Blackfeather accepted this wolf into their fold thinking he would be utterly loyal to their cause just to have him spill the beans to a wolf who he was related to by blood. Mistakes happen, he thought to himself, secretly amused by this Slade. Raziel himself had no cult, Bearclaw had no damning secrets and he was suspicious to a fault so..... The more Cry said about the Dark Brotherhood, the more he disliked the pack, "Dishonorable bastards," he scowled. As a Roman, he hated those who killed dishonorably, he was a wolf who preferred justice over mercy and so would gladly slaughter those who wrongly kill others without blinking an eye. Obviously, he shared none of that with the ebony. Who knew? Cry might also be one of the blood's thicker than water wolves after all. "Or maybe someone knew that Bearclaw was a 'safe place' and dumped him here when Blackfeather Woods suffered from the impact of the storm," Raziel said thoughtfully, not knowing that his guess was the best of all of them. He shook his head, knowing that he needed a plan. "When you meet with the girl, say nothing about Leo. If they want the child, they can come and get him," he said firmly. "If the girl asks you questions, ask her questions in reply. Refrain from saying anything and if she becomes a pain in your arse, I trust you know what to do." RE: attacks in the night - Cry - July 24, 2015 Cry barked a chuckle at the manner in which the Alpha said Slade's moral code. "He seems to think that is the way to live life. But I feel as though we both know how misleading that can be." The silver lupine remarked on the unfit manner in which they killed, and Cry kept his mouth shut, knowing he had been brought up to learn such methods of murder. It wasn't a childhood one should have had, and scars such as his backs artwork of claw and fang proved such. However the shade did nod at the comment, giving his leader his image of approval at the vulgar title. Raziel poised his guess on the storm wrecking havoc on the Brotherhood, causing a member to bring the child to a haven. Just as plausible as the other guesses, but less inhumane. The sterling gave him the game plan on the follow up on meeting the female, and Cry was wary of the aggressive post, however all was bottled inside. With the clarity of submission, the midnight lupine gave a firm nod of his crown, coal ears crisply folded to face behind him. "It will be done." RE: attacks in the night - Raziel - July 24, 2015 last post :)
Raziel had been brought up in an abusive fashion too. He too had been taught to murder, to hurt, to torture because it was what his biological father wished him to know. He bore scars, many of them, underneath his sleek silver coat to answer for all the times he made mistakes, all those time he hesitated, all those times he made Aku unhappy. He would have become that monster too, had it not been for his little brother, the runt of the litter. Anselm was his tie to the world of the sane, Anselm kept him from becoming his father and however surprising it was, the runt saved him from the world of darkness. The Roman was shook out of his thoughts by Cry's words, saying that it would be done. "I expect no less," he stated calmly and continued on his patrol in silence. Now that that was taken care of, his thoughts drifted back to his....problem and the possible solutions. Yet, however much he thought, there was no solution, no solution at all, leaving him very annoyed. Nevermind, he would just enjoy Cry's company for the time being and hope things turn out fine in the end. |
