Lets kill tonight. - Scarlett - September 04, 2015

Scarlett trotted through the valley, keen on getting getting a good meal. She searched for one of the bigger game, without hunting on the resident deer population too much. They did have a few big horn sheep coming down from the high mountains, and she was keen on getting one of those. But she wasn't sure if they were down here. It would also be nice to have someone help her with Hunting. She howled, which echoed because of the high steep walls of the valley. The sun had settled after those high peaks. So the shadows were long and slowly taking over.

Scarlett hoped someone would respond. In the meanwhile she scouted the opened plains and rocky walls for any movement. She thought she saw a few coming down for the night, although she wasn't entirely sure.

Desna instantly perked up her ears when she heard her mommies how. She instantly got to her legs and rushed forward with her heavy bulk. She recently learned that she was able to use those strong teeth in her mouth, before her gums and small teeth were not good enough to get the meat of bones but now she realized after their last meal chewing was going way better. With her mommy calling for something she rushed forward, eager to help her mommy. She also needed to ask mommy where Leo was. She hadn't seen him in a long time. She was worried something bad happened to him.

Desna trotted forward, tail wagging. She was still a plump pup but it was clear that she would grow into her fat, though she would always be big. The girl had a bit of her father's build which meant that she would be a bit bigger than her mother in the end. "Mama!," she cried happily when she spotted her. Desna ran forward and greeted her excitedly. "Desna help!" The girl liked to help, just like her mother, but she did it more in a bossy way. People couldn't choose if they got her help. "Mommy! I haven't seen Leo in a long time!," she then quickly told her.

Scarlett looked up when she heard a voice of incoming help. She only had not expected one of her kids to come and help her out. She actually wanted an adult wolf with her to take down a bighorn sheep. But, seeing that Desna was so eager to help the mother couldn't really tell her no. Plus it would be good for the girl to see how her food was caught and how much effect came with it. Maybe that would slow Desna's eating habits down. She greeted her daughter with warm loving licks. "Thank you, Sweet Girl," she hummed.

She sat down for a moment when Desna asked about Leo. She sighed softly. "Leo isn't staying with us anymore, her mother picked him up," Scarlett explained to her daughter. She hated that she had to say goodbye to Leo but things had somehow settled down a bit more. Managing four was a bit less hectic than five. She then decided to distract Desna from her starter topic. "You wanted to help mommy, yes? Mommy wants to go hunting, so can you be a good girl and help me?," she asked. She wasn't really going to let Desna participate, it would be too dangerous, but it would be educational to maybe have her try and kill something today.

Desna melted a bit in to the warm kisses as a greeting. Yes, that is right! She was a good girl. She was the one that came and help her mommy after all. She let out an excited yip and licked her mother back. She nestled against her mommy and then looked up when she talked about Leo. Desna's ears fell back, not sure what to think about it. She wanted to reply but her mother switched the topic, and her young mind was therefor quickly distracted. Maybe she would ask about Leo later. Desna was very excited about this prospect of hunting.

The girl let out an excited yip once more and then jumped forward. "Desna help! Yes! I want to KILL!!!," she let out excitedly in a way that it sounded very non threatening that she wanted to kill in the first place. "I'm good mommy! I'm good! Please let me help!" The girl was clearly over the moon and was pleased she responded to her mother's howl. She was a little fat bounce ball before her mother.

Scarlett chuckled when he girl was so excited to be hunting. "Okay first you need to be very quiet, you can't let the prey hear you because they will run away," she explained. "Follow me." Scarlett moved into the grass without making a sound. She knew her path would be big enough for Desna to follow. The young mother trotted forward, she was looking for possible prey to take down. Before her on the field she saw a group of bighorn sheep. She stopped and then looked for Desna. "You see them? We have to pick one that looks weak. Which one looks weak to you," she asked her little girl. This would be a good exercise for the young girl.

Scarlett herself picked out one female that looked weak since she had a slight limp, you only saw it when she was walking. But the big male could create some trouble since Scarlett was all alone...

Desna nodded, she had heard this before. She didn't let out a squeak anymore and followed her mother. It was very difficult not to giggle because this was all very exciting for the little girl. Once her mother stopped walking she walked on to stand between her front legs. Her hazel colored eyes scanned the group before them. It was very difficult to see because they all looked the same. Then she saw the biggest one and nudged her mommy. "That big one," she whispered, because that meant more good. Desna knew the aspect of bigger = more.

Her tail wagged excitedly at the prospect of food. The dark colored pup was already picturing how she would catch the biggest prey and then could eat it all. She would have a very round tummy, not that she minded that, because she liked the idea of a very round tummy.

Scarlett looked down as the pup gave a suggestion. It was endearing but not the right answer. "No," she whispered back. "That is the most dangerous one, because he protects the females,' she explained to her young. The mother whispered softly and then made her look to the one she had in mind. "Desna look at that one at the end close by the water... when it walks it has a limp. It walks funny." Scarlett stepped away from Desna and then lowered herself. "You stay here and watch. Look what I am doing and then I will bring the prey to you if I caught it." Scarlett gave her a red eyed glance that she meant it. She didn't want Desna to be trampled in her excitement to join.

The mother trotted forward low to the ground, around the group of bighorn sheep, this was she stayed hidden even for their noses. The mother then started to creep closer and waited for a moment before running and trying to attack the limping sheep. Her eyes were mindful of the big male, but since all were so startled by the sudden appearance the male had more trouble chasing his other females back rather than caring about the limping one. Scarlett bit down in the limping leg, almost getting a kick but she managed to let go just in time. The she stumbled and Scarlett knew she had it. The mother clamped her jaws down started dragging the struggling sheep. She made a big wound in her prey's neck before she looked up, certain that the exhaust sheep kept laying down. "Desna? You can come out now!," she called. "You want to kill it?," she asked, knowing that the sheep would bleed out within minutes but it would give the pup a sense of making the kill.

Desna's ears fell back when her mother said that she was wrong. So big wasn't always good then, she needed to remember that. The little girl then looked at the one her mother pointed out but didn't see anything funny it its walk. Her brain needed to learn walking patterns of different types of animals, and then learn what was off and what was a normal walk. Desna might still be too young to see that. Her mother then told her to stay. She wanted to protest but that warning glance made her go back into the grass. She watched her mother get closer and closer!! They didn't even notice her!! Desna was amazed because with her all the other animals would run away!! She would need to learn this low crouching like her mom did!

Desna watched and held her breath. It was very exciting to watch and she was coming more and more out of the grass because she was literally on the edge of her seat. But her mother told her to wait so she inched back again. The girl didn't waste a second when Scarlett called her. Desna rushed forward, a little blop of dark grays running forward. Ha! This was exciting, her tail was going crazy. "Yes!! Yes wanna," she spoke and chomped on the sheep's shoulder. Which clearly had no effect. She let go and tried again but the deer was still moving. She looked questioningly at her mother, confused where to bite. "How do I kill?"

RE: Lets kill tonight. - Scarlett - September 11, 2015

Scarlett chuckled at the cuteness of Desna trying to chomp down on the sheep. The animal was very dazed and was still struggling a bit. "At the neck where I bit. You have to use your super bite and hold it till you feel no pulse going past your teeth anymore," she explained to her young one. She supervised in the meanwhile. Looking around to see if the big male would return. Scarlett realized they all fled back to the mountain. It would take a few days before they would return once more. Scarlett walked around and started opening the belly. The delicious soft organs were perfect for Desna to eat with a lot of nutrients, so of course Scarlett would give that to her young one.

The light female ate the more tougher organs, which she also really liked. She was proud of her little girl. She listened well and hoped that she had learned today that hunting could be a struggle. Meaning, her food was not that easy to get. Scarlett did not blame herself for having Desna so fat. She didn't really want to deny her pups anything. She had lived on lack of food and Scarlett never wanted to do that to her own young.

Desna looked at her mommy and then nodded. She clamped her mouth down on the neck and tried to hold her grip down. She could feel a week blood pulse going past her teeth so she tried to give more pressure. Naturally the female wasn't that strong yet, and didn't know the deer was slowly bleeding to death. Once the pulse stopped and her muzzle was smeared with blood she looked up proudly. "Mommy! I did it!," she let out and then rushed to her. Desna was happy to dig into her food. Her mommy had been nice enough to take the soft organs out for her. She happily started nomming down on her food with her mommy by her side. She had learned a lot from today. She wanted to tell her siblings or better show them!! She killed the sheep!!

RE: Lets kill tonight. - Scarlett - September 13, 2015

Scarlett smiled and licked over the top of Desna's head. "You did, I'm proud of you little one," she hummed happily. She let Desna eat who was doing a rather good job of it. She barely had to chew things for her daughter. The pale female ate with her daughter. For her it took more time to fill her stomach. Scarlett had her three other babies and if they didn't want to go to the carcass she could always have some quick meal for them ready. She ate till she was stuffed. Laying down with a happy hum.

She cleaned her daughter and chatted with the girl for a few moments. Even Desna seemed to be tired and Scarlett had to carry her back to the rendezvous site.
