hold on to your heart. - Harlyn - September 19, 2015

Hoping to catch a wild @Riordan or Eshe or @Bhreac or @Valtýr :)

Though Harlyn had set out meaning to busy herself as she usually did that day, a whim struck her that she couldn't shake.  Even as she picked her way along the Hollow, sniffing at the ground, searching for scents that would lead her to the herbs she sought.  What she uncovered instead was a little pool.  It was shallow, and though a thin stream was flowing into and out of it, the water seemed still as she touched her paw to it.

Deciding to blow off her responsibilities for a few minutes at least, Harlyn turned and walked along the edge of the pool to where the stream continued.  She followed it along for a few minutes until a sound caught her attention - a series of little croaks and then a splash.  The druid stopped to sniff eagerly at the bank at her side, quickly picking up the scent of the amphibians that apparently lived there.

Her tail wagged as she lifted her head to peer across the banks for a ripple of water that would reveal their location.  Frogs weren't exactly a filling meal, but anything they can store in a cache was good enough for her.  So really, she was still helping her pack and being attentive to her responsibilities.  The fact that frog hunting was a little more fun and silly than hunting larger game was just a bonus.

RE: hold on to your heart. - RIP Riordan - September 28, 2015

He'd gotten a bit carried away with things, which wasn't unusual. But it did leave Riordan in a sticky situation - literally. Having caught sight of a swarm of bugs within the forest, he had followed their tiny selves all the way to a nice husk of beehive. It was a few feet above his head, which meant to reach it he'd have to stand on his hind legs. That was the easy part - because the hive was still a touch too high for him, even if he reached out and hopped a little bit.

After a few hours of hopping, straining, and even grabbing a big stick and trying to wield it with his big mouth, all he had to show for it was -- well, a pelt covered head-to-shoulders with thick honey, and a very angry swarm of bees chasing after him. So when he emerged at the pool's edge, he was running full-tilt, ignoring everything in his path as he  plummeted towards the water. The swarm was right behind him, and closing fast.

RE: hold on to your heart. - Harlyn - October 26, 2015

Since Riordan has poofed, anyone else want to join me?  I don't mind forward dating!

Harlyn heard him long before she saw him.  Someone was crashing through the woods, recklessly, and far faster than anyone should ever being going in a thickly wooded area.  She looked up from the water's edge and peered into the distance, listening intently and waiting.  When finally she spotted him, she had to dive to the side to narrowly avoid him crashing right into her.

By the time the altercation was over, Harlyn was drenched in water and the racing packmate had raced right away.  The druid's eyes were wide and staring off after him.  She considered chasing him down, but he was moving at such breakneck speed that she doubted she could catch up with him.  She stepped up onto dry land and shook her pelt hard, sending drops of water flying all over.  With a pout, she realized that her quarry had probably made a run for it in her moment of distraction.  Well, it was probably time to get back to work anyway...
