Where do I go from here? - Iris Luperca - September 30, 2015 @Lusa I hope this is the right prefix..
So far, her luck had run out. The momentary rush of adrenaline that she got when she finally set out on her own had drastically reduced to nothing, all in the matter of a few days. She had been hopeful when she found that other pack, in the snow mountains. But even they had disbanded, leaving her a Lone Wolf, again. She had not seen any of those packmates, no plan to move forward as a group in the absence of the Alpha, so she kept moving, to a warmer climate. She had liked where she ended up, a forest filled area that looked damaged from a storm. But yet, the land flourished and seemed a decent area so spend the coming winter. Yet she knew she was not meant to stay a loner, not against the harsh elements of this new wild alone. She needed to find a pack, and soon. Lifting her nose to the air, she picked up the scent of a pack, not too far away. It came across her mind to venture out there, see if that pack was suitable for her. But she had a bad feeling about that one, the scents it gave off, it smelt almost like blood. A chill went down her spine, and she immediately headed the other way. What kind of pack was that, that gave off such a horrible feeling? She would make sure never to find out, or approach near there ever again. Instead she headed towards the sound of water, hoping to stop for a break before she continued her journey. The lake was surrounded by wildlife of all kinds, plants and animals alike. It seemed a peaceful place, and she could only imagine how it would look in the winter when it iced over, a shimmering crystal in the clearing. With any luck, she hoped to stay near here, to find a pack that wasn't too far away. But what may be, would be and she would have no say in what lied in her future. She lowered her head to a shallow edge of the lake, drinking in it's cool water. It was colder than she expected, and shivered at it's temperature. But it was pleasant, and she found herself wishing her brother could be there with her. She did the right thing though, leaving him. It was for the best. She lifted her head, eyes narrowed at the land around her. Was someone there? She had the feeling she wasn't alone at the lake. Letting out a chuff, she walked out around the large pine tree that stood beside her. Crouching down, she waited for the feeling to past as she silently observed from behind the bramble of a cluster of bushes. RE: Where do I go from here? - DeadLusa - September 30, 2015 Prefix just right! I'm gonna PP Chevalier through the thread :)
As soon as the family made their exit, the hotsprings were the first place she would go. She needed her sister's help in order to keep this band going. With Grimnir injured, she was the only one who could properly care for the pups. Lusa ordered her mate to let her do the hunting for the time being. They didn't have a healer. When the smell of water flowed into her nostrils, she was releived. They could use a drink before they head off. Slowly she lay Grimnir down, not wanting to cause him any pain. Her obsidian head turned to the side, seeing moss on the ground. She remembered that it could absorb water. It would be helpful at this time, so Lusa took some from the ground and carried it off towards the lake. Little did she know, her little knight was right behind her, carying his own patch of moss. When they had left Blackfeather, Chevalier was much more happy than before. He obviously didn't enjoy the dark woods. "What are we doing with this mother?", he asked in a cheery voice. "We're soaking them with water and bringing it back to your father," she replied, "It will make him feel better." He didn't say anything after that, only ran under her, tightly clamping onto his moss. When they reached the river, there was a white wolf drinking from the water. When Lusa stopped, Chev stopped. Was it Hayde? She expected her sister to be chilling in the hotsprings. Had she stopped and waited here? She stayed back until the woman went and rested by a tree, only then did the mother and son went by the river. Chevalier didn't mind the mystery wolf. He dipped the moss into the water and ignored her. It was the opposite for Lusa. She too dipped hef moss into the water, but her eyes were focused on the female. She knew that she couldn't just ignore her. She lifted her head and walked towards her, Chevalier following his mother. When she was close enough, Lusa dropped the moss to speak. "Hello," she greeted, lone wolf scent mixing in with the stale Blackfeather scent. "Are you looking for a home?" RE: Where do I go from here? - Iris Luperca - October 03, 2015 Sorry about the wait!
Iris stood back and watched the family, assumed to be traveling. Her eyes wandered to the children the dark female came with her, bundles of happiness and prosperity. She wondered what it was like to come from a loving home, a place of gratitude and health. She had never known those things, nor its origin but the sight of this family warmed a bit of her heart. She found herself drifting her thoughts to her brother, out there somewhere. She had kind of hoped that he would leave her parent's pack after her hasty departure but not scent of him had followed her. It was better like that anyways. Her mind blinked out of it's thoughts as she noticed the she-wolf in front of her, waiting for an answer. She found her voice, shaking the dazed look from her eyes. She refused to be assumed weak, especially with such an important question being asked of her. Are you looking for a home? Wasn't it always like that? Instantly, she nodded her head, her eyes set with a defining look in them. If this female was asking what she thought she was asking, she would readily accept. "Yes, actually. Why do you ask?" She asked in a cool, collected tone. Deep down, she was a warrior, a weapon in disguise. Something her parent's had never seen. RE: Where do I go from here? - DeadLusa - October 03, 2015 She got the answer she expected. Yes. Well today would be a lucky day for the female, now would it? It would be beneficial for both of them. If this female wished to join her, they had more protection and she would have wolves to look after her as well. You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. Lusa was going to open her mouth again, when Chevalier jumped into the women's face, eyes wide with excitement. "What's your name miss?", he asked. It seemed as though the boy took the words out of her mouth. She smiled down at her son. It was good he was more active and happy now. At Blackfeather, he kept to himself and didn't really care to listen to others. Out here he was different. More outgoing and cheerful. The young mother wondered why he hated Blackfeather so much. He never bothered to tell her. Her eyes switched from the sandy pup back to the female. "I ask because I would like to provide you with one. Me and my family are looking to create a new pack before winter brews. Interested?" RE: Where do I go from here? - Iris Luperca - October 07, 2015 Iris was taken aback at the sudden outburst from the child and from the invitation to join the traveling family's pack. Looking down, she smiled at the young one, excitement clearly printed on his face. "My name is Iris, i'm relatively new to the Teekon. What's your name, little man?" She asked, teasingly. Just looking at the boy made her happy, like her troubles were forgotten. But it wasn't that easy, a life changing question still faced her. Nodding, she looked the dark female straight in the eyes. "Yes, I will join your pack" She said, without the slightest hint of uncertainty. It was time to get over her brother, her pack, her parents and all that laid behind her. RE: Where do I go from here? - DeadLusa - October 10, 2015 She sat down, watching Chevalier walk closer to the female. "My name is Leo," he replied, glancing up at his mother for a brief second. Lusa could not grasp why he refused to use his real name. He never voiced out why he preferred Leo better, so it left her baffled. She was happy to hear that Iris wished to join their band. They required more members for the best. Two wolves just weren't enough to protect a whole territory. "Great. Is there any skills you offer?" RE: Where do I go from here? - Iris Luperca - October 11, 2015 Iris eagerly nodded, a clear expression she had a lot to offer. While she had not shown her talents in her old pack, she had a lot of skills to show, and now she was in a place where she would not be suppressed. "I am an excellent hunter, a gamekeeper and tracker. I also specialise in many forms of espionage, if such skills are needed in your pack" She replied, it feeling good to actually admit to her own strengths. She did not know what kind of pack Lusa's was, what tone they set. But so far, Lusa seemed nice and so her child, Leo. Even if it was not the kind she expected, she would adapt, like she had done in her previous life. Only one thing had she inherited from her family, the refined skills for a hunter and a tracker, making the job of also hiding her trail all the more easier. While her brother was an expert on finding others, she was better at hiding. She had been successful so far, so she knew she had to be doing something right. Her past would never catch up to her, she would personally see to it. RE: Where do I go from here? - DeadLusa - October 12, 2015 We can archive after my next post :) The skills that Iris mentioned were great to the dark coated alpha. Lusa did not specialize in gamekeeper and she wasn't sure if Grimnir was. Having someone with such a skill would be very useful. The fact that she was good at spying was also music to her ears. "As the time comes, we will possibly need such a skill," she answered, referring to the espionage. She then turned around, starting to take a few steps away. She beckoned for Chevalier and Iris to follow. Of course, her son obeyed, bounding forward with his moss tightly in his jaws. RE: Where do I go from here? - Iris Luperca - November 04, 2015 Sorry about the delay!
Iris bowed her head in thanks as the Alpha approved her skills. It felt good to be recognised, to be wanted. And alas she found herself a leader that noted such skills as praise and not as mandatory appreciation. Nodding her head, she followed close behind the onyx Alpha and her child. This was the dawn of a great feat, despite her previous failures. All her loyalty was pledged to this family, yet a little flicker of uncertainty burned at the back of her mind. The winter would be harsh, and depending on what it brang, the "pack" could go two ways. Yet, she kept a blind eye to that fact, refusing to believe that the trust could possibly go only one way. A new day, a new dawn, a new start. Don't mess up. She repeated in her mind, blocking out all other thoughts. She would never walk into battle with no weapon but this wasn't a battle, it was a war. A war against herself that she would have to face alone. All instinct pushed her one way and she headed the other. Clearing her mind, she trudged forward, her eyes fixed forward to the direction of their camp. The only light that she could seen in her uncertain future. RE: Where do I go from here? - DeadLusa - November 24, 2015 OMG I FORGOT ABOUT THIS D: Gonna wrap this up!
So it was certain. The snow coated female had decided to follow, to Lusa's happiness. The more wolves coming along, the better. The dark female was glad to have another adult around. With three pups, they would need a lot of attention. For hunting, fighting, and just plain happiness. It was a great gain to have Iris around. Fin |
