There's no place like home. - Currawong - November 27, 2015

Open! :)

Redhawk was different. Out of all the terrains he had lived in before, Redhawk had felt the moist at home. He had dealt with plains, mountains and coasts but Redhawk was territory that felt the most survivable. The lush, deep grassland and greenery was pelted with rocks assumably from the mountain that resided there, giving a rugged challenge despite it's serenity. He was yet to meet the pack, having only just joined. From what he could tell, it was a decent sized pack, not oversized nor under. It was tight knitted packs that felt more united, he found. However, the season were changing and with that he sought out a den to spend the winter or at least for a little while until the snow fell from the sky.

Nearing the south of the territory, he found himself looking over the plains of grass that ruffled angrily against the wind. The setting reminded him of the Plains, where he had first attempted to join a pack. The encounter seemed a distant memory then, Redhawk having give him a new start to a very complicated journey. Nevertheless, he expect his scent to be mixed in around the territory, hopefully catching the recondensation of some of the members. The last thing he needed was to be attack on the suspicion of being a trespasser. His entry was different, the first time he had been asked if he wanted to join instead of seeking their approval. Maybe it was a sign things would be different, that his bad luck had finally run out. His thoughts were redirected to his sister, Iris. Where she was, he did not know. Ironically, while he had no idea, she had taken comfort in the band of wolves who were attempting to land their territory right beside Redhawk. If he had known this knowledge, circumstances would have been different. Yet, he was content without that knowledge. Finally happy without his past catching up to him.

Sniffing out an old fox den, he crouched down to inspect its durability. It was big enough to fit his upper body, but his rump was another story. If he could hollow it out even more without it collapsing, it would do fine for a decent amount of time. Managing to extent his front paws out in front of him, he sunk his nails into the ground, attempting to pull away with some dirt. While he had succeeded in digging out some more of the base of the den, he was not able to pull his large shoulder frame from the entry of the den. Pushing his weight down on his hind legs, he tried to pull his frame free from the wretched hole. To no avail did he get free, slumping down in forfeit to the hole. To make matters worse, his frame was blocking most of the air flow, making it stuffy and sweat inducted despite the cold temperatures outside. He could only hope some other came by before the night fell with his butt completely exposed to the freezing temperatures.

RE: There's no place like home. - Somnia - January 03, 2016

I'll jump in even though it might mess with my timeline. :)

While out and about in the Caldera's lands, Somnia found herself an interesting sight. A large black rump was sticking out of a fox hole. Unquestionably, the owner to the rump was inside. Somnia stifled an immature giggle at the thought of the rump not having an owner. She almost thought it was Peregrine at first, as he was the only large, black wolf she knew. However, upon closer inspection, this wolf carried a different, unknown scent that held traces of her packmates. For a moment she was surprised, for Somnia had forgotten that with her absence, there was bound to be a shift in the members as loners came and packmates left.

Somnia crept closer without being too loud, mistaking his intentions for being in the hole. It wasn't uncommon to try to flush small game out of the ground, or even do some remodeling to their homes to reach them. "Anything good in there?" Somnia asked softly once she was besides him. There was no need to scare anything that was in there away. She almost offered to go in there to try and reach it instead, as she was smaller and could probably get farther in. However, not sure whether there was something in there or not, she decided to wait until she got an answer to her first question.

Thanks for jumping in! :3

As his skin became more heated in the struggle of freedom, panic arised from within. What if he never got free, if these were the last moments he would have on this fine earth. The smell of sweat and fox piss was adamant in the air. So this is how I go out? No, it wouldn't do. A muffled voice from behind him gave him the new will to free himself. Though he did not know who this person was, speaking to him; he could only guess it was one of his packmates. "Ah yes, it's uh.. quite cozy in here," He panted, trying to seem calm.

If these were first impressions, he'd best better play it out like he knew what he was doing. "In fact, I love it so much, I've permanently stuck myself here for the rest of my days," His voice dripping with innocent sarcasm. He was not familiar with sarcasm and had no idea that he was even doing, but the last thing he wanted was to come off as rude. Though he was infact, quite stuck. And his packmate would realise it after he pushed back on his hind legs, struggling to free himself once more.
