I Miss the Taste of a Sweeter Life - Hecate - November 23, 2015

Slap me if I spelled any of the bold words wrong >.<
Hecate walked lightly through the forest. Looking only what is in front of her, she hummed a small tune. She forced herself to keep walking.
Front right paw, right left paw, back right paw, and back left paw. Repeat. She gave a tired sigh.
The trees blocked out the warm sun. Hecate didn't really mind, though. The only thing that was upsetting her that she wouldn't be able to see the stars when it became dark.
Shelter, I need to find shelter.
With her ears up, she was on guard, not to let anything go past her. She heard the rustle of leaves. She almost  winced, she didn't hear much in a while. She froze before saying, "Hello?" Just to be sure, she tried a couple other languages. "Bonjour?"
"Marhabaan?"
"Chaírete?"
"Hallo?"
"Salve?"
She frowned when there was no answer, yet she stayed still.

To stay in a single place for a long period of time was far from being a specialty of his. Even during the gelid months of fall and winter, he couldn’t contain himself to a single location for long. Though he believed staying within the pack’s boundaries might be for the better, that wasn’t enough to keep him from leaving. He was getting too close to them, after all, and was beginning to truly feel at home amongst them. That was something he couldn’t allow to happen, less he wanted to be left behind again. It was thoughts like that, ones centered on being abandoned that caused a shiver to make its way down his spine. He could not afford to be left behind again, to have to set out a find another pack to join. The Greek wasn’t so sure his heart would be able to take it, thus he kept himself as distanced as he could get away with. That often led to him lingering around the borders and, such as he’d done not too long ago, crossing over them.

Alastor trekked through the forest that laid at the base of the mountain, nothing planned other than a quest for some time to himself. It felt strange to him, the solitary life he’d confined himself to. By nature, the Greek was a social being, always so cheerful and ready to brighten up someone’s mood, but it seemed like those days were far behind him. Nowadays, his own mood shifted depending on how well he could act out false emotions, and on how much time he’d give himself away from the other wolves of Silvertip. His mood was brightened more so than usual as he wandered deeper into the woods, the distance between himself and the pack’s land doing well on his mental and emotional health. A content sigh escaped him, the first one in a long while, as he walked aimlessly. He did not bother with intentionally keeping himself quiet, since he was not out to hunt, track, or anything else of the sort. The male was simply out to take in a breath of fresh air, though his originally intentions were tossed away when he heard an unfamiliar voice.

Along with the unknown voice came words he didn’t know, each one sounding far more different than the last. One of the words, however, stood out to him, catching his attention right off the bat and pushing him to move forward. His earlier worries were forgotten and his eyes seemed to beam with joy as he spotted the female, one question quickly making its way out of his maw; Μπορείτε μιλούν την Ελληνική γλώσσα ;

RE: I Miss the Taste of a Sweeter Life - Hecate - November 29, 2015

Sorry if I had bad grammar, I was in a rush!

Hecate had her ears up, still believing that there must've been something that had caused the sound. Suddenly, a grey wolf had appeared. "Μπορείτε μιλούν την Ελληνική γλώσσα ;", he had said. Before saying anything, she gave a quick nod.
"Ναι , μιλάω αυτό, είναι ένα από τα αγαππμένα μου .", she replied, her tail slowly moving from side to side.

She gave a small smile, not many wolves speak the language anymore.

She inspected the new wolf. He seemed young, about her age, maybe? His eyes were blue, bright blue. His coat was a mixture of greys and blacks, and a little white. She tilted her head, to hear his opinion.

RE: I Miss the Taste of a Sweeter Life - Alastor - November 29, 2015

The male wasn’t entirely sure what he was expecting the outcome to be when he’d approached the woman, but thus far, it seemed to be going well. She spoke the language of his birthplace, the language he’d always loved so much. It was his first tongue, in a way, since he’d always heard Greek more than English while growing up. Έχουν περάσει αιώνες από τότε που άκουσα κάποιον άλλο να μιλήσει τη γλώσσα αυτή ... he admitted, offering up a hesitant sway of his tail. To hear someone else forming the words that were so familiar to him was exciting, lighting up his expression entirely for the first time in a while. Εισαι απο ΕΛΛΑΔΑ? he asked, growing curious of the woman. Perhaps she knew of the place he’d been born, or at least knew of somewhere close to it. He didn’t stop to consider the possibility that, perhaps, she wasn’t even from the same country as himself. There were other ways to learn a language aside from being born in the place that used it, but in his state of joy, he didn’t stop to think about that.

He offered a polite dip of his head, the motion formal but not submissive. Το όνομά μου είναι Αλάστωρ Βρανά , the foreigner stated, a small smile finding its way onto his face. At that, he gave a slight tilt of his cranium, icy gaze focused solely on the girl. Alastor remained quiet as he awaited her answers, though it was difficult to keep himself from growing impatient. The intense amount of positive emotions he was feeling urged him to demand an answer right away, but being the polite wolf he is, he kept himself from rushing her.

RE: I Miss the Taste of a Sweeter Life - Hecate - December 02, 2015

The wolf seemed so excited once he heard her answer. She swished her tail from side to side, more confidence. "Are you from Greece?", the wolf asked and Hecate translated easily.

Something seemed off to the black wolf. She ignored it and nodded. Her pack had started in Greece, but it kept moving. She paced in the same spot, nervous. Alastor, Alastor Vranas. That was the wolf's name. Her ears twitched at the sound of his voice. She opened her mouth, "Εκάτη Τenebris Bellator". It was funny, having a Latin last name, yet her first being Greek.

The wolf stared at her with his bright, blue eyes, which seemed almost her's. Before she could stop herself, she asked, "Είσαι από ένα πακέτο ;"

RE: I Miss the Taste of a Sweeter Life - Alastor - December 08, 2015

This got… interesting? lmao

The demeanor his presence was met with had his emotions settling into a constant flow of positivity. Delighted, blithe, beatific, cheery… it didn’t matter which word was used to describe his mood, for the simple form of each was ‘happy’. Since his daring escape from his kidnappers, he’d discovered that few spoke the tongue of his motherland. This time around, however, he’d crossed paths with someone who not only knew the language of his people, but was also one of his kind. Foreigners wandering lands their paws were never meant to touch, but, by some twist of fate, both had ended up defying that very law. They’d both found themselves trekking over unfamiliar soils, and both had been set on a course leading them towards the day on which they’d meet. It was the work of the Moirai—that he was certain of.

A name was given, then. Her name was given. Her given name was one he rather enjoyed, the sound of each syllable drawing him in further and further. The second name, along with her family name, were strange to him. They were not of Greek origins, and the way each was pronounced had him suspecting she was, perhaps, of Roman descent. Alas, he dare not voice his suspicions, not knowing enough of the other language or culture to know for sure, as well as not wanting to risk frightening away his chance at a new friend—or something more. That thought had him mentally scolding himself, his mind urging him to think rationally. It was only moments ago that they’d met, yet there he was thinking of the Moirai and something stronger than a friendship developing between the two of them. It wasn’t right, he knew, thus he took a second to clear his mind of any wicked notions. Once his senses had returned to their rightful order, he gave another polite bow of his crown, as well as offered up the sincerest of smiles. έχετε ένα αρκετά δελεαστική όνομα, the male murmured, meaning to compliment her, but hesitant when wondering of how she might react. Alastor’s mother had raised him to be a gentlemen, to never force anyone into something they were uncomfortable with, so he was weary with concern of how she might interpret his expression.

Softly, and as discretely as was manageable, the argent wolf cleared his throat. Her question caught him off guard, though he was quick to regain his composure. εγω ειμαι, he answered, his verbal response then paired with a slow nod of his head. Those few words brought a tidal wave of memories back to him, even though he’d spent more time away from home than he’d spent within it. While his time there was cut short, he still missed it greatly. There was nothing he wouldn’t give to return to his place of birth someday, though he had reason to doubt it would ever happen. Reality was a cruel and merciless thing at times, but he knew, deep down, that he needed to face the facts. Using his muzzle, he pointed out the peak that he called home—Silvertip Mountain—even though it didn’t quite feel like one within his heart. He didn’t know why he’d told her everything, but hoped the large amount of information wouldn’t push her away. Τι σας; Alastor grew silent as he waited to hear what she had to share. He could smell no current pack scents on her body, but was reluctant to trust that little detail. He knew of few packs in the area, after all, so who was he to say she was lacking the scent of one? He couldn't assume such a thing, he wouldn't allow himself to.

RE: I Miss the Taste of a Sweeter Life - Hecate - December 08, 2015

Hecate's tail slowed down, going in a slow pace. She wanted to stay here forever. The sound of his Greek voice slipped through the air smoothly. It was comforting, hearing the Greek language, like cuddling up on a cold night. Her ears twitched as he kept talking. She gave a small smile as he complemented her name. "Ευχαριοτώ", she said softly.
So Alastor was from a pack, one in the mountains. He didn't seem like he had liked it as much as his old one. She nodded, showing that she was listening.
When he asked about her, she almost winced. She hoped that he wouldn't have asked, even though she knew he would. Her ears twitched. "Γεννήθηκα σε ένα πακέτο στην Ελλάδα. Αν και, μετά, το πακέτο αναγκάστηκε να μετακομίσει. Είχαμε πάρει νεοσύλλεκτους από πολλά διαφορετικά μέρη, και ως άλφα, έμαθα σχεδόν όλες τις γλώσσες οι λύκοι μίλησε. Το πακέτο χτυπήθηκε με μια πλημμύρα και ... "
She hesitated, licking her lips. "Το όλο πακέτο πνίγηκε." Her voice cracked yet she still kept talking. "Ήμουν ο μόνος που επέζησε γιατί ήταν μακριά από το έδαφος, ψάχνει για τα αρωματικά φυτά."
She blinked the tears out of her eyes, her vision foggy. Her legs suddenly became weak, but she held her place. She didn't want to break down here. It felt good, letting the words out, but also painful.

RE: I Miss the Taste of a Sweeter Life - Alastor - December 08, 2015

The compliment he’d offered had been accepted, much to his pleasure. To upset her would have been a terrible thing for numerous reasons, making him exceptionally thankful for her understanding of his words. To some, perhaps it would have been taken as if he was attempting to flirt, though that wasn’t the case. While his mind had been momentarily flooded with irrational ideas, he was not one to chase after anything and everything with a pulse. Still… he couldn’t help but wonder what the outcome would have been had his statement been accepted under false beliefs. It was an answerless query, of course, though dropping it from his conscious would be far easier said than done. He was thankful when the topic of conversation was focused solely on her and her story, for it subdued any troublesome concoctions his mind might have attempted to create. It wasn’t long, however, before he wished he could have remained amongst himself, for the tale shared was anything but light.

A frown took over the foreigner’s features, icy eyes holding nothing but sympathy towards her past experience. Though he knew not a single soul lost on that dark day, his heart went out to the lives that were stolen. Alastor’s voice came out soft, the concern that laced his tone easily detectable. When he was a young boy, he had lost his sister, and the pain he’d felt had remained within his very essence ever since. It was an unshakeable feeling, the distress that came with losing someone so close practically unbearable at times. For him, however, it had been only one life. The life of his sister, though very dear and precious to him, seemed so small in comparison to the lives of an entire pack. Είμαι βέβαιος ότι είναι καλά ληφθεί μέριμνα του στον Κάτω Κόσμο, the argent male noted, attempting to brighten up her mood. While he doubted his ability to do so given what she’d been put through, that did not deter him from wishing to at least try. It would have been a great honour, and he wanted to believe that they’d all lived lives marvelous enough to earn them each a place there. Alastor hoped his words would be enough, for when he met her watery eyes with his clear ones, he nearly crumbled.

RE: I Miss the Taste of a Sweeter Life - Hecate - December 09, 2015

Hecate licked her lips again, her throat dry. Swallowing down the lump in her throat, she opened her mouth. "Αυτοί ήταν ισχυροί πολεμιστές.", she said, her voice only above a whisper.
Everything she knew, everyone she loved, gone. Even worse, she found bodies of some of her pack.
She shook her head. Get a grip, Hecate, there is no time for tears, she scolded herself. "Δεν μπορώ να σταθώ στο παρελθόν, ή θα ήθελα να μείνω εκεί για πάντα." , she said, repeating what her mother always told her, even though she didn't want to let go.
The fog had been creeping closer as they spoke. A sudden cold burst of wind made her shiver and dried her tears. Her eyes seemed grey, like the fog.
Her ears twitched nervously as the idea of going back into the cold almost destroyed her. She already was hungry, and now cold. Her tail now was only shifting from side to side.

RE: I Miss the Taste of a Sweeter Life - Alastor - December 13, 2015

The male could understand the pain she held, as well as the sense of loss she felt when thinking of her pack. It was a sensation he knew all too well. He’d been taken away from his birth pack, and there were times in which he feared the fate that had fallen upon them. Were they still well? Were his family members alive and happy? They were questions that filled his mind every single time he felt even an ounce of joy, but no one could provide him with any answers. He knew nothing any longer of the home he'd once treasured, the home he had once swore to protect. Perhaps it was the fact that he didn’t know that made him feel as if he could relate to the woman before him now. He may not have witnessed any of their deaths firsthand, but that didn’t mean lives hadn’t ended. He was unable to obtain closure, thereby sentencing him to a life of constantly feeling what Hecate currently felt.

It was then that words of wisdom were spoken, and he couldn’t help but nod in response to them. Living in the past was not an ideal thing to do, and he hoped, for her sake, she’d be able to move on someday. Not forget what happened, but accept it and know that she didn’t have to worry any longer about the lives taken away. Their souls were resting easy, awaiting their turns to be reincarnated. They were not troubled by the affairs of those currently walking the earth, so there was no reason to worry for them. They were fine, he believed, and that was what really mattered in the end.

Alastor’s thoughts were cut short as a chilled breeze passed by, ruffling his thick coat, but unable to penetrate it and reach his skin. It seemed his new acquaintance was not so lucky, however, as a shiver racked her form. Κρυωνεις? he asked, concern evident in his facial features. He glanced at the area surrounding them, attempting to locate a place for her to take shelter in, but came up empty-handed. Then, an idea struck him. Perhaps his reasoning for placing the idea in her head was a selfish one, but he couldn’t help but do so. To have another Greek wolf around would be a pleasant thing, and so he hoped she might seek out the leaders someday in order to join.

RE: I Miss the Taste of a Sweeter Life - Hecate - December 14, 2015

I got logged out and the whole post got deleted :/
The cold slowly crept up into her bones, refusing to move. She wanted to curl up somewhere in a shelter, safe and warm. When Alastor had asked if she was cold, she gave small nod. Pride wasn't important enough for her now. Once he brought up the topic of wolves in winter, she blinked, though she kept her eyes closed a little too long. She almost wished she could just fade away...
Suddenly, Alastor began to speak again, a moment later. "Θα ήθελα πολύ να.", she said quickly. What he said seemed fake, too good to be true. "Είστε σίγουροι άλφα σας θα είναι εντάξει με αυτό;", she asked, a moment later.
She wasn't scared of fighting, it was she wasn't in the best conditions to fight. Plus she could never fight a whole pack. She looked at Alastor, looking for signs that this was a trick. But she found none.

RE: I Miss the Taste of a Sweeter Life - Alastor - December 18, 2015

Oh, man, that must have sucked! D:

Upon receiving a confirmation that she was, indeed, cold, he tried to mentally concoct a solution. The trees surrounding them already did well to keep majority of the winds from touching them, but clearly that alone was not enough. Again, he turned his head this way and that, eyes scouring the area in search of a makeshift shelter—or anything that would provide a barrier against the wintry breeze. It was a sad thing, the fact that items could not magically appear. Just like his first glance around, the second presented him with nothing. Subconsciously, he knew they could simply change location in the hopes of finding a place to better protect them, but he was not thinking so far ahead at the moment. The entirety of his thoughts held Hecate as the focal point, wanting to ensure his fellow foreigner did not fall ill. As if possessing minds of their own, his legs moved him closer to her with only slight hesitation. He kept himself at the side of her that would be most assaulted by any gusts of air, using his body as a shield. It was a friendly gesture, and something he wasn’t really affected by. After all, his coat was fairly thick even during the warmer months, making him the perfect space heater during the cold ones.

Alastor could not contain his excitement as she spoke, tail wagging lazily while he listened. Είμαι σίγουρος ότι θα είναι μια χαρά με την παρουσία σας, he returned, his words unwavering. He truly believed what he was saying, having recognized Fitz as being a kind wolf from the moment he’d first seen him. Of course, there was also the matter of Zaria, but he didn’t give her too much thought. As long as he made sure his new friend called forth the leading male, there shouldn’t be any problems—at least he hoped not.Δεν ήμουν στην καλύτερη κατάσταση, συναισθηματικά ή σωματικά, όταν βρέθηκε από την Άλφα Fitz. At times, he would look back on that day, all the while wondering what the pallid man had seen in him. Why he’d been recruited despite his condition at the time, and whether or not he’d only been welcomed to serve as a placeholder.

The words that left his mouth were somewhat strained, for he’d wished to put extra emphasis on them. He worried of what the she-wolf would do, how she would react to a stranger at their borders. While he trusted the pale leader’s judgement, and respected his decision to take the woman as his mate and co-leader, he still could not help but be distrustful of Zaria.

RE: I Miss the Taste of a Sweeter Life - Hecate - January 10, 2016

I will just wrap this up...

Hecate looked towards the sky, noticing how late it had become. She looked again at Alastor. In her mind, she gave a frustrated groan. She wanted to stay, yet she had to leave. She paced in the spot nervously. With a small nod, she said, "Πρέπει να φύγω."
She began to walk in the other direction, but she turned and said,"Θα ήταν ωραίο να σας γνωρίσουμε, Alastor."
She smiled before turning again and walking away into the unknown.

RE: I Miss the Taste of a Sweeter Life - Alastor - January 13, 2016

It had indeed begun to grow dark, the sun sinking down below the horizon as the moon claimed her nightly throne, but he hadn't expected that to be of any real issue. Despite how late it'd become, the male was rather enjoying their conversation, and had wished for it to last forever—or at least until he knew for sure he'd convinced her to go to Silvertip with him. In the end, however, it'd seemed they simply weren't meant to walk the same path in life. The moment she'd mentioned having to go, his tail drooped and ears fell back, clearly unhappy over her decision. Though he wished for her to stay longer, it'd seemed as if she'd already made up her mind. Like the gentleman he was, the foreigner accepted her words, even though he was truly sad to see her go.

"Σας εύχομαι ασφαλή ταξίδια..." he'd said, but the words had just barely managed to get out before she was gone. His icy gaze followed her form until he could no longer see her, and even after she'd disappeared he'd remained in place. It was refreshing to have met another who spoke the tongue of his family, but her need to leave had him feeling lost once more. After what felt like hours, Alastor had let a sigh slip passed his lips before turning and heading for the mountain. Someday, he hoped, their paths might cross again.
