Departure - Potema - December 09, 2015

Only post from me. @Damien @Burke @Cicero are welcome to post a response

Her time of grief was over. It was time for her to leave. Winter was coming soon, quite soon. She had lingered too long in these dark woods that is — was — her home. She needed not to remember this place as her home, for it would not be any longer. These people were her family, her distant family, family pushed aside for a new one to the South. She had no time for heartfelt and sorrowful goodbyes and farewells. Winter was coming, and she needed to leave.

The bone in her jaw was her mother's pelvis, as she suggested. It was large and strong with many places to inscribe a marking for a charm or curse. A part of her knew that the skull was more powerful, but her mother's skull belonged here. If she returned, when she returned, her mother's skull would have greater purposes than a monument to her mother. Yes, she would make sure of it.

The White Princess loped out of the border, pelvis in her jaw. Mongfionn followed, a leaf bundle in her talons. Potema walked south, her stride quick and urgent. She only stopped once, looking back at the dark forest. She blinked, and carefully laid the bone on the ground, tilting her head up to cry a farewell to her former family and pack before quickly gathering her things and moving on. She would be back. She saw it in her dreams. The time for mourning had passed.

RE: Departure - Cicero - December 10, 2015

No goodbyes were given. Cicero heard the howl and perked an ear. He was disappointed that Potema had not even taken her time for a personal good bye. Then, perhaps that was the reason why she had left abruptly. She did not want to see what she was leaving behind, or perhaps feared doubt once she would see Kendra and Pietro's faces.

After a moment of contemplation, Cicero lifted his head into the air and howled a farewell to his sister, wishing her good travels. He found himself hoping she succeeded in whatever she wished to achieve. When their paths would cross again, she would still be family, and Cicero felt certain that their paths would cross again, some day, however long or short it took.

RE: Departure - Burke - December 10, 2015

Burke laid by the den entrance when he heard the howl. His head lifted, snows were falling even in the thick dark woods. His ears turned to the howl, his heart sinking for a moment. Potema was leaving. His ears fell back but then he did throw his head back and howled a goodbye to her. It wasn't great to lose his daughter and another healer but it was for the best. The large male would miss her.

How many more wolves did he have to lose? Burke grew sad and placed his head against the ground. This wasn't going to end well for him if all the wolves he cared about would leave him. It would only make him more bitter and vile. His ears flattened, annoyed that he was too attached. Now he had to deal with the heartbreak.

RE: Departure - Damien - December 10, 2015

Damien knew before it happened that Potema would leave the woods. She hadn't hidden the fact that it had been Meldresi's last wish, and there was nothing Damien could do about it. He had offered to escort her until she found the place she was looking for, but Potema had refused, claiming that she would be fine on her own, and there wasn't much Damien could do after that but wait for her to just disappear. He trusted his sister would be fine with the mages and witches she was to find, but what worried him was the journey, which was too something Potema had been told to do on her own.

Damien's howl was evidently painful, he expressed just how much he wanted his sister to stay, but sat the same time, how much he wished her well on her journey. There was no turning back now, Potema was to become a priestess like Meldresi, and that wouldn't happen in Blackfeather Woods. Her gifts would go to waste without the right guidance.
