Don't you dare forget the sun - Vinnie - January 25, 2016 Vinnie wasn't highly disappointed at the previous pack rejecting her. If that was how they treated each other, then it was better. She lowered her nose to the ground, an all to familiar position. She was again, at a respectable distance from the border, in a submissive posture. She howled, a deep but friendly howl. If this pack judged her by her weight she would almost give up. She was in fact extremely skinny. Bones showed, but it was not because she was hungry, she was just skinny. Her body was made like this. RE: Don't you dare forget the sun - Lucani - January 26, 2016 Hallo there!
When the warm howl was sent up into the cold air, Lucani was nearby doing a round of the borders. She set out with a strong pace, long legs carrying her swiftly until the stranger came into sight — the submissive female was well-coated but looked very malnourished. Lucani wondered what her story was. Good day, she said lightly, unsmiling but polite. You called? RE: Don't you dare forget the sun - Gyda - January 26, 2016 Gyda had been running a patrol of the borders when the call had risen, cutting through the frigid air. The first loner to grace their borders. The howl at the borders was amiable enough sounding but the viking queen did not habitually trust this, especially because she could not yet see the wolf that had made it in question. It did not take the silver draped shield-maiden to come across the loner at her borders, but Lucani had beaten her to it, nevertheless. Gyda's posture was dominate upon her approach, signaling to the loner at her borders that she was the one in charge. A nod of acknowledgment was sent to the Gamma whom had beaten her to the punch, inviting the lone female to state her reasons for having called. She did not dismiss Lucani from the scene, letting it up to the Gamma if she wished to stay (perhaps she was going for guardian as Gyda herself was) she could and vice versa.
The potential reasons for the howl were easy enough to assume, though, and while the viking queen waited for the loner's response she took a moment to allow her chilled caribbean gaze asses her. Her fur was mottled colors of the earth but she was malnourished. Bones protruded beneath skin and fur and habitually this concerned the Scandinavian. Was she ill? Or just starving? Would she even be able to contribute? Yet the viking queen gave no voice to these concerns, nor did anything change the stoic expression she kept. RE: Don't you dare forget the sun - Lucani - February 14, 2016 Vinnie has gone inactive, so PPing her out of the thread and continuing with Gyda's permission. :)
Lucani gave a low bow to her stoic Queen, and stood aside so that she might regard the newcomer. She was slightly reminded of watching Eli's joining, but the tone of the meeting — and of course the players — was quite different. The key similarity here was Lucani's mere watching of the scene... and, of course, the fact that the stranger was found wanting. RE: Don't you dare forget the sun - Gyda - February 17, 2016 Gyda sent the loner at the Dragon's borders on her way, offering a simple explanation as to her reasoning. The woman that vanished from the sight of the viking queen and her subordinate did not appear to be hung up on the rejection though this was all Gyda could assume from the lack of protest and peaceful departure. Only when Gyda was satisfied that the woman had not played her for the fool and would return with her teeth bared did Gyda turn her attention from the vacant horizon to study Lucani. She'd met her once before, briefly, but what little she knew of the woman Gyda had learned from Thuringwethil. This, she decided, would not do. Knowing the basics of a wolf taken in by her co-queen was all well and good but Gyda was an active leader and thus strove to actively know her subordinates.
“Thank you for intercepting her Lucani,” The Scandinavian woman praised, offering the older woman a warm smile that held her gratitude. She had not necessarily needed to speak that she was pleased that Lucani had been vigilant but the shield-maiden felt that it was nice to give (and accordingly receive) praise. “Would you care to join me on a patrol sweep? I would like to get to know you better.” Gyda invited with a small gesture of her muzzle. RE: Don't you dare forget the sun - Lucani - February 21, 2016 Lucani gave a low nod of acknowledgement and respect — a sentiment doubled by their shared interest in communication. Thuringwethil was the Alpha she was more familiar with by far, but she'd been intrigued about Gyda the moment she'd heard her name. When the pack had been in its early days, Gyda had been afoot — both young Queens were admirable creatures in surprisingly different ways. It'd be my pleasure, she confirmed, and came to join her on a walk, submissive but gracefully at ease. Nothing in my life's a secret — I'm happy to answer any curiosity. As ever, she was far more interested in hearing about Gyda than talking about her own life, but the young one had expressed a desire to kick off the conversation with talk of Lucani, and so of course the healer would appease. |
