I didn't see this in the guidebook trades section, so I apologize in advance if i'm just blind. But, is there a requirement to how many posts you have to make in a thread for it to qualify for a Trade thread?

Nope! But the thread has to demonstrate the trade clearly; a single post won't do. You probably won't be able to demonstrate a trade enough in less than 3 posts as a rule of thumb :)
