let it spill quietly from your hands - Caiaphas - February 11, 2016 AW, but bonechewers especially welcome to cameo/join. set for today (the 11th), but keeping it vague due to this thread -
following her encounter with ferahgo, caiaphas had irritatedly set to marking ankyra's borders with a furious passion. each branch was agitated by her urine, each rock snagged fervently with her fur. she had patrolled the perimeters of the forest with extra vigil, snaking through the snow and fern to ensure the self-proclaimed pirate had not gone back and trespassed while she had performed her marking duties. that night she had slept fitfully (for a variety of reasons not exactly relating to her encounter with the pirate) and in the morning she had alerted @Vlad to her departure and had head southwest down the shore. she suspected the male had set shop somewhere along the coast -- he distinctively smelled of brine -- his tracks faded in and out of her progress and at length she grew frustrated and just simply traveled down the shore. as she drew closer to the tokota river one thing became apparent -- there was heavy traffic around the area, and it was obvious from tracks and scents alone the river's borders were frequently traveled. she was perplexed, however -- for the area bore no scent markings or declarations of claim. she picked her way towards the delta, where the river spilled into the ocean -- here she figured she could drink, rest briefly, and perhaps continue her investigations after a brief respite. RE: let it spill quietly from your hands - Wednesday - February 15, 2016 Wednesday trailed the length of the river, thinking on her injuries and wondering if she ought to press her luck and do what she could to plunder the stores of some (other) nearby pack. She was a woman spurred on by impulse. One could only imagine her potential if she put her energies into something more productive rather than destructive, but Wednesday was all for deconstructing when it came down to it. She built things up solely to topple things down. She had, hours ago, come from the island. She was not headed back to it yet, either, seeing as the inlet had not yet returned. There was plenty of time to waste. Having nothing to do, she thought she ought to perhaps hunt for something to do. Opportunity struck at random. Wednesday did not know the other was out investigating anything, but as they were present Wednesday had decided her next victim. She approached the other boldly, but did not posture or behave as though she was anything but curious. It was true, of course she was curious—but to add on to that, there was something more malevolent at play here. RE: let it spill quietly from your hands - Caiaphas - February 15, 2016 thanks for joining! would wednesday smell like ferahgo? dont want to PP
there was no mistaking the massive shadow that spilled over the pale sand -- nor the equally large leviathan that seemed to to command it. the rakish coyote lifted her jagged muzzle from the water in which she had lapped -- rivulets of liquid poured from her angled jaw and pattered into the stream. the she-wolf blinked, her fierce tourmaline gaze resting on the goliath that approached. she canted her muzzle skyward and inhaled, noting the brine and the blood that salted the pale wolf's scent. caiaphas' hackles raised slightly and shrewdly she watched the wolf for any sign of a limp or weakness. "run into a rough crowd lately?" the coywolf's voice was wry, and the inquiry loaded with some strange semblance of veiled entendre. RE: let it spill quietly from your hands - Wednesday - February 15, 2016 i think so, since she hadn't gone for a swim or anything!
The she-wolf did not notice the other taking stock of her despite the fact that the other seemed to be her focus. Her mind was everywhere but upon the other as she drew nearer (not where it should be) up until the last moment, when at last Wednesday snapped to when the other spoke. By then, Wednesday was close enough to lunge at the other and hope for a chance to grip something... but she was given pause by the words. You might say that,in her monotone, straightlaced voice. Her bright yellow eyes looked beyond Caiaphas, and when no wolf could be seen Wednesday did in fact lurch toward the other. She wasn't in prime condition to fight given the events of previous days, but then, she had never been a bright wolf to begin with. Wednesday always seemed to look for a fight, wherever it was she went. RE: let it spill quietly from your hands - Caiaphas - February 15, 2016 by the time wednesday was nearly upon her, caiaphas caught the unmistakable scent of the very wolf she had been tracking. her hackles flared and a venomous snarl spat forth from her wrinkled muzzle as wednesday lurched close -- spittle flew and her ears flew forward in dominant assertion. "you're with ferahgo." she spat, her tail curling above her narrow hips as she eyed the wolf with clear suspicion. but it appeared the wolf was not slowing -- and caiaphas was not about to allow her to come into contact. "you're injured - back down or you'll be worse off." she pulled away from the wolf, trotting loftily in a circle to avoid contact as she drew closer. RE: let it spill quietly from your hands - Wednesday - February 15, 2016 The others words gave her pause. What would she gain from this? She might be worse off, and what was the point of fighting when there was nothing to gain? She was in no state to be throwing herself at others in such a way, but then, why not? She was able to come up with one reason: the woman who saved her, her paler-than-she lover. So Wednesday relented, though her visage did not give way to her anxieties of becoming injured. Her self-preservation came and went. No telling if it would leave her again. He's with me,she corrected, her one ear left flattening at the others snarl. He told me about you. The black and white bitch he couldn't get out of his head. There's a reward out for you,Wednesday tilted her head at the other, but for the moment stayed put. This put her correction in a strange light–but she never was one for thinking ahead. RE: let it spill quietly from your hands - Caiaphas - February 16, 2016 caiaphas's eyes followed wednesday's advancement -- yet even though the she-wolf paused, there was a sort of primordial energy around her caiaphas could not ignore. she was not convinced the wolf wouldn't change her tune in a hot minute -- after all, if she was anything like the captain it would only be a matter of time before things got physical. caiaphas kept her muzzle canted, her yellow eyes never once leaving wednesday's masculine visage. the wolf was much larger than caiaphas and she accounted for that as she broadened the radius of her circle around the wolf. "is that true?" caiaphas felt a delightful stroke of her ego flicker -- had she truly gotten that far under the wolf's skin? she hadn't gotten the impression that he had cared -- more that he had simply grown tired of her games. "what's the reward for reuniting the captain with an old friend?" caiaphas challenged the female's words carefully, a sly look overcoming her narrow features as she attempted to sleuth from the large female any tell-tale sign of guile. RE: let it spill quietly from your hands - Wednesday - February 16, 2016 Wednesday rounded the other as Caiaphas rounded her; there was a small island between them, and they were the sharks circling it. Here was the tiger shark to her 'great white', equally if not more so aggressive in its nature. While the first question went ignored, Wednesday did not miss a beat in answering the second. We get seconds,Wednesday divulged, nostrils flaring as she shrugged. It was clear that no matter what direction one shifted that saying, it mattered not to Wednesday. She was a woman who was gluttonous in every regard. The pale wolf continued in her movements, leering now, and then her expression shifted and turned thoughtful. Can you offer something better? I might be able to forget I ever saw you,she prompted, the sole ear left twitching and leaning forward. What an idea! She felt clever for it coming up with it, slow thinker that she oftentimes was. Wednesday was very much so a woman that could be bought. The best part of the farce was its lack of legitimacy—but no one had ever called Wednesday trustworthy. RE: let it spill quietly from your hands - Caiaphas - February 16, 2016 caiaphas continued the circle, and wednesday parried -- the two of them prowled, not unlike big cats deciding who would tear into the gazelle first. caiaphas's hackles remained flared and the seedy rims of her fiery gaze hardened. this wolf was trying to play her. the scullion halted, a formidable expression crossing her muzzle as her gaze pointedly grazed along wednesday's visible injuries. "no need to offer you anything -- in your state." the coywolf was quick -- the dryness of her words sharper than any weapon. "a lie. ferahgo knows where i live. there's a reason i know his name and i'm still alive." also a lie. a bold-faced, convincing lie. despite her inert position, she tensed herself lest wednesday loom within striking distance. she was not deadset in her conviction that wednesday was lying, but all the same, she felt a need to regain the upperhand in their strangely stilted conversation. "now, where can i find out dear captain these days?" RE: let it spill quietly from your hands - Wednesday - February 16, 2016 The bold lie was enough to unbalance Wednesday and her own lies fortitude. Her eyes narrowed, and it was hard to differentiate whether it was because she had been discovered or if it was because she was uncertain what next to do. She supposed one answered the other, but that supposing came slowly, like the approach of molasses. If Wednesday could be offended, she ought to have been by the slap of the words; as it was, it seemed she was only self-conscious only as far as her pale beloved was concerned. Any other time she accepted her grotesque and sorry state. And it was time to find out its limits. Even if said limits were pitiful, the only thing Wednesday needed to do was end up on top of the other and gain that advantage. Wednesday was convinced the other had caught her in her lie, and so she felt she had nothing to lose. And having only one bone of embarrassment in her body that belonged to the beautiful countess, she continued with her (believed to be) found out lie: Dead or alive, he said. Who cares why? You'll find out the answer to your question if you're living,Wednesday grinned, her ugly mug all the uglier for it, but I don't like the mouth on you. Of course, what she would next do was a dead giveaway. Wednesday was as bad as any movie villain, giving away her motive and her plan of action. So what was there to do next but fling her body weight in the direction of Caiaphas, and open her jaws to grab anything she could of the other? Nevermind her own vulnerable body parts, exposed and ripe for the taking! As long as she succeeded in the end. Wouldn't Ferahgo be pleased with this farce, with his latest gift because of her 'quick thinking'? There was more than enough time for Caiaphas to make a clean getaway as the numbskull fantasized, if she so pleased. RE: let it spill quietly from your hands - Caiaphas - February 17, 2016 caiaphas kept her gaze level, expecting some sort of catharthis for her shrewd observation. yet none came -- instead, only the looming terror of imminent threat. the large female lurched forward --caiaphas was not quick enough to spring away before her teeth grazed flank and hip, teeth shearing fur from her hide and a large welt of blood appearing. with a snarl caiaphas tried to counter by snapping teeth as she pivoted towards the side in a poorly planned attempt to escape any further advancement. her hip stung, but the graze was skin deep. "you'll pay for that," she seethed, picking up a trot as she circled the wolf as if looking hungrily for a weak point in which to exploit. she had no intention to attack, but she wanted wednesday to think otherwise. RE: let it spill quietly from your hands - Wednesday - February 19, 2016 nonsense but ne-way caiaphas is welcome to tear up her face!!!! if this is confusing or if i understood their position wrong... let me know
Wednesday sought to give the other no room in which to gather from her any semblance of weakness. Caiaphas connected in the very same area Wednesday had, but they both pulled away, and just as Caiaphas went to proclaim how she would pay, Wednesday went to withdraw probably more cash in the bank than she had in her savings—i.e. attack the two-toned woman again. The she-wolf herself seemed to lack self-preservation in the face of gaining a good and bloody wound on the other. If she succeeded, there was no doubt Caiaphas might as well. The difference was that Wednesday hoped to overwhelm the other entirely, to get her to run away or else perhaps get the woman to just come with her! In Caiaphas moving to the side, Wednesday simply moved to grab at the nearest back leg to her, turning and making a dive so that only her front-end would be able to be accessed by the other. She did not even seek to break it! Only savage it. But her face was ripe for the taking, sure to be destroyed itself if she hit her mark. RE: let it spill quietly from your hands - Caiaphas - February 24, 2016 if *i* made a mistake let me know! rofl! i think they're perpendicular in your thread? caiaphas basically tries to swing her haunch away/pivot to face her -- you're welcome to grab something else if you don't want caiaphas' face -- sorry if i messed up!
caiaphas hadn't expected the female to be so dumbly insistent -- no sooner had she tried to avoid the blow did another come -- this time the pale wolf dived downwards for one of caiaphas' trailing hocks. caiaphas turned aside, contorting her body to the best of her ability away from the lurching leviathan. wednesday's teeth would have found her mark were it not for the fact caiaphas had sprung wildly aside -- instead, she was met with a fistful of teeth as she bore down upon caiaphas. caiaphas felt wednesday's teeth score deeply down her cheek and she snarled in pain, issuing several snappy bites in a savage jaw-spar counter. so long as she kept wednesday directly in front of her she likely would not be disadvantaged -- but if wednesday flanked her caiaphas knew her victory in this encounter would be slim. RE: let it spill quietly from your hands - Wednesday - March 01, 2016 makes total sense !!!
Wednesday was met instead with teeth. Disappointed that she had missed her mark, but no less ambitious to hit a mark for it, the she-wolf swept a foreleg outward to catch a forelimb of Caiaphas. She compromised her own balance for the sake of it, but her end goal was to utilize her body-weight and force it upon Caiaphas, simply so she could be atop her. From there, Wednesday had no real plans; Ferahgo did not really want her, after all. The snappy bites of Caiaphas hit her face a score of times as Wednesday only sought to draw closer. Her savaged face was nothing for her to mourn; and though the marks hurt (as evidenced by sharp whimpers here and there, when one was particularly biting), she kept at her plan. RE: let it spill quietly from your hands - Caiaphas - March 11, 2016 wrap up? TY for the thread and sorry for my delay
caiaphas felt the sting of pain assuage her -- it consumed her senses and for a moment she seemed as if she were to set her fury entirely on the larger female. at the last moment rationalization seemed to seep into her and wide-eyed she sprung back from the forceful blow wednesday had launched directly at her. knocked off balance, caiaphas skittered towards the earth with a sharp wince. she sprung from the dirt as quick as she could and without looking, bolted at a pell-mell pace away from the much stronger female. |
