Group Story Time - Chaska - February 20, 2016

Calling all Silvertip

Chaska felt that it was time to do something big. To share something with the pack, something he could call his own. Something original. And what could be better than one of his personal favorites? A tale about group compassion, brotherhood and sisterhood, the good things that come from teamwork.

He howled at for the pack, calling for anyone who had time to spare. This was going to be a story to remember. A time he could remember, and a time to push the bad memories out of the way. He had it all planned out, beginning to end. It was also one of the first he heard, and had been told repeatedly to him.

RE: Group Story Time - FitzDutiful - February 20, 2016

He still wasn't happy about Neverwinter being claimed by the pack next door. The female he hated with a fervour he had never felt before; such passion for hatred he never knew could exist! Chaska's howl went up calling for those with time to listen and FitzDutiful made his way solemnly to the place. He needed to call a meeting, to get the opinion of his family on what they should do. If they were to run off the Neverwinter Forester's it made sense to do it now, while they were weak, than to do it when they matched.

He didn't care about the loss of a hunting ground, it was one they only went to for a bit of diversity but there were other forests around. The herds that lived their would begin to move with wolves living their permanently too. They weren't stupid. But now was a story, then was the meeting. He arrived, obviously with a weight hanging heavy over his head, and he greeted Chaska with a small smile while musing over the situation at hand.

RE: Group Story Time - Chaska - February 25, 2016

Chaska was glad that someone came along to listen. Even more so that it was Fitz, who no doubt had much more busier things to worry about. But Chas could tell there was something bothering him. He was usually more cheerful in his eyes. So maybe a story would be a good thing after all. His tail swayed back and forth a bit in a friendly manner.

"Fitz" he greeted with a dip of his head. "I was thinking of sharing another story..Though I hoped there'd be more" he murmured the last bit, glimpsing over Fitz's shoulder. Still, one was better than none. he seated himself, then waited for Fitz to get comfortable. He wasn't going to ask what was up, as he did not want to make his alpha feel down.

RE: Group Story Time - RIP Krypton - February 27, 2016

Krypton wants to hear a story :D

A howl brought the large girl towards the two males with a quick paced trot. It didn't sound urgent, but she would've liked to have been there quick. The alpha was there, along with Chaska. What were the two planning on doing? The earthy woman wouldn't ask yet, not until she arrived. She slowed her pace down a little, arriving to the meeting and sitting down near Chaska, giving both of them a gentle smile.

"Hello you two, what is the meeting about if I may ask?" Krypton was curious to say the least, she wanted to findĀ it out!

RE: Group Story Time - FitzDutiful - March 10, 2016

Sorry for the wait!

Chaska greeted him, and FitzDutiful nodded back in kind - forgetting he'd already greeted with a smile. Chaska mentioned hoping more would turn up and it seemed to call forth another participant. Krypton. She chose to sit near Chaska which left FitzDutiful a little out on the side. That was fine with him though. He'd rather be alone with his thoughts anyway.

Still, Krypton had asked a question and she didn't deserve to be ignored so he replied. "Chaska called it," with a little smile that ended up being a bit more grimace than smile. He then retreated back into himself and just waited for the tale to begin. Whatever it would be about. He hoped it would be something to help him figure out how to cohabit with a pack on their doorstep.

RE: Group Story Time - Chaska - March 14, 2016

Chaska was about to begin when another wolf came onto scene. He felt joyed that there were more than one to listen to his tale of the day. "Krypton. I was just preparing to tell a story. This one I planned to tell to a group, but two listeners will do" he explained with a light smile.

Once he was sure everyone was prepared, as well as himself, he cleared his throat and begun. "This tale is about a group of friends. One day, this group of friends ventured out from their territory, seeking new horizons. These friends had stuck with each other for most of their lives, except for one of them who was a recent friend of theirs. He was still shy around them, and normally lingered towards the back of the group. Upon one of their ventures, he strayed away from the group, lost in the wilderness." he paused there, awaiting a comment on how he was doing so far.

Fitz, just a heads up i did that mess-up thing again. but as you can see, it's all good now. i'll be very careful from here

RE: Group Story Time - RIP Krypton - March 15, 2016

Her question was answered by the superior, Chaska had called it. The said wolf then spoke. Saying he wished to tell a story. She smiled gently, waiting to hear the story from the older one.

He cleared his throat, then began to speak of the story. It captivated her attention, she stayed quiet and kept her eyes on Chaska, interested. Do go on Chaska she said excitedly, her tail wagging with content.

RE: Group Story Time - FitzDutiful - March 23, 2016

Krypton encouraged Chaska to continue while FitzDutiful sat sullenly. He was almost like a moody teenager and it was more obvious where Mason got his temperament from. For the first time in his life things had gone the opposite way to what he had planned; for the first time he was the one who had caused the wrong instead of being the one to fix the wrong - though he would do that soon too, or at least try to.

Instead he tried to focus on the story, and wondering who the recent friend was and whether the rest of the pack would go after their recent friend. They ought to, they should do, they owed it to him for being pack

RE: Group Story Time - Chaska - March 23, 2016

Krypton seemed eager for the storyteller to continue, whereas Fitzdutiful had something else on mind. Chaska couldn't help but feel worried for him, however said nothing about it, and continued on with his tale, his tail swishing in glee as it always did when he told a story of his.

"The wolf became lonesome, seeing that his friends did not look back. He felt that they did not care for him, so wandered on his own. Feeling as if he had no place among others. It wasn't long before he came upon a cave he decided to call home...Little did he know, that something else had already done so. Upon entering, a bear towered over him. The wolf felt that the end was near." He stopped there, a somewhat cheeky smile on his muzzle. He just loved a little cliffhanger like this. And also knew when a cliffhanger such as this happens, it draws utmost attention.

RE: Group Story Time - RIP Krypton - March 24, 2016

The story teller continued with his grand tale, Krypton was already leaning forward with excitement. As words formed and fell from his lips, she was left waiting to hear the end. A bear towering over a loner wolf, he was going to be dead. At least, that's what would normally happen. No bears where happy with wolves, vice versa anyways. It was just a matter of living with one another and avoiding each other.

Chaska's cliffhanger made her tail wag a mile a minute, her attention dead on Chaska. She formed no words, her face described everything. Curiosity.

RE: Group Story Time - FitzDutiful - March 26, 2016

The story continued and FitzDutiful tried his best to keep his mind off the things that were bothering him. He wasn't sure if he was successful to begin with or not for the wolf being on his own caused more heartache to FitzDutiful. He didn't like wolves to be alone and he felt deeper sorry at hearing it. His eyes stayed turned away from the group though his ears were flickering, showing his attention.

A bear came into the picture and FitzDutiful turned his eyes to the storyteller in their midst. His gaze was a little sharp and his movement sudden; a querying look came over him as he waited to find out what would happen.

RE: Group Story Time - Chaska - March 26, 2016

Now that he had more attention, thanks to his little cliffhanger, he brought his story to a close, "Against the bear, this wolf stood no chance. He knew that he was going to die...yet he did not. For one thing happened he did not see. His friends that he had lost, they came running to the rescue, howling their arrival. Their sheer numbers were enough to frighten the bear back, and gave them the chance to run. And from then on, he thought of two things; Never was he going to leave his friends, and never would he feel abandoned."

He brought his tale to a close there, with a satisfied look. "Can either of you guess the moral of this story?" he asked, looking between the two.

RE: Group Story Time - RIP Krypton - March 27, 2016

The story seemed to fade, for the lone wolf was rejoined with his friends in protection. Krypton wondered about the moral of the story, for Chaska asked her and FitzDutiful to guess it. She gave a long "Hmm" sound, dragging it along like a babe and it's special blanket.

Her head tilted to the left as her eyes stayed on the clear blue sky, still in thought. She could only smile in defeat and lower her eyes towards Chaska. "It appears I have nothing except don't doubt your friends." That was her best answer, though she wasn't sure if it was correct.

RE: Group Story Time - FitzDutiful - April 07, 2016

The moral of the story?

FitzDutiful wasn't good at reading into stories or trying to figure out what things meant but he gave it his best shot. He had once been a counsellor but had decided that trade wasn't for him and given it it - this only proved that he had made a good call that day. The wolf had had no chance against the bear but his friends came back and saved him because they worked together to enable themselves to run away from the bear.

Krypton started to speak with a hmm and FitzDutiful turned to look at her before speaking. She went with don't doubt your friends and FitzDutiful nodded his agreement, he decided to add something too. "Trust in those you call family." He waited to see what Chaska would say and if the two of them had hit the mark and fired way off target.

RE: Group Story Time - Chaska - April 07, 2016

Chaska nodded in confirmation, his tail wagging with encouragement and a smile to accompany it. Although he wouldn't have chosen those words exactly, they were close enough. And he added some of his own insight into it. "And don't always give up hope. There is always someone looking out for you." This he always believed to be true. Most of the time. Sometimes to him and others it never seemed that way, but that's because they give up too quickly. And that's what he tried to teach with this story. To never give up hope on each other.

Feel free to give a last post. If not, I'll fade here and archive. Thanks for letting me and Chas tell a story :)

RE: Group Story Time - RIP Krypton - April 13, 2016

Ooc: So sorry for the delay!!!

Ah, the storyteller had done it again. He had told a story that made Krypton think deep down about the moral. There is someone always looking for you... Don't give up hope...

With a smile, she dipped her head towards the two. The story was amazing Chaska, tell another one soon please she told him. Soon after, she stood up and returned to the border to give it a good scenting and check. Patrolling with the new pack so close by was very important to her, she would be sure to check that everything was intact.

RE: Group Story Time - FitzDutiful - April 15, 2016

Krypton said it was amazing and FitzDutiful echoed those sentiments after Chaska expanded upon the meaning of the story. He bumped Chaska affectionately as he walked past on his way to leave.

"Thank you," he said with a smile as he did so; "You've no idea quite how much that has helped me today." He wondered what would happen should war come to them, but in the meantime peace was the desired outcome and knowing others were around to help seemingly took a load off his shoulders.

"I'll see you soon." With that, he too, moved to border patrol.
