in a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws - Gavriel - March 24, 2016 This is awkward but I just wanted to get it up to keep things moving. PPing Seregrýn as needed. I'll let @Gyda reply first bringing Thurin until I reply... with myself, lmao.
It was not immediate Gavriel was taken to his Heda, given the time of night, but the three of them rested on the borders until morning. The weather had been clear, free of wind and not too much of a chill biting through their fur. However, the moment morning came to, Gavriel was much more antsy than he had been the night before. With the sun brightening the day, he’d shifted into an alert when he knew Gyda could be arriving any moment with Thuringwethil in tow. His chest tightened at the thought, knowing well enough she could disregard them all together and send them away. The large wolf turns, nipping at a still sleeping @Vercingetorix to wake him with a little grumbling. @Seregrýn stirred a little but Gavriel didn’t force her, unsure of how she’d act entirely and not wanting to light something under her ass that would ruin it for all of them. His younger brother was enough of a handful to ensure things went smoothly enough. Gavriel considered calling but he’d been given instructions to wait and so quietly, he makes himself comfortable—well, as much as he could—in a proper stance awaiting command. RE: in a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws - Gyda - March 25, 2016
Gyda had left the trio she had been introduced to the night previous, confident that with her return to her home to spend the night that they would not vanish with the coming morning. It seemed highly unlikely considering they had, or so Gavriel had said, come all this way to follow Heda. Gyda made the only promise she could keep to them: she would bring them Thuringwethil; and that was all she'd been willing to give. How Thuringwethil would react Gyda did not know, nor what her Heda would do with the trio of Seageda's wolves that had come to find her.
Gyda awoke with the rise of the sun and roused Heda from her slumber and bid her to follow. She was vague, not sure if she told Thuringwethil if the other woman would flat out refuse all together. “We are nearly there,” Gyda murmured in softened encouragement to Thuringwethil. As they neared, the viking queen noted that Gavriel (at least) was awake and waiting for them. “They are a trio, he claims they are from Seageda, and that they are loyal to you Heda,” Gyda spoke to Thuringwethil, glimpsing up at the darker woman as she slowed to a stop, curious as to how this exchange was fated to go. RE: in a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws - Antumbra - March 26, 2016 After her traveling from Nova Peak, Gyda had already been resting and Thuringwethil had taken up a few hours rest before the morning. It was little but enough that, when Gyda found her in slumber, had to wake her. She stretches her limbs but something is urgent enough to get her on her feet a lot sooner than she cares for. It's enough to keep things still business between them; they've barely gone into anything personal since their disagreement but no potential males in Drageda had warranted discussion. Gyda kept her in the dark for most of the way and she remained relaxed until they were close to the borders. The dark leader's shift of posture is smooth well before the smaller woman vocalized their announcement, before she see who they were greeting. The name Seageda sent a shiver down her spine and her fur bristles. She had considered sending Snacha back for information but quickly tucked it away for another time. Now, there are three of them at her doorstep. Heda thinks to ask her name but by then, the scent and sight is enough to answer any questions. Gavriel stands at attention, and her gaze falls hard upon him. Thuringwethil remains silent, moving from her older brother, to her younger, and finally upon Seregrýn. Her slate grey eyes widen slightly but she brushes it off, glancing back to Gyda for more of an explanation but she ultimately settled on the large male. RE: in a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws - Seregrýn - March 29, 2016 She was roused easily enough, having tried her best to have a restful sleep - but her eagerness to see Thuringwethil, and to be once more united with an equal, kept her mind whirling through the night. To think that the woman was right here, ready and willing to take them in --- it was not common for Sere to feel such joy, but she felt it now. They would reunite and things would return to normal. Or so Seregryn thought. The woman was led to them swiftly, and while Seregryn recognized the gray woman from before, she did not heed her; instead, her gaze met the heda briefly as Thuringwethil perused them. As soon as her attention drifted away, Seregryn's joy and enthusiasm fizzled; she felt doubt, and then - realizing it was Gavriel who was holding the spotlight - a keen indignation, swelling beneath her breast. Mentally she found herself demanding, look at me! The girl made a small noise, glancing at Gavriel, and wondered what made him so special. She was the Fos Goufa here -- she was the future. RE: in a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws - Gavriel - March 30, 2016 With anticipation high in his chest, Gavriel kept a glancing eye between his duo and the prospective way he imagined Heda would approach. There was little to offer in way of conversation, they all had a purpose and why they were here. If sent back home would be their action, they would do so; at least he and his younger brother would. He wasn't so sure about Seregrýn but the need to protect her had come up and he couldn't disappoint the wolves that would potentially be led by her. He swallowed a lump in his throat as he first saw Gyda, glancing quickly around to the regal form of a larger, darker wolf. It may have been months since he had last seen her, but she remained the same. Perhaps a little more filled out with her age, headed for maturity despite what she'd been through already. Gavriel lowered his head, and he glanced over to make sure the others did the same, but with silence upon them, he wasn't too sure if he should speak first. When there was a moment too long, he looked back in the direction of the dark wolf but avoided her face: "Heda. Seageda may be gone but we are still here; Seakru within Trikru and the Rockbound are faithful." RE: in a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws - Gyda - March 31, 2016
Gyda's attention flickered between Gavriel and Thuringwethil in equal measure, observant of their reactions to seeing one another. Gyda had no reason to think Gavriel as a liar, but Thuringwethil ...didn't seem to react to Gyda. Instead, her Heda glanced at her for more information she assumed but the shield-maiden retained her silence and turned a thoughtful eye back to Gavriel as it was where Thuringwethil's attention had seemed to settle. Only for a moment did the Viking Queen's gaze slip to the young girl who made a noise, as if it offended her that Thuringwethil did not pay her direct attention. The girl's dismissal of her position and presence their first meeting had not fallen beneath the sheild-maiden's notice, of whom did not take kindly to being disrespected so blatantly simply because some child perhaps thought herself better.
Gavriel spoke, however, reclaiming Gyda's scrutiny which smoothed as he offered Thuringwethil an explination, a proclamation of the trio's loyalty to her. “I did not make them any promises, Thuringwethil other than I would bring you to them to speak.” Gyda offered her Heda simply. As far as she was concerned, the decision on what to do with them belonged to Thuringwethil. They were her wolves and Gyda both acknowledged and respected that — just as she would expect of Thurin would any of Odinn's Cove find their way to the Teekon Wilds. RE: in a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws - Antumbra - April 02, 2016 It took a moment for things to get rolling. Seregrýn’s whine doesn’t go unnoticed and she only flicks her a quietening look before she returns to the other. Gyda informs the lack of promise at her borders and Gavriel explains the reasoning for their presence. The wolves still faithful—she knew she still had them—remained loyal and waiting for her word. Still, the trust between them had been broken over the last few months but she could hardly consider Gavriel wouldn’t be here if it weren’t true. There’s a wall between her and the three; their relation had never been forgotten but the disconnected hovered a shadow of a connection that never quite made it. Thuringwethil bites her tongue, glancing back over the trio, quite unsure of what to do with them. “Seregrýn,” she addresses, jerking her head for the girl to move closer. “You are to stay, we will talk later.” Having the Fos Goufa here might add more stress to her plate but she couldn’t risk not having someone to replace her reign upon Drageda. Her dark eyes watch her for a moment longer before returning to Gavriel. “There is a lot to catch up on.” Whether she would send one of them back to Trigeda for a message, she would decide later. Gavriel would need to remain for a while, for the both of them to catch up and determine the best form of communication with the other pack once he's reproved himself to still call himself Drageda. Vercingetorix, on the other hand, had more to prove but for now she doesn't worry herself about that; she'd find something for him in due time. RE: in a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws - Seregrýn - April 02, 2016 Short because idk what to dooo here
The only wolf within present company worthy of her attention was Thuringwethil; in fact, she believed the heda was her equal, and none other. So when finally the woman's attention lands upon her, and only her, Seregryn is beyond elated. The orders to linger are heeded, and the girl nods, the motion swift and precise - and this time she is silent when Thuringwethil looks to Gavriel. Sere looks forward to a private audience, and will make the most of it. RE: in a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws - Gavriel - April 06, 2016 Gavriel waited on his penance, as if showing up on her doorstep had been the wrong thing to do. Perhaps she would have sent messengers to Trigeda to retrieve her wolves, that she knew what she was doing, but he’d been unable to wait and he could always use Seregrýn as a trading chip. He stares elsewhere for a moment as he address the Fos Goufa and waits until she turns to him, informing them of her decision—as vague as it were—but he accepts nonetheless. |
