time sours, rots, renews, sours again - Sangilak - April 13, 2016 Sangilak moved along the borderline with her thoughts rampant. Lucani had not died that day, which intrigued Sangilak. For whatever reason, Thuringwethil had not killed the healer herself. And so the gray woman had not, in fact, perished. But she was greatly weakened and would require care. Knowing only the basics, Sangilak could provide none of that; her attempts to aid had been in vain that evening, as nothing Sangilak had done had been beneficial. The woman did not feel like a failure for that; not everyone could be saved, and Sangilak had very little interest in being a savior. She was more at ease in her role of the reaper, and as she lingered at the borderline Sangilak thought on this.
Her eyes sought the horizon. She was sure Tatkret would be due to return any day now with some measure of information for her. This was not her mountain; Sangilak knew one day she would have this but at present, she was situated in Drageda. She tested others, learned of their strengths and weaknesses. Still she knew little of the wolves above her in the ranks, though she desired to. @Hush was a small wolf she felt she could overtake if given an opportunity to. If he crossed her path this evening, she would try to do just that. There was a feeling of discontent brewing within the Epsilon, deep in her belly. A change that was approaching, but that had yet to arrive.
RE: time sours, rots, renews, sours again - Hush - April 14, 2016 Hush was still the highest-ranking male within Sleeping Dragon, only now he was at the top of the throng, only beneath the newly appointed Beta, the black female he had sparred with long ago, and the two Queens. Hush only saw this as a challenge. As Gamma, he had to prove his strength to the pack of hardened warriors. All of them were larger than him, being pure-blooded wolves, and obviously had a history in fighting. He did not. He was once a wanderer, a scout, but never was he a true fighter. The coywolfdog had the strong urge to finally achieve his trade and become the warrior that the pack deserved to have as a Gamma. He had seen what had happened to Lucani, their healer, and he did not want that to happen to himself. While he respected her as one of the founding members and their healer, he knew that she would not last long amidst them. And so he was right. Hush returned from another patrol, not yet exhausted by the tedious marking and guarding of the borders. He still had some energy left in him that he wished to expend if he was going to have a nice nap. As he passed the borders on his way to his den, he saw the familiar bearish woman that he had met on patrol once. With a gentle chuff he greeted her, his tail wagging softly at the familiar female as he walked forward. RE: time sours, rots, renews, sours again - Sangilak - April 25, 2016 The chuff was rewarded with a similar sound, and her ears flit atop her head as she watched him with ample interest. She adjusted her own posture to one that spoke of where she saw herself in the hierarchy. She was a hardened and experienced warrior, and he had a different demeanor altogether. It did not mean she saw him as a burden, but she simply knew she had the experience that merited respect, and the muscle to prove that point. Her own tail waved in turn; she enjoyed seeing him, knowing the man to be an active one that was not a waste of space. That was important to her. He was small, but he was a good wolf who worked for his keep, as they all ought to.
Sangilak continued along the borders, her step heavy. She marked as she went, and one ear flit backward to listen for Hush potentially joining her in her endeavor.
