The Swarm That Destroyed - Malice - April 29, 2016

Sorry to be late to the party, guys! This is basically Malice telling all of them to seek for any plants left (almost none) and revealing her pregnancy. this thread is mandatory.@Buffalo is free to come as well. didn't know you could actually add more if the ranks showed were full, my mistake! Welcome to the pack! Also don't know when @Byll will be coming back since her player hasn't been online for a while, but she is also free to join them. @Issun has, behind the scenes, probably warned the others so everyone knows about them. So yeah, ready for the drama? @Sage @Mitanni @Silver @Judas @Orgin @Belle Blue Wolf @Crius @Rhiannon

Malice sprinted, as good as she could with a pregnant body, away from the borders toward the log, their meeting place. Everywhere she looked, gray. Emptiness. No green at all. The once soothing, relaxing silence had become eerie, unsettling. Her stomach turned. What would this mean for Moonlit Hills? for the Dark Brotherhood? All of Teekon? Her children?

She reached the log and tried to climb on top, but failed the first time. Her back was sore, her head aching and she felt sick. She tried again, and with lots of struggling and yelping, she found herself on top of the log. A scarred face was now pointed at the sky, a long call for all Moonlit Wolves, even Buffalo and Byll, filling the moist air. She panted and sat down on the log. Fuck, she was tired. And there, she waited, not sure if the others had already left her to find a safer home.

RE: The Swarm That Destroyed - Buffalo - April 29, 2016

he was becoming restless -- byll had wandered off, and he hadn't seen her in some time. but his time near the moonlit wolves had added him to their ranks, over which he was rather pleased. when the queen's howl rose, buffalo was near, as always, and so entered the land for the first time without an escort, moving smoothly to the sound of her call.

the bugs that had descended on them had lifted, leaving beyond a stretch of barren, brown landscape in all directions. buffalo swore in disgust as he crushed several of them underfoot; he stood scowling and shaking slime from his paws, his features softening only in a smile for malice alone.

RE: The Swarm That Destroyed - Silver - April 29, 2016

The swarm, the swarm! Silver's paws fell fast as the call of Malice rung through. They took away the greens, they would take away their herds! They would take away everything! She feared the worst, Silver knew about the locusts attacks but had never experienced one before.

She was lucky to dive in a cave for a few days and wait out the swarm, but the damage was unsettling.

The barren land that was once Moonlit Hills scared her, but she continued to make her way over. She was not alone, nor first to arrive. Silver saw another wolf whom she didn't recognize. She was silent, but panted a bit from her running. She stayed silent, soon taking a seat far from the unknown and looking straight to Malice.

She seemed... larger than before.

RE: The Swarm That Destroyed - Orgin - April 29, 2016

Orgin had taken shelter in his den, as there was not much he could do. The bugs were ruthless in their ways, destroying every plant. He hadn't heard from anyone.

Until his alpha called, in which the Russian swiftly followed her voice. The panic was subtle but he could feel it. The destruction must've been on a large scale, as he could clearly see. Recognising her dark fur, and dipping his head for respect, he awaited the others; and how they would react. He, himself, was worried of the future of this pack, as it had given him a home.

RE: The Swarm That Destroyed - Judas - April 29, 2016

Judas came out at the howl. And there it was. What was left after the destruction. Nothing but barren lands. Less to no green at all left. The wolf side of Judas, he was scared at how much whatever did this had done. But the other side, he admired their work. Whatever did this.

He ignored the soft crunches under his paws, believing them to be just bugs that died from starvation. Or whatever else crunches under another's weight. "This is..startling to see" he admitted upon arriving, not believing what he saw. "I like it" the coyote side spoke in his mind. He ignored that comment, and looked around to see three wolves he had not seen nor met personally and Malice. That's where he stopped for a moment. She seemed to have...swelled. "Interesting" the voice spoke maniacally. He could guess why, and he would have none of that.

RE: The Swarm That Destroyed - Crius - April 30, 2016

Crius had been lounging around in his cramped little burrow, though when he awoke, he was greeted by the clicking of thousands of little wings as the Moonlit hills were destroyed. He had seen a locust invasion once before back home in the states; they were efficient little creatures eating and stripping whatever mass they wanted before moving on to the next.

After the insect pass, he'd need to make sure to check on the others and observe the damage to the hills, his experience with the flying plague may come in handy in rebuilding their home. First thing, of course, survey the damage around his burrow.

RE: The Swarm That Destroyed - Sage - April 30, 2016

Sage came when the call was heard, assuming it to be of the now stripped land of Phantom Hollow and what would become of Moonlit with the affects of locusts. She had been told stories of what they'd done, though the mere thought of it ever happening to her seemed impossible. Part of her wanted to cry, but would never admit such a thing allowed. Fortunately it had been easy to find shelter while the cloud of Satan attacked their land, and the hollow was likely less damaged than the plains as they were protected by the large trees – of course the ground was still barren of green for the most part.

RE: The Swarm That Destroyed - RIP Issun - May 01, 2016

Everything was gone. No green in sight. No plants to be found. The locusts had stripped their land to nothingness. Why was this a problem for wolves? Because without plants, the herds will move on and wolves will be forced into starvation. A famine. This included Moonlit's wolves and their future kin.

Issun arrived late, fear and unease on his face. The expression was quite foreign. The yearling took his place by Sage, keeping close to her. He looked to Malice, who was no doubt pregnant. His fear had grew.

RE: The Swarm That Destroyed - Mitanni - May 04, 2016

At the first sign of the locust invasion, Mitanni had sought shelter. The bugs, in such numerous quantities, made her skin crawl, and getting out and away from the swarm had been her first priority. She'd taken shelter in her den, wishing she'd had the forethought to seek out their healer's den instead for its added space and water source, but managed to wait out the worst of the damange inside her own personal accommodations.

It was the howl from her leader, once everything sounded calm and quiet outside, that drew the little brown wolf from her hiding spot. She expected to see a change, but was unprepared for the extensive damage that had been done in the wake of the traveling swarm. Her amber eyes stared wide with awe as she distractedly traveled to meet with her pack, delaying her arrival by trying to avoid stepping on as many of the bugs as she could. Eventually she had to give up, and disgustedly hurried across them to make up lost time.

By the time she reached the pack gathering, most of her pack mates were already there, standing or sitting around the log on which their leader waited. The eeriness of the wood was somewhat worsened by the devastation done to the forest, but being around the other wolves soothed some of that nervousness. She approached the group, scanning among them, and quietly, maybe a little anxiously, took a seat among them to focus her attention on her...larger-than-usual leader and hear what they would do.

RE: The Swarm That Destroyed - Rhiannon - May 06, 2016

Rhiannon had taken shelter from the worst of the locusts inside of her healer's den. Though the worst of it was now over, but what damage had such insects caused? She has never seen them before in her old home and never realized how destructive small insects could truly be. The female had wondered out of the den to inspect the damage, and when her eyes looked around her, her heart had sank. Everything that had been soft green growing grass before was now brown and dull, the shrubbery had been completely cleaned of its leaves leaving nothing but an eye sore.

The ash-coated female was about to venture further into the pack's territory when a familiar call rang out. Twitching her ears she realized it was the pack's Alphess Malice and the call sounded urgent which meant her survey of the land would just have to wait. Turning her body towards the sound of which the call had came from she took off in a sprint, wincing as she heard the crunching of the insects under her paws. Slowing down as she approached the other wolves Rhiannon realized she wasn't the first to arrive but also not the last. Looking around her she spotted a space that wasn't occupied that was far enough away from the others but still close enough to hear what Malice has to say. After taking a seat she then turned her attention to her alpha who was strangely larger than she was at their first encounter.

RE: The Swarm That Destroyed - Malice - May 10, 2016

Minor pp for Orgin and Sage since they haven't re-entered the game yet. After this meeting, the two of them have either been thrown out of the pack or have left themselves.

Malice looked proud and tired atop the log, glad not everyone had left her simply because of the panic that the locust attack had caused. She herself hadn't had that experience. She had been sleeping when it happened, trying to stop the aching pain of her body. She felt like vomiting, but had to keep whatever was left inside her body to remain there while food got scarce.

Welcome all! She started, eyes reaching every one of them with a serious yet sad face. I am glad you all have remained here with me through the attack of these insects. It means much to me to see your faces as hopeful as always. She said with only the hint of a smile playing on her lips. Without any green, the prey we hunted will flee and all berries are gone also. We have no other choice than to fish and feed off our caches. She informed.

If you come across any green, any speck of green in this wasteland of brown, let it be unless it's a herb. The sooner the green regrows, the sooner we'll get our prey back. The rule of not hunting behind the Greatwater Lake still stands as strong as always, but I don't think there is much to hunt at all anyway. Try to hunt birds, I am certain they will feast upon the bodies of the fallen locusts. She breathed in deeply as she turned her now round belly at her followers. She didn't know if they had already noticed or not, but she felt like it was more obvious this way.

As you can see, I am blessed with the possibility to provide offspring in such desperate times. The father, I bet you're curious about who is, is none other than the leader of the Dark Brotherhood. She paused to let that sink in and to glare at anyone with complaints about this before continuing. Burke and I, we had no idea this would be the fate of Teekon. If we had, chances are I wouldn't have been blessed until next year. Anyone that is not okay with my decisions, and that of Burke, may leave. Your judgement does not undo what has been done, so please leave without saying anything. She ended in a more stern voice. She looked around as both Orgin and Sage got up and left the scene. She snorted softly before turning her glare to the others that remained.

RE: The Swarm That Destroyed - Buffalo - May 17, 2016

malice spoke and buffalo listened, lifting a lip only when two wolves got up and moved away from the scene. hopefully the queen would boot their asses. as for the little ones, he admired her for coming clean. not many wolves would admit what she had. buffalo did not have anything to say, and so was silent, but he smiled encouragingly at malice all the same.

RE: The Swarm That Destroyed - Silver - May 18, 2016

Ah, so she was pregnant! But the father? Burke, the leader of the neighboring pack. Of coarse, silver couldn't agree with Malice's decision. What a crazy woman, was her heat that bad? Silver kept her mouth shut though, not wanting to get booted out of MH.

Those who did not support left, including Sage. That surprised Silver, she thought Sage would be all for it. However, that was just a thought, not a fact. With a small smile, she looked towards Malice. "Congradulations then Malice, I'm sure you will be a good mother."
