testing your coolness factor - RIP Kaertok - May 08, 2016 Kaertok had lain low during the insect swarm. An uneasy feeling in his gut arrived in place of them, once they had gone (or died). Sungiwok noted the absence of a color he had grown used to: green. Shortly thereafter, silence settled over the world. That only caused the uneasy feeling to grow, festering like a wound not well looked after. The crunch-crunch-crunch of Kaertok's feet on the ground was unpleasant to his ears, but there was little he could do about it. The ground was covered in the bugs that had ravaged the land, and hunger had joined the uneasy feeling in Sungiwok's belly. This was very, very bad. He knew that much. RE: testing your coolness factor - Tuwawi RIP - May 09, 2016 The forest blanketed by dead inscects was a tiresome sight. Had they killed the earth? Tuwawi wondered as their trail of descrution hit every part of the land she traveled through. Without the greenery, no prey animals lingered and soon food had become scarce. During the desperate days, Tuwawi had eaten a few of the bugs, however this day she had managed to bag a plump marmot in Cedar Sweep. She hurried down her hunting trail, fat rodent in mouth, in the direction of the Golden Glade. She had made a makeshift den within a thicket, there, and would call it a temporary home base while she struggeled through the famine. However, a smear of white flashed in her peripheral. A young wolf wandered through the wood. Her ears orbited forth. She could tell, at least at this distance, that he was young. Was his pack nearby? Her gaze shifted wearily, not wanting to run into some irate locals, as she moved towards him. Arturo's kindess sparked some kind of pay-it-forward mentality... well, at least for the younger generation that held a soft spot in her withered heart. RE: testing your coolness factor - RIP Kaertok - May 09, 2016 She said nothing, but the crunch-crunch-crunch didn't need words to announce her approach. Malrok froze where he stood, ears swiveling until he pinpointed the direction she was coming from. She held in her mouth a rodent of some sort, and Sungiwok licked his lips. Food was the only word he could think, and he swore his belly shrunk another size. But he was smart enough not to rush her for it. Or rather, he wasn't yet driven insane by his hunger to attempt a fight with an older wolf. Instead, he allowed her to approach and made no move to leave. If she wanted to keep the kill for herself, he would not attempt to take it from her. If she wanted to give it to him, well... he was going to have a hard time refusing such an offer. |
