Devastation - Lilac - May 09, 2016

Lilac sat, staring grumpily at the barren land.  It was horrid.  Why had the Locusts had to even come to the grotto in the first place.  If they hadn't have come maybe then everyone wouldn't be on egde, she assumed.  Personally didn't really know how the others were cooping with this state of devastation.  She didn't care at the moment though.  Plants where gone, whihc meant herbs were gone and that just sucked.

The agouti finally pushed herself to her paws after a while and began to pad through the grotto, eyeing all of the devastation and guess what she found?  Brown.  Brown, brown and even more brown, although there was some grey and black too though, not that it mattered.  She wondered if the grotto would stay this way forever.  She sure hoped not, because if that happened everyone here would surely starve to death.

RE: Devastation - Alder - May 14, 2016

Charley was prowling around the grotto as per usual, sniffing around for something of interest. A scent soon came upon him, not one he knew other than she was in the pack. Didn't even know her name, in fact, and was lucky if he could put a face to the scent. The ragged male headed towards the woman, however: why not take this time to form closer bonds with the pack? His carribean eyes raked the land for her, soon catching sight of the agouti back. Padding after her, tail high and ears pressed forward, the multicolored man loosed a friendly chuff.

RE: Devastation - Lilac - May 17, 2016

The sound of a friendly chuff made the agouti turn.  Her eyes narrowed for a moment, as she took in the new wolf in her presence.  She quickly studied him, picking up that the wolf was male, he looked pretty powerful, a good thick build, he had neon aqua eyes and a pelt of cream, ginger, gold, black and white.  One thing that caught her off gaurd though was that he stuck his tail up high in the air, a show of domiance.  Lilac didn't like that.  Her lip pealed back ever so slightly and her eyes studied the tail.

"Who are you?"  She asked in a more neautral tone, flagging her own tail to show her own set of domiance.  Beign alone for so long for two and a half years before entering Larksong Grotto had changed Lilac's once friendly and teasing personality to a more distrusting and awkward one.

RE: Devastation - Alder - May 18, 2016

The female seemed okay enough until realizing the way he held himself, in which she flagged her own tail up in the air. Her lip curled back the littlest bit, revealing the tips of pearly whites, and Charley reacted about the same. Wrinkling his nose, the right part of his muzzle unsheathed his own ivory fangs. Blue eyes bore into hers, screaming 'it doesn't need to be like this', but he went on with the conversation in his silky smooth, easy tone.
"Charley, Charley Pryor. Brother of Emory, if that's someone you've met."
He wasn't sure if he'd been here first or she was, but as it was rank meant jack shit to him. He'd always naturally been dominant, and surely not something he'd be changing. Compromise, though, was not past him. Charley had no wishes to physically dominate anyone in the grotto (not unless they deserved it), and his was more of a show for a challenge. Was this female really willing to push it as far as that?

RE: Devastation - Lilac - May 18, 2016

Charley, as he called himself, responded with an equal amount of domiance, by showing her his own fangs.  A red flashing warning system went of in Lilac's mind.  How dare this wolf try to dominate her!  She did not enjoy this at all.  This was just totally against her own set of personal rules.  No one should dominate her except the wolves above her and due to this wolf's snarkiness Lilalc just found herself not caring whether he was lower or higher than her in the ranking system.  When this was over, Lilac wanted to be the dominator.

"You look rather spunky today Charley, eh?"  She growled, curling her lip all the way back to reveal her sharp fangs.  She stared hard into Charley's eyes.  "Stand down now mutt.  I'm warning you."  Her eyes narrowed to slits and her muzzle crinkled.

RE: Devastation - Alder - May 19, 2016

Charley watched her quietly, brow raising at her snippiness. Instead of doing the smart thing and backing away from the offended packmate, the ragged male LAUGHED at her. And not some chuckle, no, he bellowed and howled with laughter.
"Mutt? Stand down? Sweetheart you have everything fucked up. I'm not trying to fight some entitled female. No need to act like I was trying to make you submit."
His posture stayed the same, holding himself tall, tail and ears high. No longer did his fangs show, but that was probably because a chuckle still rumbled from his chest. It wasn't, of course, that she was female. It was more along the lines of he didn't want to get kicked out for fighting a packmate. Not when he had a damn good reason to stay in Aspen. In reality, he hadn't expected her to submit. The patched wolf simply walked around like that.
His bright blue eye swept over her frame, not making direct eye contact out of boredom. This girl obviously had no interest in being friends, and the only reason his gaze wad on her at all was because he didn't need her attacking his back.
                 "I didn't catch your name?"
He made an attempt at being nice, or as close as he could get, but there was a lot of doubt resting in the front of his mind.
Not that it mattered. He could barely even keep his attention on her.

RE: Devastation - Aspen - May 21, 2016

Aspen was out on a walk before a growl could be heard from an unfamiliar wolf somewhere off to her left. Her ears twitched as she debated walking over to see what the problem was before she heard very familiar laughter. Charley. She smiled at the thought but now she had to go and see why this wolf was growling at him. Surely he can't have been doing anything wrong. She then heard him speak, something about not trying to show his dominance or getting the wolf he was with to submit and immediately she knew this was a fight over dominance.

Aspen trotted over her tail at relative level until she came into the clearing where the two were standing to find Charley and a strange female facing off. Charley didn't seem like he had been the cause  of this because his posture remained friendly but suitable considering their ranks. The female however seemed to be trying to start something.

Aspen brushed up against charley as she came over to his side her own tail high knowing she outranked this female by more than Charley did. Aspen had no intention of starting anything but she didn't like the female's attitude. "What is the problem here?" she asked calmly glancing between the two wolves.

RE: Devastation - Lilac - May 21, 2016

Lilac didn't respond to Charley, his talk and laughter, but found herself for a few seconds fantasizing sinking her fangs into the male and killing him on spot.  She didn't do that though, because that would obviously be crossing a line, a line that just wasn't supposed to be crossed.  Still, she could still always fantasize it.

Her eyes narrowed, rather suspiciously though as a female appeared and Lilac found herself wondering who it was.  Then Lilac listened as the female asked what was going on.  Before she answered that question, Lilac was able to pick up that this wolf porbably outranked her, so she slipped into a more submissive position.  Not directed at anyone, but the new female.

"Showing Charley, that just because maybe somewhere else he was proud and dominant, I am higher ranked now, so he should therefor not make himself appear more dominant when he is not."  Lilac paused for a few heartbeats, catching her breath, before contiuning in her answer.  "He then ignores my warnings to stop showing domiance.  I am only trying to warn him, before he meets someone who is more unaccepting than I am."  She explained to the new female, then added.  "I hope you understand."

RE: Devastation - Alder - May 21, 2016

Had it not been Aspen to show up, perhaps he'd have prodded at the pissy woman before him. Though he kept HER in his periphery, his carribean eyes turned to the silvery female who had rubbed up against his side. His stance didn't change, but perhaps took an even more relaxed demeanor at her touch even if he was still acting dominant to the eye. His mocking, laughing retort was both a response to Aspen and to Lilac, even if his gaze stayed smiling at her.
"I could care less that you have a 'z' before your rank compared to mine, quite honestly. Little miss priss here acted like I was doing something terribly wrong and started spitting insults. I've ALWAYS been proud and dominant darling, and that ain't ever gonna change. Get off your high horse and understand that I don't care if the need comes to defend myself."
Be her higher ranked or not, he lost any interest in befriending the female at her aggression, and was even less interested in being any sort of polite.

God he's an asshole. xD

RE: Devastation - Aspen - May 21, 2016

Aspen listened as both the stranger and Charley spoke to her explaining the situation. She could see where both sides were coming from but she didn't want to totally defend Charley in this case because the autumn fae also had a fair point. She was a higher rank than him but by hardly anything.

Aspen felt like pointing out the fact that she was a higher rank than both of them but that would just start more conflict, besides the agouti had submitted in Aspen's presence which made her happy. Oddly as it was. Charley didn't tend too but Aspen never felt threatened and to be honest didn't understand why this fae did.

"Look, both of you have a point. Yes uhm I don't know your name..." she paused to recollect her thoughts. "You have a point in that you are in fact ranked higher than Charley here, and it is fair that you want him to not show his dominance as much especially because I personally know wolves that that would piss off," she paused reflecting on her history, and then glancing between the two wolves.

"However," she started again. "Charley from the times I have seen him always approaches the way he has here, he doesn't neccessarily mean any harm by it just because his posture comes away dominant doesnt mean he is if he meant harm he would come in in a less relaxed dominant posture. This was no challenge." she finished trying to avoid rambling or causing any further problems. She felt quite accomplished currently because she was helping to resolve inter-pack problems. Or trying at least.

Ponders making this a trade thread XD Aspen may have gone a tad soft XD :P Dont know yet.

RE: Devastation - Lilac - May 22, 2016

Lilac listened to both Carley and Aspen as they spoke.  She still didn't like Charley with his snarkiness and disrespective show of dominance, but this new silver furred female had a point, from both sides.  So Lilac just decided to take it.  When she relized she hadn't told the silvery female her yet though she threw it in as soon as the female finished.

"My name is Lilac.  It was very nice to meet you, thank you so much for helping."  She said respectively.  "What is yours?"  Lilac quickly added, in a questioning tone, to add on to her answer.  She wanted to know this wolf's name so she would know the name of this wolf, so that she could formally thank them with their name.

RE: Devastation - Alder - May 23, 2016

Aspen had-literally- called off the dogs. Little did he care about the opinion of Lilac, but the silvery female beside him was a different story. Her very name scared off his demons and calmed his soul in a way no other could. And so, despite another flash of anger at the agouti, the Pryor twin stayed silent.
Charley knew very well how bad his dominant demeanor pissed people off, but so far he'd had no issues avoiding problems, or taking care of them himself. It hadn't been a show of dominance, no, but Aspen was wrong in saying that it was his posture suggesting it. He was indeed a dominant male, and it simply showed in what he did, harmful intent or not. If he had wanted to do damage, there would've been no hesitation, no attempt at being nice.

RE: Devastation - Aspen - June 01, 2016

The unknown fae introduced herself as Lilac. Hmm the name oddly suited the wolf. "Lilac," Aspen offered a semi-friendly smile. "Nice to meet you, my name is Aspen. I'm glad I could help out. Last thing I think anywolf needs at this point is fighting on top of all the other issues we have. Tensions are high and I understand that but we all need to get along. Doesn't mean you have to be friends, but functioning as a team. That is key," Aspen stated glancing between the two wolves noticing Charley had gone awful quiet beside her.

Aspen had questions running through her mind right now the usual ones like where was she from how long had she been here yet none seemed right to ask at this moment in time because despite both wolves being calm there was still some tension in the atmosphere.

Argh short post is very. Very. Very. Short. I am so sorry x.x I run out of things to say in this post and questions that don't make aspen sound like a complete dork XD

RE: Devastation - Lilac - June 04, 2016

Lilac was kinda suprised the Aspen, as she called herself, never said anything about being an Alpha or Beta here, because in Lilac's eyes she seemed worth one of those ranks.  "It's nice to meet you Aspen."  Lilac began in a solemn tone, with a small friendly smile.  Then contiuned on to speak her mind.  "It's just my opinion..." she drawled, "but I think that you deserve to be something higher here.  You seem very... good at what you do."  The agouti remarked, hoping that didn't sound all too cheesy.

Lilac then flicked her eyes to Mr. Charely Pryor and almost foun dherself giving him a smug smirk, quite content with his silence and all that.  Yet she did nothing much to him, just kept her gaze neutral on him, then flickered her gaze back to Aspen.

RE: Devastation - Alder - June 12, 2016

Charley listened quietly, not missing either Aspen or Lilac's looks. He could sense that the agouti felt the winning party, but in his eyes of course he had come out on top. He had Aspen here, plus she was taking care of a nuisance he might've otherwise had to fight. He would be leaving with Aspen, naturally, and no longer would this flower have to bug him.
A bored yawn broke his silence as he returned Lilac's look, and he shifted closer to the pale female beside him before looking off in the distance somewhere else to find some amusement.

RE: Devastation - Aspen - June 18, 2016

Aspen was surprised at the words that next came out of the she wolf's mouth. "I think you deserve to be something higher here you seem very good at what you do" Aspen smiled warmly, flattered that the wolf thought she would be worthy of a higher rank than the one where she sat. Although Aspen didn't mind where she was at, she worked just as hard as the rest of them and this was where Reek deemed her fit.

"Thank you," Aspen said with a friendly tone in her voice. "..but I'll have to tell you this is where the alpha sees me fit so this is where I'll stay for now. I honestly don't mind but I am happy to hear you think otherwise," she finished tail twitching behind her as she felt Charley shift closer. He seemed to have totally zoned out from the conversation now and Aspen was beginning to wonder if this meeting was over. The two wolves had seemed to have cooled off and Aspen had some things she wanted to do before night fall.

She pondered for a moment before turning to charley and saying softly. "Don't suppose you want to join me for one last patrol before I make my leave and head to the den," she said with a curious tilt to her head.

This might be my last post depending what yall say if the opportunity I might put one more post saying goodbye to Lilac. This has been fun and if you don't mind I may use this for a trades thread :D

RE: Devastation - Lilac - June 20, 2016

Thanks for the thread!  Last from me.  :)

Lilac listened to Aspen thank her for the complement on rank status and foudn herself feeling better about this new pack situation after that thank you... just made her feel brighter she supposed.  It was a newer wierd feeling... she just felt jumpier on the inside Lilac suppose.

"Nice meeting you Aspen."  Lilac remarked warmly to the gray female, then in a mroe neutral, but controlled tone she spoke again, but this time to Charley Pryor.  "Nice meeting you too Charley."  Then with a single, polite dip of her head the agouti turned and made her leave.

RE: Devastation - Alder - June 21, 2016

Charley was instantly alert at Aspen's interest in him, and with a smile nodded to her. Lilac was right, Aspen DID deserve a higher title. In his carribean eyes, she was a goddess, but to these wolves she was a mere subordinate.
It was unacceptable. It was then that his ambitions rose: to rise to the top of this pack or another, even if he had to claim his own land. He would be the highest in the pack, and there would be no more meetings like that of which he dealt with today. Nobody would ever doubt his rank again, and you could be damn sure Aspen would be right there with him.
"Yes, please, I could use the distraction."
He gave Lilac a cool nod, making eye contact just to, who knows, maybe to show he understood really just because Charley is an asshole, and kept his silence against her. As she turned, he too angled his face, now with a charming grin plastered across it, and led Aspen away in the exact way he'd come in: Tail, ears and head high, striding along as if he owned the world he walked upon.
