RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Amekaze - June 21, 2016

She was quick to regret her look back. Half the pack seemed to crumble in an instant, while a scattered few who arose from the ram's rampage down did so with fire. Charon's face was bloodied, Heldi had been brutally rolled, Floki went over the cliff with the ram's fall, the thrall went after him presumably. She couldn't get a good sight on it from here, but what she did see, didn't look good.

One meager plus was that the goat was probably dead somewhere. The bad remained that Floki could be too. She didn't want to believe it.

Blinking away the rain, she now knew she had to get alongside Charon as soon as she saw the Redhawk wolves fleeing and him pursuing. His aggression had the opportunity for a major tipping point. She wanted to make sure he didn't need to do anything too reckless along the way, and with Dash channeling a similar vibe of pursuit, more slid in their favor. Since she couldn't exactly hunt the other ram alone, not with it steadily moving away, her mind was made up and her resolve steeled for the possibilities in the very next beat.

With renewed determination, she picked up the chase as well across the slick rocks towards the dark and red pair. The goal was remarkably clear-cut now: overtake, and pressure them into failure, all while not slipping to one's own end. She believed their opportunity for a clean getaway was narrowing with three sets of teeth gaining ground on them from slightly different angles, and fast. Although Fox was a highly alluring target to her personally, her sights were set on Peregrine for now. She wondered if his fall had not left him entirely unscathed -- and from seeing it unfold, she suspected that it had not. In the age old tradition of the hunt, that made him a good choice.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Harley Quinzel - June 21, 2016

Things happened fast, and for the most part Harley stayed still and quiet. Charon's arrival sent him shifting away in respect, Amekaze getting much the same greeting, and eventually he settled in next to Althaia. It was then Peregrine leapt from the cliff, and the entire pack was scrambled getting out of its path. For a minute in time, Harley was frozen. Charon was hurt, Floki took the painful way after the ram, and Althaia set off towards him. Though he was worried for them, he turned his amber eyes to Amekaze. Her coalpha and Dash were already in hot pursuit, and as the milky hybrid looked to her for guidance, she bounded off towards the Redhawks. He would have much preferred to go looking for the other ram, to take it down and double the prey for Moonspear, but he followed the alphas without questions for now. His nimble body carried him with ease over the rocks, even through the sheeting rain.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Peregrine Redhawk - June 21, 2016

I have permission to PP Fox. :)

I hope y'all like this plot twist (if you don't, blame Remedy)! Obviously, it's entirely up to you whether your character was impacted in any way!

If there are any issues with assumptions made in this post, please PM me! :D

As if this entire situation wasn't already direly out of control, the downpour suddenly increased. It was like trying to run through a waterfall. It was next to impossible for Peregrine to see anything, forcing him to slow down lest he break his neck. He tried to locate Fox in the deluge but only saw an orange blur beside him. He opened his mouth to bark at her but a sudden clap of thunder drowned out his voice, shaking the ailing Alpha down to his very core. It sent a fresh wave of pain through him.

Gritting his teeth, he continued despite the onslaught. He could neither see, smell nor hear the party of wolves coming after them but he could sense them nonetheless. He felt the shadow of death looming over his shoulder. So he continued the urgent downward climb, even while continuing to wind around the mountainside. More than once, he slipped and nearly busted an ankle. He knew Fox struggled too. At one point, he thought he heard a cry, but between the rush of rain and a second and even louder peal of thunder, he couldn't be sure.

Somehow, the pair reached the base of the mountain. If they were still being chased, they might still have a chance to outrun their pursuers. Well, Fox would have a chance. Peregrine winced as his limbs locked painfully, reminding him of his tumble. He slowed. He saw his mate do the same but he snapped at her again. "Keep running, Fox! The Firebirds need you! Go!" He practically roared that last bit, just to make sure he was heard over the now continuous thunder.

She darted reluctantly ahead and Peregrine loped after her, whining with every few steps, the sodden fur on the back of his neck standing on end as he felt the hunting party getting closer. He even chanced a glance over his shoulder. The rain was still pouring down but he could see shapes on the mountainside; they had nearly reached the foot. They would gain on him in moments and tear him to shreds. With a pulse of fear, the swarthy wolf looked forward again and clenched his teeth as he tried to push past the pain and run for his life.

When the sky lit up like the flash of a camera and the air sizzled around him, Peregrine resisted the urge to slow. He felt a shock wave press at his back that made his teeth and bones ache and suddenly the wet air was filled with the smell of scorched earth. Still he refused to risk a backward glance. If he had looked, he would have seen that a bolt of lightning had struck the ground about a quarter of a mile behind him, in the general vicinity of his headhunters.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Althaia - June 21, 2016

She couldn't go further.
The stone dropped down in front of her, a sheer drop, and with her leg she could not hope to make the jump. She growled lowly in frustration, glancing up to see if she could go back up. She placed a single paw on the rock, trying to heave herself up...and slipped. Her paws flew of the rock, she barely manged to stable herself. It was too sheer, too wet, and there was no way she could make it up there, especially not now with the rain that pounded down like a waterfall. She huddled into herself on the small rock ledge, blinking furiously through the rain as she tried to catch sight of Floki.

She saw no one around her as she squeezed in on herself, desperately trying to regain lost body heat. She lifted her muzzle and howled, a desperate cry, for anyone. Floki, though she did not like him especially, was injured, if not dead, and they needed to attend to him quickly. Perhaps and able-bodied wolf could make te leap, but for now she was stuck. Then, as if to make things even more chaotic, a bolt of light fell from the raging skies. It was so close, and Althaia imagined she could feel it as it thudded down onto the earth. It's nearness and the sheer sound it made, like a rock falling from a mountain top, made her flatten her ears against her slick skull.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Heldi - June 21, 2016

Heldi tried to struggle up the mountain but her leg didn't seem to want to work. Several times the agouti fell into the mud that was quickly beginning to form due to the rain, now coming down so hard she couldn't see more than a few inches in front of her face through the deluge. Blinking the water out of her eyes the best she could, Heldi could only barely make out the backs of the two retreating though they were getting too far for the Moonspear wolves to do anything.

Somehow Heldi knew what was coming, instinct maybe. The air took on a metallic tinge, a burnt undertone. Heldi's fur stood up from her skin and her eyes widened as she looked to the heavens. Before she could scream a warning the lightning bolt hit, illuminating the rocky mountainside with the clarity of noon daylight, following a few seconds after it a huge boom resonated. Heldi cringed, thankful she was too far back for the bolt to affect her though her eyes burned slightly from the light.

The bastard squinted, unable to to make out if any of the others ahead were hurt. Hearing the sound of a wolf crying for help, Heldi turned and drug herself over to the edge of the rocks with great care not to fall over the side. Below was a wolf though she couldn't make out who it was, one trapped on a ledge. "Do you think you can reach up and grab onto me? I can haul you out." She practically had to shout the words to be heard over the sounds of the storm.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Dash - June 21, 2016

His need for the blood of their enemy almost outweighed his own sense of self-preservation. Almost. Dash wasn't completely careless on the mountain, knowing when to take his time in certain places, and knowing when he could stretch his body out and really gain some speed. With the rain, however, those moments were few and far between. He growled as the pair seemed to be gaining distance from the hunting party, which had giving up their goat in favor of the two retreating wolves.

He watched as the pair reached the base of the mountain, knowing they could gain better ground on level land, but then, so could he. Suddenly, a bright light and a loud noise had Dash scrambling. He had no idea what just happened, but suddenly all he could see was white, and his ears hummed an odd noise. He could no longer hear the rain, though he could feel it pelting him. He whined, coming to a sudden stop as his eyes darted around, trying to make sense of why he could no longer see the world around him. He turned in circles, back and forth, but his two senses were obviously down.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Floki - June 21, 2016

It seemed like he was falling forever, and yet the ground rushed up to meet him all too quickly. Floki landed on his shoulder, his left front leg pinned beneath him. Immediately, despite the pain that threatened to nearly knock him unconscious, he knew that something was broken -- he just had to hope that it wasn't as bad as it felt. His body ached all over and he could feel bruises blooming beneath his skin; he lay quietly and let the rain patter on his face for a long few minutes, the commotion from above seeming far away.

There was a howl; he identified it as belonging to Filth and he lifted his muzzle just long enough to try to reply. His throat was scratchy and tight, and the sound that resulted was barely loud enough to carry up the mountainside. Suddenly, the sky was illuminated with a brilliant flash of lightning. He could almost hear the air sizzling with electricity, and panic rose within him. His pack -- his family -- was still up there. Had the lightning struck near them?

He struggled to his feet, wincing and inhaling sharply at the attempt to put weight on his injured leg. Pulling it up against his chest, he peered blearily up at the rainwashed slope, knowing that there was no way he could climb back up. A wave of nausea hit him and he sank back down slowly. The only consolation was the dead goat's carcass lying in a mangled heap nearby.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Charon - June 22, 2016

His thirst for blood only got stronger and stronger as they closed in on their prey. It seemed through some kind of miracle that they manage to gain ground at all; Charon wasn't sure how on earth they managed, especially after seeing the black wolf get thrown down the mountainside like a ragdoll after impacting with the sheep. But his determination grew again once they reached the frays of the mountainside. He couldn't imagine they could keep up this pace much longer, and his earlier disbelief was replaced with determination. Somehow they'd gotten away 'cross the mountain, but they couldn't keep up forever. Rain dripped down the bloodied side of his face as he gritted his teeth and pressed on.

Ground was finally gained, and Charon could almost feel their flesh between his teeth. He could imagine ripping away the Dhole-like-wolf's face, and it felt more satisfying than he would ever admit. He would make them pay for losing their meal — he would make them pay for Dhole.

It was like an earthquake happened when Charon suddenly got thrown through the air, tumbling across the ground, something behind him going terribly awry. He heard nothing but a ringing sound as he was thrown through the air by the impact of the lightning strike, which happened somewhere not far behind him, smacking into the ground face-first and falling slack, unconscious by the sudden impact.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Amekaze - June 22, 2016

When her chase gained its speed properly, the rain evidently took it as a cue and picked up its downpour to fight against her. She was already soaked, already slipping here and there, but determination dug sharply into her sides; they had come this far. With an unknown amount of her pack hurt, pulling up now was not an option. There were times when she couldn't see anything at all at this speed and simply trusted her paws and the mountain underfoot, but when she did get a readable glance at the landscape spreading before her, all she focused on what a good enough path of pursuit to get something done.

But something else pulled her focus, something in the very air and the rain itself. Her fur stood on end and in the next second, before she could process it, everything felt scorching. Lightning. She pinned her ears and her sights went white.

Even from just nearby, she felt the spark's force rush her spine faster than anything she could know, lighting the way for all the other sensations to follow as they rattled her every bone and fiber from toe to ear tip. Her interest in the chase hung out of reach as she couldn't even seem to perceive these upper echelons of electric heat and noise, and instead, she felt suspended in the second itself -- frozen, burning, all with the most direct line to the heart of the storm itself that she'd never come so dangerously close to. It choked the air right out of her lungs, and now aware of a new pain in her slipping paws she lurched first upward in escape, but was not able to make the landing so fell to the rain-soaked dirt.

And when it all stopped, there was sharp silence. A ringing steadily replaced it then followed the sound of heavy rain and its cooling relief. The charge still hung heavy on the air but compared to the wattage of seconds before, it felt worlds better with half her head pressed into the cold mud.

She stumbled to her feet with momentum still dragging her forward from the chase, and realized the bitter sting running up her right leg when she put weight on it. Dimly it registered the rain cooling a spot on the side of her head more than the rest of her as well. The reality of the small patch of scorched off fur by her ear, the blood pulled up beneath her skin, and the angry blister were lost on her, though. Everything ached in a strange, electric way and her mouth tasted like metal and mud.

Adrenaline still sang in her blood and protected her for the time being despite her small grip on consciousness. She staggered drunkenly and looked around in an attempt to refocus to see the smoking strike-sight far too close to her right with an instinctive shiver. Blearily, ahead, she could see the dark shape that signaled Peregrine's (and likely Fox's too, she couldn't see) escape and noticeably lacking her pale mate or Dash ripping either of them apart. This spurred instant concern and a rich hatred soon after, and while still moving messily down the mountain, she clambered along until she got to Charon first, who lie stilled.

Please just do not be dead, seemed to be the prevailing thought as she shakily pulled at his scruff with hopes to rouse him. They had too much to do.. and she was nowhere near ready to face it if he did not wake.
I AM SORRY that this got so grossly long

also the fact that the snippet i've had in her title for about a million years ('i taste like thunder') may have just become a wee bit more fitting than it ever has been before 8)

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Peregrine Redhawk - June 22, 2016

When Peregrine reached the far corner of Lake Rodney, he finally shot a glance over his shoulder. There were no wolves behind him. The air still smelled like o-zone and the rain continued to pour relentlessly. The black wolf sagged suddenly, sinking down on the shoreline nearest to the caldera. He knew Fox must be somewhere nearby, yet he didn't even look for her. He just stared at the ground between his outstretched, trembling forelegs as waves of relief, guilt and horror took turns washing over him (then rinsing and repeating).

He had almost died today, first by his own hand and then by the teeth of his own kind. He had nearly lost his life, all because he had let one instant of poor judgment nearly destroy his future. A strange, sobbing noise burst from Peregrine's throat, its latter half overruled by a cough of thunder. Peter wouldn't have wanted him to die and leave his mate and remaining sons behind to fend for themselves. Yes, he—they—shouldn't have failed him in the first place but, as their patriarch, Peregrine was no good to anyone dead.

And he wasn't even out of the woods yet, far from it. After taking in several shaky breaths, he tried to stand. Everything hurt. He sank down again. He could still taste blood in his mouth. If his insides were bleeding, he was still in danger of dying, especially considering he hadn't been in good condition prior to today's events. In fact, with a long, low exhale, the Redhawk slumped over onto his side. He was awake but unmoving, exposed eye fluttering as the rain pelted his face.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - RIP Fox - June 22, 2016

The crack and flash of white had saved them, and although Fox did not believe in divine intervention, it certainly did feel that way. How else could she and Peregrine have gotten away, if it hadn't been for the electricity in the atmosphere? Their pack-mates were nowhere to be found, Peregrine was injured, and they were outnumbered. It was amazing that her co-Alpha had even managed to keep moving. Then again... adrenaline is a hell of a drug.

She had fallen back a few paces when they neared Lake Rodney, slowing to make sure that none of the other wolves had followed them this far. The sky was still pouring, though the worst of it seemed to be moving away from them. Blinking both eyes, even though one of them was all but useless, and convinced that the others weren't going to chase them this far, she made her way to Peregrine, who had collapsed to his side.

"Perry?" she questioned quietly, "Perry, we have to get home. We can go slower now, but they still might come after us." Redhawk Caldera was the only place she had felt safe in a very long time, and they had to get back home.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Dash - June 22, 2016

Last for Dash

Deaf and blind, Dash freaked. He had never been at such a disadvantage before, and he had no idea what to do. Instead of being calm and smart and staying in one spot, he began to move, not knowing where he was going, as he couldn't hear or see his pack mates. He whimpered, as his body went between walking and running, trying to discern where he was or who was around him. Little did he know, he was getting further and further from his pack mates.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Althaia - June 22, 2016

The thrall looked up at the woman, who offered to help. She so longed to get out of this mess, but she knew she couldn't. "It's too risky! You could fall, and Floki's down there!" she shouted over the noise of the storm. Even if he had been one of the creatures that had enslaved her, the beta none the less, she couldn't leave him down there, not when there was a chance-

A howl reached her, low and weak, but it managed to punch through the noise of the storm. Her eyes squinted, she peered through the sheets of beating rain. Her green gaze fastened on a lump, one that stirred vaguely...Floki? She looked up at the female again, her eyes pleading.

Then she jumped. The thrall skittered and stumbled down the hazardous rock, heart leaping to and from in her chest as she struggled to keep close to the rock. The last few meters she stumbled, and automatically pulled her healing leg to her body. Her body fell the last couple meters, and her side burned with the blow. Her leg throbbed as it was jostled, luckily she had not landed in it. Her side was bruised, and bled from many small scratches hidden beneath her thick fur.

Althaia hobbled toward the lump, wet, bruised and painful, and nosed it's side. She could detect the rise and fall of breaths, however weak, but did not know how long they would last. "Floki, sir?" she asked nervously, wondering if he would respond.

Perhaps another wolf in her position would be content to simply let Floki lie, at the end of the slippery rocks, and find pleasure in his obvious pain. He had been one of the one's to enslave her, had he not? Though Althaia, however hurt and angry she was, however many bad choices she had made, could not simply allow this wolf to be here alone and be quite alright with it.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Floki - June 22, 2016

He let his head sink to his paws, fighting the pain that pounded at his temples. He wanted to get up, to make sure that Amekaze and Charon and the rest of his family was okay, but when he closed his eyes the blackness was interrupted by a smattering of stars. Dizzy, he peeled his eyelids back quickly, just in time to vomit a small amount of bile onto the tiny sprigs of grass at his feet.

Inhaling deeply through his nostrils, Floki tried to steady himself. He heard a voice and shifted slowly, looking up to see the thrall peering down at him. She didn't look good -- she appeared to be keeping her weight off of her previously injured leg, and there were a series of cuts and scratches indicating that she hadn't had the smoothest journey down the mountain. But she was there, and she was alive, and she was checking on him.

"I'm okay," was his only response, even though he clearly wasn't. "Everyone else...?" he asked hoarsely, feeling panicked again.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Peregrine Redhawk - June 23, 2016

Fox came to hover over him and his eye rolled to look up at her. "Dunno if I can," he murmured. But even as he spoke, his face contorted with the effort of trying to push into an upright position again. He managed, though not without a great deal of aches and pains that tore a groan loose from him. "I really fucked up, Fox," he muttered, shooting her an apologetic look before dropping his gaze, drawing in a steadying breath and rising shakily onto his feet.

He couldn't say whether he would survive this latest round of torment, self-inflicted this time, but he would do his damnedest not to strand his family. Slowly but surely, Peregrine limped beside Fox. And only because of nature's preternatural intervention did they avoid getting torn apart and, miraculously, make their way back to the safety of Redhawk Caldera.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Charon - June 23, 2016

There was nothing for a good while. A vast, empty space filled with nothing but the ringing noise and white, lots of it. The ringing voice started to die down and the light dimmed ever so slightly. He squinted his eyes — though on the outside he only furrowed his brows — as he tried to make out his surroundings. He saw a meadow, green and full — funny, he'd nearly forgotten what that looked like — lush, full of life, full of prey.

Moon and sun both shone on opposite sides of the meadow. A paw twitched as on the outside, Amekaze ran her nose past him and on the inside, he walked slowly through the meadow, feeling oddly at peace. He wandered towards the moonlit side of the meadow, looking about, feeling in place, and in the distance he saw someone standing there.

Once he was close enough, Charon could make out that it was Dhole. He halted, but she smiled at him and beckoned him closer. And he obeyed. He approached her, and ran his nose alongside hers, breathed in her scent, which was the same as before, and moved his nose along her cheek towards her ear, which he nibbled. She leaned into him, and he felt oddly at peace.

After what felt like an infinite silence she said to him, I forgive you. Maybe this was supposed to bring him more peace. Maybe he was supposed to stay here, with her, until infinity. But whatever might've, could've or should've been, what happened was a snarl spreading across his face, ferocious and angry — how dare you.

Without another warning the peace was broken and Charon went for her neck, snapping teeth around Dhole's neck and listening to her screams. He put a paw on her back and continued to tear at her neck, blood gushing everywhere and her screams echoing throughout the now blood-soaked meadow.

Screams still rung in his blood-soaked mind when he snapped into consciousness, a ferocious snarl ripping through the air. Disappointment was present when he did not feel Dhole's fur between his teeth and her blood streaming down his chest. All he felt was the smarting of his face and his own blood dripping to the earth. When he tried to get up his head felt dizzy, knees wobbly, and he looked straight at Amekaze's face while he allowed the disappointment of his vanished revenge to sink in.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Amekaze - June 23, 2016

Without gentleness, although weakened from everything that had just transpired, she nosed into his furs and felt everything threaten to catch her.

Next to him, it would have been easy to let herself slump and just stay there, too. To close her eyes and forget about the aches taking up residence in her bones -- and the despair strewn across her wolves nearby. She could feel gravity pulling down while she tried to yank him back up, up into any awareness that he could still be afforded, and she stood far from her normal strength, shaken, shocked, and left unsatisfied by no proper bloodshed. Wake up, because he wasn't done here and neither was she. Wake up! Because nature wasn't getting rid of them that easily.

He did awaken, and with a vicious start. She pulled back her muzzle with a brisk exhale, understanding somehow yet truly relieved by his snarl. However, it was difficult to tell by her expression as the littlest motions hurt. Her eyes roved the blood dirtying his soaked fur, still flowing.. and she found it hard to focus exactly, her head felt like it was spinning far faster than the rest of her. Tiredly she reached out with a tiny lick on the cheek. Ame said nothing because she didn't really feel like she could put it into words. She yearned for more with a tiny, frustrated growl towards herself, and these circumstances that had led her here (without Peregrine or Fox's corpse at her feet).

Focusing on a stoic mask, she tried to help steady him to his feet. Afterward, they had to go.

Amekaze didn't know how the others were but wanted to get to them, then get them home to the Spear quickly. Dread welled at the thought of their respective statuses yet still remained a flicker of hope for a meal -- the first one they could share as a whole pack in so long. She only hated it had to be like this.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Harley Quinzel - June 24, 2016

Sorry for the late post guys xD Feel free to grab or leave Harley lol he'll come home eventually

Harley was hot on his alpha females tail when the lightning struck, and, like Dash, his senses were scrambled. He couldn't hear a howl next to his ear, and the pale sight he had was shaking violently. Probably because he'd misstepped, and his paw shot out from under him. The shephard tumbled forward head over tail like a potato bug, slamming into a stone down and to the left of Dash. He stopped with a thud and a yelp of pain that echoed off the stone, back against the rock, and didn't move. Cuts and bruises littered his pale pelt, dying his fur a darker red on spots.
He wasn't dead, no, but effectively knocked out. He'd wake up eventually, but right now it was time for bed.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Heldi - June 25, 2016

The female scrambled down the rock, leaving Heldi to stare after her weakly. There was no way the Vledfest could get down there with her leg, which would barely take her own weight. If she tried to slide down the rock it was likely she would need to be rescued as well, causing more trouble than help. "I'll find help!" Heldi limped away after yelling down to the girl, concentrating heavily on not falling back into the mud as she was sure she wouldn't be able to get back up.

Dash was nowhere in sight but neither were the other wolves, which was surely a good thing. Amekaze and Charon were up ahead and Heldi approached them first. "Amekaze, I hate to bother you but Floki and the other woman are down there, they'll need help when we can get to it." Heldi yelled to her, hating to bother when Amekaze was obviously trying to rouse Charon.

Moving on to the wolfdog she had yet to meet, Heldi limped to his side and slumped in the mud next to him. Nudging him with her muzzle, Heldi tried to wake him in hopes that he could help her rescue the other wolves. He didnt seem to be injured and could probably help the girl get Floki up the mountain.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Charon - June 28, 2016

All he wanted was to get home, his body aching like hell, his head most of all. But he knew he could not head home, not before he knew Flóki was safe. Once Charon was a bit more there again, awake and in this world, he got to his feet, which felt sore and stiff, as if he'd slept on this ache all day, and leaned against Amekaze as she steadied him. It was then that Heldi came running towards them to inform them of Flóki.

His heart skipped a beat at the news, but it sounded like his brother was alive, at least. The lost flesh would've been enough to kill the Caldera wolves, but if his brother had been among the casualties, he would have gone over there to rip their eyes from their sockets himself. "Show me to him," Charon demanded and he followed Heldi alongside Amekaze so that they could find Flóki — and, presumably, Filth or Harley; he and Filth had been separated during the ram roll — and finally get out of this hell hole and home.

Hopefully with something to show for their wounds.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Amekaze - June 28, 2016

Charon had the bulk of her attention as she did all she could do -- however little it felt like. So long as he was on his feet, and stayed there, she was hopeful they could get themselves back to home as soon as possible and only once there could she regroup fully. She felt bad, for a myriad of reasons, but all of this stayed bottled up within and she set her jaw tightly, grim, as she began to understand the rest of what had happened.

Heldi's approach brought her ears forward, although they promptly pinned back as soon as she felt her headache pulse angrily at the smallest of motions. But there was an urgency about what she said -- Floki; Ame nodded, for Charon had the words here already, and her gut gave a vicious twist of worry for what may await them. "I do not know where Dash... or Harley are," she muttered as they followed her lead as hastily as they could in the shape they were in. "The last time I saw Dash was just before the lightning.." she furrowed her brow and felt a shiver twinged with the phantom pain of electricity. The dark alpha knew she couldn't compartmentalize her ideas any better than that, or raise her voice to anything greater so did not know if Heldi or even Charon heard any of it. Her ears were ringing and everything hurt. But, she was alive, at least, and upright. A start, and in this moment, more than others could have..

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Floki - June 29, 2016

He heard voices from above and angled his head, trying to look up. He blinked rainwater from his eyes, wishing that his head would stop swimming and that his leg would magically heal -- he had important things to do. There were packmates he needed to check on and meat that needed to be dragged back to Moonspear.

But all he could do for now was call up to Charon and Amekaze. It sounded like they were making their way down to him. "Down here," he said, his voice not as loud as he imagined it would have been, given the effort. His lungs felt spent but he pushed himself up into a sitting position, keeping his injured foreleg pinned against his chest as his gaze scanned the ledges for his brother and sister-in-law.

RE: BWP3: PREY OPPORTUNITY - Althaia - July 01, 2016

He said that he was okay, which she strongly doubted, but did not counter his words. He asked of the state of the others, and Althaia shook her head. "I don't know; there was lightning-" she was cut off as she too looked up at the top of the incline Floki had fallen from, eyes searching for dark shapes that could be Moonspear wolves. His words, however, were weakened, so she lifted her muzzle and sent up a howl that she hoped would rent the sheets of rain like an arrow, and find the ears of whoever should be nearby.
