In the hood - Ezekiel - June 18, 2016

@Reiko, so Zeke can show her around the territory? But all welcome so anyone can jump in :)

Ezekiel had been patrolling it seemed all afternoon. He'd had lots on his mind, and he found that patrolling always helped him think. One of the things he thought about was the newest member Reiko. He'd met her in some forest to the east and they'd become friends. Now they were part of the pack together. He was technically supposed to be showing her around, so he thought he should go check up on her. He paused his what seemed like never ending patrol and delved into the forest, it's new life beginning to show itself as green shoots popped above the ground.

He walked along, hoping to find her somewhere around here in the hollow. He wondered if she'd found a den or made one yet. Perhaps he could help her do so.

RE: In the hood - Reiko - June 18, 2016

this is before pack meeting! Tried to reply to @Niita first but phone was all wonky... Will try again alter

While trying to adventure around the parklands, Reiko had gotten herself lost a couple times. From time to time the scent of the pack had gone as she traveled too far from her new home. But it was good exercise.

The mountaIns were different, rocky instead of snowy as they were back home. But she was getting accustomed to them in due time.

"Ezekiel!" She exclaimed, seeing the new friend she met which excited her. "What is the honour?" She trotted up to him, her tail in neutral position despite it displaying happily a over her waist.

RE: In the hood - Ezekiel - June 18, 2016

Okie doke!

And there she was, Ezekiel's friend appeared, with a friendly tone to her voice. He smiled, glad to see that she seemed to be having a good time. Oh nothin, I was out patrolling when I remembered I'm supposed to be teaching you stuff. So here I am now! He grinned, glad to have a friend. It was weird, while she she was a very pretty wolf and very kind, he thought of her more as the little sister he'd never had than a potential girlfriend (once again not counting the infamous Johan, wherever she may be).

Zeke sat down, hoping to have a chat with her before they got down to it. So any questions? I'd be willing to help with anything you need. He said, tail thumping lightly on the forest floor.

RE: In the hood - Reiko - June 18, 2016

friendzoned lmao a that's Reiko's job usually Lmfao!!! Happy to see the tides have turned on her for once!

oh! Don't worry so much about that, I'm certain I can find my way around eventually. The ranks are different, but in certain I can manage in due time. not to mention that as far as she was concerned, Reiko was at the complete bottom of the totem.

That wouldn't stop her from speaking up if something went a wry, but still, she knew her place if it wasn't for her morals.

Would you like company on your route? I don't mind being an extra set of eyes. she bounded on the spot, enthusiasm for helping out oozed from every pore. She wanted to be of assistance, even though her thinning frame spoke otherwise.[/b]

RE: In the hood - Ezekiel - June 18, 2016

Lmao sorry, Zeke plays hard to get xD

Reiko assured Zeke that she was capable of making it on her own. He was sure she could, but Steady had made it his job to make sure she was alright. However he wanted to check on her anyway, seeing as he was her friend and all. Plus he'd led her here, and bringing her to his pack and then forgetting her seemed a bit rude. Then she spoke again, hoping to join him on his patrols. Oh no. What was he going to say? Zeke liked Reiko, she was a lot of fun for a younger wolf, for any wolf for that matter. But Zeke's patrols, were sacred. They were his special quiet times. So how would he tell Reiko that he liked to be alone doing rounds without sounding like a jerk?

Uhhhh. Wow good going Zeke. He took another moment to think, frozen like a deer in headlights. Well, I'm done patrolling for today. Maybe we could hunt instead? Much better.

RE: In the hood - Anita - June 18, 2016

Just going to jump in here!
Anita had noticed that Ezekiel and another pack member had left for some reason eariler. Though she was not a fan of Zeke, she decided to go along with him anyway.

Anita found her way and met up with Ezekiel, his extravagence was hard to miss. "Hello," she muttered, still feeling a bit downcast from the meeting. The rosy she-wolf looked glanced at the unfamiliar pack member, who seemed quite playful, and to be frank, the absolute opposite of Zeke.

"Hello, my name is Anita," she introduced herself with a grin. "Try to put Zeke in his place!" she added jokingly, glancing at the male and hoping he wouldn't kill her.
@Ezekiel, @Reiko for some reason I got mixed up, so I shortened the post so it would make more sense!

RE: In the hood - Reiko - June 18, 2016

this is before the pack meeting so the canibal stuff haven't happend yet btw!!

And there it was, she over stepped her boundaries and she could tell wth how uncomfortable Ezekiel was with her offer. Lowering her ears appologetically.  its alright! I don't mean to pry. she shuffled on the spot uncomfortably, moving the earth beneath her toes.

im not the best at hunting, but I can try to lure put the prey for you instead. despite feeling like she imposed herself onto Ezekiel, she welcomed the idea of helping him hunt. She could do her best for him.

A new face caught her offguard as she appeared, but her tone helped ease Reiko faster than usual. Instead of hunkering down, she felt comport able standing and just watching and observing her walk in with a smile on her alabaster lips.

Hello Anita! I will certainly try. giggling she tease along with the newcomer, even if uncertain what was it all about, she'll learn soon enough she guessed.

RE: In the hood - Ezekiel - June 19, 2016

Haha you're ok Stella!

Damn it! Now Reiko felt bad, he'd made the wrong move. Why didn't he just let her come along? Sure his patrols were like his holy grail of private times, but it's not like Reiko would've been joining him every time. No you didn't pry at all. It's just. You know patrolling is kind of my thing you know. He said with a nervous chuckle, hoping he didn't blow it more. So she wasn't the best at hunting, and she didn't want to it seemed. But she'd lure out the prey. Zeke smiled at that, finding it funny. How does one lure out prey? Alright! Let's go to Felsig there's a lot more green out...

Oh god. Why! Why did the universe hate Ezekiel so? That one hello sounded like hells gates creaking open. And he turned to see it bounding towards them happily. His smiled disappeared and became a blank scowl. Anita and him, were very different. They did not like each other. Anita was passive aggressive and for some reason the first time they'd met she'd thought that she could overrule his authority. She stepped on his paw on purpose and annoyed the hell out of him. He wasn't one to tattle on others, but he was starting to be tempted. Maybe if he told Steady how Anita had ignored his rank's dominance, she'd be demoted, or kicked out! Sweet dreams are made of these.

Try and put Zeke in his place. Ugh, could it be any more rude. Reiko chuckled, clearly she didn't know the brunt of it. But she would soon catch on to the subtle hints and clues, Zeke and Anita were arch rivals. He gave Anita a sour flash of a grin, as if she seem happy. He didn't want Reiko to think he was the rude one, so he did his best not to show his hatred for the ginger spawn female. Anita. Me and Reiko were going to go hunting. So if you don't mind. He said slowly, hoping that gentle hint would get the message across.

RE: In the hood - Anita - June 19, 2016

Anita grinned, noticing Zeke's expressions of pure hatred and annoyance. "Why the scowl? How rude...not like a gentleman at all, is he?" The she-wolf looked at Zeke, enjoying every moment of his suffering. "It seems that you don't want me to go hunting with you...that's a bit rude as well. Turning down a fellow packmate that just wants to help out. Besides, the more wolves hunting, the better for the pack," Anita explained with a tone of fake innocence. "It seems the rude one here is Zeke, I didn't do anything mean just now, did I?" Anita cleared her throat. "I mean, Sir Zeke, how rude of me to be informal," she said this with a formal sounding tone, but was mocking him at the same time.

The she-wolf glanced at Reiko. Anita was secretly relieved to have another wolf here, especially one that appeared so kind. Without her, Anita would have already lept at Zeke's throat. That would be unseemly. She turned to Reiko, hoping that she and Zeke would accept her into their hunting pack.

"May I go along with you two? I would appreciate if I could help out as much as I could, as well as have some company?

RE: In the hood - Reiko - June 22, 2016

Reiko was oblivious as to what was going on between the two, as far as she knew they had a playful relationship - at least that is what the new female made it seem like. She felt uneasy about Zeke though, uncertain why he seemed so serious. They were pack mates, were they not? Why was this tension so thick? She was so excited about going hunting too, to be a part of something and maybe bring something back to the rest of the pack.

The new female turned to Reiko would acceptance into the hunting, feeling bashful and a little uncomfortable, she turned a wayward glance at Ezekiel, not certain what to answer. She was tongue tied. We could get twice the food? Her tone was obviously uncertain while she glanced at Zeke, but she did the math. It was simple enough. If she could chase out as many prey as possible from the bush, they could ambush them and make it back with twice the amount of food.

Not to mention one could guard any amount of kills if we get more than one while the other two keep up the hunt if the game are bountiful today.

RE: In the hood - Ezekiel - June 22, 2016

Reiko was already excited about going, and Ezekiel couldn't say no. Though he had desperately just wanted to go with just his friend, he supposed she was right. His enemy could come too. He smiled, flashing a briefly angry glance at Anita before returning to his excitement. Ok fine. We will catch more prey that way. With that he stood. Follow me I know a good place to hunt! He raced off through the mountain towards Felsig Forest, the most bountiful place in Silvertip Mountain. And that was saying something, the famine didn't leave them many options.

Once there, surrounded by budding trees and brown grass, he stopped to look at his comrades. So Reiko, you scare the prey out of hiding, me and Anita will ambush it. Sound good? He was ready to go hunting whether or not it was with Anita or Reiko, they could definitely use a nice piece of prey.

RE: In the hood - Anita - June 22, 2016

Anita gave Reiko a look of gratitude when the she-wolf supported her coming along. Ezekiel probably wouldn't have let her come along if someone else didn't persuade him a bit. She spotted a blur of moment out of the corner of her eye. Ezekiel had already taken off, and seemed quite excited to be out hunting. She quickly followed him, paws thumping lightly against the ground.

Running was something she did pride herself in. Although Anita wasn't very strong, she made up for it in speed. Soon enough, she skidded to a stop, bumping into Ezekiel just hard enough to annoy him. "So this is Felsig Forest," she mused aloud. It wasn't the towering, bountiful forest the she-wolf had imagined, but she couldn't ask for much due to the famine.

The scent of a rabbit wafted towards her, but Anita decided to sit still for now. She wanted to wait for Reiko before chasing it down. The other two seemed to have things planned out, and Anita didn't want to interrupt their strategy.

RE: In the hood - Reiko - June 22, 2016

Ezekiel agreed with her, which made the young dame smile. Had she done good? The man didn't seem upset and Anita was pretty happy with what had gone down between the three of them. Feeling good with her choice, Reiko was quick to follow them. Her long legs made it easy to catch up and keep up as they made it to where Ezekiel told of greater bounty.

The grasses were brown and not much to the imagination, if it wasn't for the scent of rabbit Reiko would have called him a liar for calling this bountiful. Okay, spread out, stay low and I'll chase them to you. She spoke loud enough just for them to hear, not so much so to scare the prey away. With that said, Reiko silently slithered into the grasses, her tiny toes barely making a sound as she weaved through the grasses with as much grace as a dancer.

The closer she got to a scent, she lowered herself as to take it by surprise. Her pace was slow and once the rabbit was in her sight, she gazed around to see where the other two were. She didn't take notice who it was, but someone was to the left. With a burst of speed to catch the rabbit off guard, a couple of them went running - to her surprise there was more than one!

The one she had originally saw was going toward the first body she spotted in the distance, hoping they knew the chase was on. Once that rabbit was on its way to that individual, Reiko changed her direction on a dime to try and guide the other rabbit to the next hunter waiting. They were quick, and they zigzagged - but she didn't need to catch them and use up all her energy. Just to guide them where the ambush lay.

RE: In the hood - Ezekiel - June 22, 2016

Ezekiel was glad that it was settled, the team was ready to go. He took charge pretty well, which made hi pretty proud. He almost felt proud of himself for getting Anita to do what he told. Maybe there was hope, again. Reiko sped off quickly finding a rabbit, no two, and spooking them from their hiding places. One was headed towards him, the other towards Anita. The one coming towards him took a drastic turn, and started heading the other direction. Anita's rabbit was now zooming towards him. He leaped after it, finding to catch the other would be hopeless.

He bounded in front of Anita's rabbit, scaring it directly towards her. Only an idiot could miss this kill, and despite her rude and obnoxious childishness, he didn't think her an idiot.

RE: In the hood - Anita - June 22, 2016

Anita watched as Reiko chased the rabbit towards them. She looked again, deciding that Reiko had actually found two rabbits. The more the better, she thought, trying to keep her eyes on the one rabbit she would catch. The rabbit bounding towards her took a sharp turn, and Anita's heart raced. There was no way she could catch it in time, the other one would get away for sure. She sighed in relief as Ezekiel caught it instead, and she shifted her attention to his rabbit, which was now her catch.

The rodent was hopping in her direction, almost straight into her clutches. There was no way she could miss it. For a split second, the rabbit zoomed by her, but Anita turned around just as fast, paws thudding down onto her prey. She ended its life quickly, scooping the lifeless rabbit into her jaws.

"Good jobf everyone!" She said, her kill hanging limply in her jaws. It felt so great to hunt, and the reward made her feel accomplished. She took a quick glance around to see if there was any more prey to be caught. "I bet if we really look, we'd be able to find one or two more rabbits around here," she added after carefully dropping the rabbit to her feet. The place didn't look promising, but she wanted to get as much food as possible.

RE: In the hood - Reiko - June 22, 2016

I always mess up on my hunt rolls and its code lmfao but it looks like it was success in this new hunt! I rolled randomly what might be in the holes too - sadly its a burrowing owl

Panting, Reiko walked up to the two who had caught their rabbits successfully, a smile on her face while her tongue lolled out from its pearly cavern. Anita congrats and mentioned another hunt, more rabbits would be taxing for the moment since the young white dame was tired. The lack of food made it hard to keep up with her energy levels to run again so soon.

I saw a burrow while chasing the rabbits - maybe theres a nice fat groundhog or badger? She offered the chance to try the holes instead. If we are lucky there are only two or three holes in the den, we all stand at one while one makes a lot of noise. Lure it out. whatever hole it comes out of we get it?

RE: In the hood - Ezekiel - June 22, 2016

Oh no baby burrowing owl! I'm gonna cry tbh.

Ezekiel beamed with pride when Anita lifted her head, rabbit in her mouth. Good job guys! He smiled, prancing towards Anita to look at the rabbit. It was decently big, and had enough meat on its bones to feed perhaps two of them. Or one Zeke. Reiko spoke of a burrow she'd passed, hoping there would be more prey inside. Ezekiel nodded to her, quickly replying. Sounds like a plan. I'll stay here and watch the rabbit, make sure nothing steals our kill. He sat down, carefully taking the rabbit from Anita. He placed it on the ground at his feet, keeping it close. Good luck! He smiled, he wasn't a fan of hunting so this worked out in his favor.

RE: In the hood - Anita - June 22, 2016

The sound of burrows sounded like a new challenge. Anita hadn't even considered looking in the burrows. "Alright, Reiko and I will go ahead, make sure that nothing steals the rabbits from you," she said to Ezekiel. "If you lose those rabbits, I will throw you off a cliff." Anita was joking, but she really hoped nothing would happen to their prey.

Anita turned back to Reiko as she explained the procedure of hunting burrowing animals. "Sounds fun! I hope we find a really big badger or something--that would be a whole lot of prey to bring back," The she-wolf imagined dragging a badger back to Zeke and showing off. It was a tempting thought. However, Anita pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind, waiting for Reiko to lead the way.

RE: In the hood - Reiko - June 22, 2016

i used random.org to see which hole it would come out of! It was Reiko. Feel free to roll for Anita and see if there's more than one!

Ezekiel opted to watch what they had just aught while the women went to see about the burrows. Reiko went to one of the holes and waited for Anita to get to hers.

Having done this with her mother once, Reiko angled herself so that  she wasn't easily seen from inside her hole. If the creature saw her, it would just turn and hide underground.

Once Anita was in position, Reiko began barking and howling as loud as she could to scare whatever was inside. But only for long enough to startle it. Once quiet, she hurtled down and waited...

Just as she hoped, she herd movement and almost immediately she saw movement as the thing slowly came out to investigate. Once Reiko laid her eyes, she pounced and took the small body in her jaws.

An owl. She was clearly disappointed in the animal that lived there, but in the famine even these could save a life.

RE: In the hood - Ezekiel - June 22, 2016

Short cause he just waiting.

Ezekiel sat all alone, watching his pack mates disappear through the returning vegetation. He was proud that he could lead these two here, that they'd already been successful in catching a rabbit and we're off looking for more. Seeing as this may take a while, Zeke licked his paws clean. He had to put his mouth on something or else the next thing it touched could be the rabbit and he wanted to wait for the other's to return. So he sat quietly, cleaning his stone colored pelt clean of debris and dust.

RE: In the hood - Anita - June 22, 2016

Anita watched with interested as Reiko started yelling into the ground. It looked silly, but it had obviously worked. Directly after the owl peeked its head out, Reiko had caught it. That's pretty smart. I would've sat around waiting for it to come out. Who knows how long that would've taken. Anita decided that they had enough prey. Burrowing owls didn't usually live in large numbers, so this catch was probably the most they could do.

"Good job!" Anita congratulated the white she-wolf, who held the bird limply in her jaws. "We should head back towards Zeke now, hopefully he hasn't eaten the rabbits," she joked, walking back towards the male. She arrived just in time to see him grooming himself. "Trying to look perfect for who, exactly? The rock over there?" Anita sat down, waiting for Reiko to arrive with her kill.

RE: In the hood - Reiko - June 23, 2016

A muffled laugh escaped Reiko while she held the prey she had caught at what Anita had said. Reiko knew full well that Zeke wouldn't do such a thing, despite his hunger. But still, disappointment lingered in her belly to think that she had caught something so small. It was enough to just feed one, maybe two if they didn't want their bellies completely filled - maybe the puppies could get their fill of it since they were so young and small themselves still.

Trotting just behind Anita as she spoke to Ezekiel, Reiko placed her kill down on the grass to speak a little more clearly. Perhaps its for his harem back home. She winked playfully at Zeke, remembering the first conversation she and he had with Steady on her welcoming to Silvertip. I think I'm comfortable giving this owl to the puppies, it should fill them just enough since its too small for any adult really. With that said she picked up the owl again, ready to bring it back to the dens to share.

RE: In the hood - Ezekiel - June 23, 2016

The sour sound of Anita's taunts pulled Ezekuel from his grooming. He noticed Reiko had caught a small burrowing owl, emphasis on small. It wouldn't feed them all, so it should be given to the pups. To his chagrin, Reiko joined in on the joke. Except when she said it it was less annoying and more funny. She offered him a playful wink, something he wasn't expecting. The young grey male blushed a bit, but the thick grey fur on his face his any signs of it. Reiko spoke of giving the owl to the pups, his thoughts exactly.

I agree, we can share the rabbit. He said, knowing that meant they wouldn't get as much as he'd hoped from the kill, but they'd all worked together to catch it so it only seemed fair. He lifted the rodent between his jaws and began to trot up next to Reiko, hoping to walk side by side with her. Anita could follow behind them. They would take the owl to the pups, then eat the rabbit themselves.

Fade here? By all means continue if you want to <3

RE: In the hood - Anita - June 23, 2016

Anita watched with satisfication as Reiko joined in on her teasing towards Ezekiel. What she hadn't expected from Zeke a look of embarrassment, which was something Anita didn't even know he was capable of doing. "Giving the owl to the pups sounds like the right thing to do. Full grown wolves like us wouldn't get much nourishment from it," she agreed, joining the other two.

She nodded her head in agreement when Ezekiel spoke of sharing the rabbits. The had all worked hard during the hunting session and deserved a reward for doing so. Anita watched as Ezekiel caught up to walk next to Reiko, and a small smile played on her lips. She decided to stay behind the two, following them back towards the pack.

We can fade here if you guys want ^^

RE: In the hood - Reiko - June 23, 2016

yup im down to fade!

She didn't think much about the look on Ezekiel's face after she had teased him, if anything she thought it was cute he seemed bashful and took it as a miniature victory for her. She walked toward the path that she remembered on their way here back to the dens, back to Silvertip so they can share their bounty. Despite the size of their prey, Reiko was quite pleased. Two rabbits and an owl, way better than coming back with nothing. Her tail flagged happily behind her, curling a little at the tip - in a non challenging position of course.

She smiled as Ezekiel caught up to her, and checked over her shoulder awkwardly with the owl's wings clipping her shoulder to check if Anita was still following; which she was thankfully. She wondered what Steady would think of their new member now that she had helped with a hunt, he would surely be proud, right? She yearned for his approval, like any subordinate would, the appreciation for her companionship by her packmates and to seem like she was an asset.

As they approached to the pack, she slowed her pace and allowed Ezekiel to lead or Anita if she chose to lead the party of bounty into the packlands.
