I'll learn to love it - Hvitserk - July 23, 2016 It had been late into the night when the boy was roused from his sleep, eyes adjusting to the darkness around him as tiny jaws parted for a yawn. He'd looked around, eyes lingering on each of the many bodies for hardly a second, until finally he'd found himself looking towards the mouth of the den. Outside, the world seemed to be brighter, the moon casting its gaze down upon the earth so that no one might get lost. Curious, he'd risen slowly, carefully stepping around anyone that might be in his way so that the outside could be reached. He'd taken to walking shortly ago, having begun to understand that others would not move him around forever, and since then he'd not stopped. Every time the boy was conscious, he was moving, exploring, or otherwise chasing after his sisters. That moment was no different from the previous ones as he'd bounded out of the den, entering the outside world only to stop directly afterwards.
As Hvit was left to bask in the moonlight, all thoughts of sleep had quickly been forgotten. He'd become wide awake and began moving with a purpose, searching for something—or someone—that he might be able to play with. It did not register within his mind that the hour was an ungodly one, and that most did not loiter around during such a time. To him, it was play time, and so he'd started to wander. Never, though, did he go very far from the den, always making sure that he could still see where home was whenever he turned around.
RE: I'll learn to love it - Rebekka - July 24, 2016 She had not made herself acquainted with the the Viking children yet, but it was not her intention to disregard their existence. It had been weeks since their birth. but she had not formally been introduced to the next generation. Perhaps, this was because she found children quite annoying. That was not to say Gyda's brood was the subject of her dislike, not at all, but she had not been around children enough to truly understand their importance. Sure, they were the future leaders and whatnot, but what was their purpose now. She did not see what the fuss was about over babies, it wasn't like they could understand anything at all or function without the help of an elder.
But it was her own curiosity that caused her to absentmindedly wander closer to the Viking's den that night. She had no intention of seeking out the children, but when a blur of white wiggled from the corner of her eye, she knew she could not just leave it there alone. It did not seem right. She turned, facing the direction of the child. But she did not make a move to greet, instead, scanning the scene to look for it's mother. She could not simply walk up to the child while it's most likely protective mother was watching nearby. When no scent of the Viking Queen emanated from anywhere but from their den, she shrugged, figuring at least inspecting the child for it's worth could not be that bad. Light steps carried her towards the child, her head lowered so that she might meet it's eye level. She chuffed softly, to let the child know she was there before she startled it. "Heya," She spoke up, though she approached it with more caution than needed. Perhaps now she understood, a child was precious. RE: I'll learn to love it - Gavriel - July 26, 2016 Gavriel did not spend most nights in the den as most fathers would, if not at the moment. Instead, he is often found several yards away to give the mother her privacy and only to keep guard as any other member of the pack. He just happened to be the member that fathered him and his role in their life had become more significant than he intended. One part of him will reason it is his duty to protect them, as a member of Drageda rather than their sire, but he knows it’s not the whole truth. And so this night is no different as he relaxes on the ground just a few yards away, half asleep and dozing the night away. He doesn’t notice, at first, that something is amiss but he hears gentle footfalls. They aren’t enough to rouse him just yet but the moment a voice comes on the scene, Gavriel snaps to attention and covers the distance at an impossible speed. He growls toward the female, softly, before sweeping his gaze to the boy to make sure he is fine. It is then he relaxes, only a fraction, but remains close to his son. Rebekka may be a wolf of his own, in some way, but it doesn’t allow his guard to come down all the way. RE: I'll learn to love it - Rebekka - August 08, 2016 permission given by Kuro to skip <3 Her inspection of the boy was abruptly halted as Gavriel came into view, not looking overly pleased yet protective, she did not understand. No matter her perplexion, she stepped back, enough space so that her actions did not seem forthcoming. From her new spot, her eyes drifted from Gavriel to the boy and back again. And then it clicked. She had not given much thought to who the father of Gyda's children where, yet now, it seemed quite obvious. Of course, Gavriel was the most suitable choice, there where no other's worthy of such a responsibility, she figured though she did not dwell to long on the subject. Instead, focusing to the potential overstep of boundaries she had just intruded.
"Moba, ai get don in nou," She ducked her head, her worry that she might have truly upset the male in some way overruled her thinking. A glance behind her considered simply departing the current situation, yet she could not leave knowing she had offended Gavriel. It was the least of her intentions. Perhaps she had been right to keep her distance all that time, she would not be approaching again any time soon. RE: I'll learn to love it - Hvitserk - August 10, 2016 While he'd never wander so far that his home would no longer be visible, he still wanted to at least test those limits he'd set for himself, and what better time to do it than while mother slept? And so he'd advanced, wobbling along without even an ounce of grace in his steps, and searched for a partner in play. It hadn't been long before someone had been found, either, a throaty sound having gathered his attention long before the word ever arrived. He could not understand what it was that she'd said, but he did recognize her as being like him, and so caution was thrown to the wind. She would play with him and keep him occupied until everyone else woke up, he was sure of it, and so he'd made a beeline for her.
Never had he quite reached her, however, for a blur of movement and a bad sound caused him to stumble to a stop. Hvitserk did not know what to call the noise that had been emitted from the male, but he did know that it wasn't anything good. When someone got in trouble or did something that wasn't right, that sound was heard, and so his eyes had snapped over to the female to try and figure out what she'd done wrong. The stranger hadn't hurt him, nor had she stolen his food (that'd be an interesting sight if she had, huh?), so the problem she'd clearly made wasn't so easily seen.
The pallid woman said something again, the string of unfamiliar words being even longer than the last. What did it mean? He didn't know, nor was it certain that he could honestly care. There was an itching in his throat, and then on his tongue, almost as if he'd wanted to attempt to repeat her, but all of it had been ignored. Hvit had not yet taken an interest in babbling, attention often being on moving around—just as it'd been then. For from his father's side the boy had departed, continuing on his original path towards his playmate-to-be.
RE: I'll learn to love it - Gavriel - August 13, 2016 Rebekka backs up instantly and Gavriel begins to relax. Protecting his brood comes naturally, regardless of whom might show up near the den, and he’s thankful that she understands her place. The large male nods his head and turns his attention to Hvitserk as he teeters forward from beneath his protective stance and he watches him, then Rebekka, to see what might happen. “Disha Hvitserk,” he says and shifts so that he stands nearby and lets the boy move forward under his close watch. Soon, the puppies would integrate into the pack and it will be inevitable before they begin to meet everyone. Rebekka is a wolf of Heda’s and one to trust, even if at first he’d been quick to hover. Gavriel allots them a few minutes together before Gyda calls to them and he picks up his son, returning him to the den. |
