Oblivion - Aspen - August 02, 2016 Any RFC wolves welcome but was hoping for @Nico since the two have yet to meet. I'm thinking of putting this towards mercenary trade. Shes on patrol as per usual.
Aspen trailed the border of her and Charley's new territory the place feeling more and more like home day by day. She was happy she was finally able to settle down some place with her mate and run the pack the way wolves deserved to have it run. Not the way that her family and other wolves had run it in the past. Their way was no way to live, not unless you were in a position of power. Her life had been hell until the day she had met Charley. That was when everything changed. Aspen marked the border tree by tree her patrols becoming evermore frequent since the intruder that had now crossed their borders not once but twice. The wolf's insults forever remaining in Aspen's mind. The silver fae now felt she had something to prove to the arrogant female though she wasn't sure why she felt so threatened. Aspen shook the thought from her mind as she noticed she was getting overly annoyed thinking about it and that was the last thing Aspen wanted. RE: Oblivion - Nico - August 02, 2016 Nico came back from his little trip outside, but now, he was a tad bit anxious. He knew, for a fact, that he would be staying until the Pyror's pack had been claimed and successfully founded in the Golden Glade, but he didn't know if he was going to stay for a long time beyond that. It was just another feeling in his gut, telling him that he'd made yet another mistake. He'd ignored it for sometime now, but the meeting with Aeronwyn had made him come to some sort of decision, a decision that he didn't want, but needed to do. For now, Nico would do his best as a packmate of the Court. He would concentrate on doing his best, later, he would think. Nicolas trotted towards the borders; he did patrols often, for in a way, they helped him clear his mind. He noticed a figure ahead of him though, and paused for a second. She seemed unfamiliar, and he had not met her yet. Then he shrugged, and approached, chuffing softly to announce his presence. "Mind if I join you on patrol? Sorry, I haven't met you yet. I'm Nicolas, Charley accepted me several days ago." RE: Oblivion - Aspen - August 02, 2016 As if to answer her thoughts a male wolf approached her. He was unfamiliar but he had the scent of the court on his coat and so she presumed Charley had met with this wolf already and it was okay that he was here. She offered a small nod tail held high as she marked a tree before pausing to speak with the wolf. He confirmed her thoughts when he introduced himself as Nicholas and that Charley had accepted him into the pack just a few days before. "I don't mind the company," she said calmly with a small smile. "It is nice to meet you Nicholas, my name is Aspen, mate to Charley," she stated as she began to continue her patrol. At least this wolf was giving her some sort of distraction from her thoughts. "So what brought you to the court?" she asked out of curiousity and to stir up some general conversation. She was curious as to just what this wolf brought to their pack and what made him choose the court. RE: Oblivion - Nico - August 02, 2016 The female nodded to him, her posture regal and one of a high rank, so he assumed she was the mate that Charley had talked about and bowed to her respectfully as she confirmed what he'd been thinking, introducing herself as Aspen, mate to the Pryor. "Nico," he said with a small smile, "Nicolas is way too formal." Nico knew he had, technically, introduced himself as Nicolas but the moment the word left his tongue, he'd regretted it. Man, when had he started going around introducing himself as Nicolas? He shook those thoughts away and began marking the borders as well, tilting his head thoughtfully as she asked him a question. "I was a loner in need of a home, and well, Charley was nearby and he recruited me," he replied simply. "Ensnared me with his talk about the ranks, to be honest, sounds interesting." RE: Oblivion - Aspen - August 04, 2016 Aspen was slightly surprised that the wolf corrected himself by saying to call him Nico vs Nicolas claiming it was too formal. Aspen offered the male a somewhat playful smile. "Alright, Nico it is then," she stated with a small chuckle. He went on to answer her question about what brought him to the glade. The court pack. He explained that Charley had gained his interest with his talk about rankings. "Oh really? I'm glad to hear that you like it," she stated as she continued forward through the trees. "So what rank interested you the most, what trades you hoping to pursue?" she asked wording the question slightly different the second time but knowing she would get a similar answer either way. The wolf looked like a fighter, he had a muscular physique and Aspen wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. He had long legs though too which would make him fast. Where as Aspen's small frame didn't make her much o a heavy weight and she had to rely on her speed in a fight not so much her strength. RE: Oblivion - Nico - August 05, 2016 A playful smile tugged at Aspen's lips and Nico returned one of his own, green eyes glittering with the barest hint of mischief. Rarely did any emotion cross his gaze, unless he wished for it to be shown. In this case, the boy had determined the Queen to be of no immediate threat to him and sought to, perhaps, become companions, friends. A part of him was hesitant, unsure of whether to form connections with one that he would inevitably part with. But then he offered himself a mental shrug; it didn't matter, as long as their connection was no deeper than packmates, touching the barest surface of friendship, if it even came to that. "General, Commander, whichever name your Highnesses prefer," Nico said, rubbing his claws into the ground, another way to scent mark without peeing. "I'll like to pursue the Mercenary trade," he began, his tone thoughtful. "But I'm aiming to be a Medic as well, or perhaps a Scout. I haven't made up my mind yet. I'll see what happens, go with the flow." As a soldier, go with the flow was perhaps the worse thing he could say. Everything needed a well thought, tactical plan but now, in a way, he was freed from his duties, so while he hadn't 'retired' completely, he had relaxed, somewhat. "What about you, my lady?" the edge of his lip quirked upward in his signature bad boy smile. Nico knew she was a married woman, but he wasn't trying to hit on her, he had someone else in mind. RE: Oblivion - Aspen - August 08, 2016 Aspen listened as the male spoke, confirming her suspicions of him becoming a warrior of some sort. He spoke of the general or commander titled position and Aspen nodded with a smile. "You seem like you could be well suited in that position Nico," She stated. What he said next surprised her slightly. A medic, or scout. Aspen appeared to think for a moment deciding which she thought he would be better in but she really didn't know the answer. "Yes go with the flow, you never know what could happen or where you might end up," she spoke as she dipped her nose to check out something but decided it was not an issue. Aspen paused to glance at him catching a glimpse of the smile he offered. He spoke asking her what trades she might like to pursue. "Personally, I see myself pursuing a mercenary trade myself as well as a possibly counselling as a secondary trade though I'm not sure which specialties just yet," Aspen stated with a small and very non chalent shrug towards the end. It was true, she had not entirely decided where she would specialize but perhaps that would come to her eventually. RE: Oblivion - Nico - August 10, 2016 He smiled, a bit grimly, at her compliment, but accepted it nonetheless. "I suppose," Nico murmured, his tone thoughtful. "Well, to be fair, it's what I've been trained to do for a living. It'll be weird to do anything else." he voiced the truth then, and looked away for a moment, briefly scanning his surroundings to check for any strange movements, or lurking loners. He knew how to look for one, after all, he used to be one of them, perhaps, still was. Aspen spoke then, telling him that she wished to pursue the trade of a mercenary as well, with counselor as a secondary trade. He cocked his head at that; he used to want that trade as well, but he wasn't sure. If he was being honest with himself, Nico didn't think he ever would be sure what he wanted for a secondary trade. Fighting, soldiering, was all he knew. Civilian life....Nico wasn't sure what he was doing this time, to be honest, but he felt that he should give it a chance. RE: Oblivion - Aspen - August 12, 2016 Aspen nodded when Nico explained that fighting was what he was trained to do. That was who he was. Aspen wanted to ask the male what his history was, about his birth pack but she knew that if she did the question would be reciprocted and her story was not one she took kindly to sharing. Another time. Another place perhaps. "What do you think of the court so far, now that you have spent a few nights amongst us," Aspen asked tilting her head. "Who have you met?" she added realizing the first question might've sounded weird. Okay this post was extremely awkward. We may have to fade soon. NOthing to talk about xDDDD
RE: Oblivion - Nico - August 13, 2016 Nico smiled, amusement flitting across his apple green eyes as he considered Aspen's words with a thoughtful tilt of his head. "The Court's great," he answered, honestly, pawing at the ground for a moment to allow his scent to sink in. "It's really beautiful too," he adds as an afterthought. While he did indeed have vague plans to leave the Court in the end, he nevertheless, still enjoyed life here. Charley had offered him a home, and he planned to do his best with it for as long as he was here, to do right by the King. "Charley, Ayla and Shalon," he listed off, before canting his head at her, offering yet another smile, "And now, you," he said. crap post. fade after few more replies? xD
RE: Oblivion - Aspen - August 13, 2016 Aspen nodded and her smile widened slightly as Nico complimented the court and the territory her and her mate had chosen. "I'm glad you like it here," she said glancing over at him before marking another tree. "Charley and I spent ages looking for this place," she said with a sarcastic tone to her voice as she looked around through all the trees that surrounded the base of the mountain. "I mean, we did travel far, but this was one of the first places we saw and came to explore. We fell in love with it when we saw the tunnels that weaved through the mountains. It's very safe and secure should we ever have pups in the court," she explained. "We used to live over in the Snowforest Taiga with the Larksong Grotto pack before their alpha got brainwashed, so to speak into believing in this rather, I don't really know how to describe it, religion," Aspen stated thinking back still having a strong dislike for the female that waltzed on in and turned everything on its head. Causing half the pack to choose between the religion or the life of a lone wolf. She wondered who still remained behind after Charley, herself, Skeet, and Zaavier walked out. Surely not many. "You have met most of us then, only Heartha and Pritmor you haven't. I haven't formally met Pritmor myself yet he seems to be a bit of a wanderer," Aspen stated noting that she had not seen the male around in a while. She wondered where he had gone off too. RE: Oblivion - Nico - August 14, 2016 "It is, isn't it?" Nico smiled as he looked around, admiring the view for what seemed like the hundreth time but with that came a twinge of guilt and he swallowed, remembering with a start that he had come to a decision, that he would eventually depart from the court to join Aeronwyn. He felt like he was harbouring some sort of traitor with the way he felt, though one could say that his decisions were just as traiterous as hiding a criminal. The soldier shook the thoughts away, unwilling to dwell on them in the presence of the Queen, almost as if afraid that she could read into his mind and see his plans and decisions and thoughts. No, that wouldn't be good. Nico inhaled sharply, and paused abruptly. He'd thought, for a moment, that there was an intruder but with another sniff, it was gone. He kept a steady eye out, but thought of it as merely a trick of the wind. "Brainwashed, eh?" he smiled and shook his head, "Must've been terrible," he sympathised, wondering who on earth would want to believe in religion when there was basically no proof of it whatsoever. Better if they all stayed in reality and concentrated on surviving. RE: Oblivion - Aspen - September 15, 2016 Aspen hummed in agreement as he agreed that the place was beautiful. Aspen was proud of how far she and Charley had come. It really was some accomplishment to have gone from crappy childhoods to leading their own packs with their mate. More than aspen could have said mere months ago, when she had lost hope of ever finding someone to love. Nico went on to comment about the whole brainwashed thing with their previous pack. "Oh yeah, it was crazy, those that said they wouldn't follow the Seer in her religion were told to leave, we were basically thrown out. Charley and I came here, and our friend Zaavier is planning on starting a pack of his own Skeet came with us but he's dissapeared so yeah, but this is us now," she said tall and proud. RE: Oblivion - Nico - September 19, 2016 "That's just bullshit," Nico snorted, shaking his head. Seriously, who would kick someone, much less a bunch of wolves out of their pack simply because they refused to follow their religion, especially if said member was extremely loyal. Why force someone to leave, if they would be loyal to the pack, and put the pack before themselves? It was just...crap, just utter bullshit. Honestly, he was glad Charley and Aspen left, they deserved much better than a leader like that. "Good for you," Nico commented, eyes wandering aimlessly. "You've gone a long way, haven't you?" he canted his head, a small smile lingering on his lips as he fixed his gaze on Aspen, respectful, yet curious at the same time. RE: Oblivion - Aspen - October 01, 2016 Fade with your post? This might be last from me.
Aspen's ears twitched and she nodded in agreement as Nico called out the grotto's alphas bullshit. Tis true. Part of her wondered if the pack was still around or if the Seer who's name she hadn't bothered to learn or remember was even still there and as bossy as before. If she wasn't was Reek still brainwashed. Perhaps someday she would journey there and find out. Though, she was sure her company would not be welcomed. Aspen's thoughts trailed back to the current discussion with Nico and she hummed as he mentioned that they had come along way. "Yeah, we truly have, but you know what, It's all been worth it. If nothing in my life had happened the way it had, things would not have been the same, I might never have met Charley, or any of you guys for that fact. I don't regret anything. if anything, I've learned from all the misfortunes in my life and changed things for the better," Aspen stated as she padded up through the last few trees. It seems the afternoon had gone by faster than she thought it would. Company never hurt. "It seems we are almost out of sunlight, and done this patrol, I don't know about you but I might head back to my den and rest," the queen stated with a small yawn after. RE: Oblivion - Nico - October 06, 2016 thanks for the thread :)
A vague smile tugged at the corner of his lips, and he tilted his head so his chin was lifted up and his eyes were fixed briefly on the sky, before landing gently back on his Queen's features, the brilliant green in them sparkling with an unfathomable emotion. He blinked, and the spark vanished, along with any indication of the true emotions that boiled beneath his cool exterior and impenetrable mask. "I understand," the soldier's lips hitched upward in a genuine smile and he nodded, his tail swishing behind him in a peaceful manner. In fact, he understood what she went through, because he'd gone through the same things himself. Except, in his humble opinion, he'd had it worse. Nevertheless, Nico refrained from saying anything about his past circumstances; he wasn't comfortable enough to share it yet, but perhaps, with time, if he was still here, he might. "Same," Nico nodded. "I'll see you around, yeah?" He offered her a smile and a farewell wave with his tail, before he turned away and began heading in the direction back home. |
