shiver my sails - Kraken Wolf - April 04, 2014 His Captain had charged him with both training to become a Gamekeeper—something like a Quartermaster back home, Kraken assumed—and meeting the rest of his pack mates. Fortunately, the juvenile didn't have a shy or nervous bone in his body and was also eager to please the leaders of his new crew. After they parted ways, the boy settled in to explore the plateau that was now his home. As he moved through the spring-green grasses, Kraken tried to memorize both the landscape and every scent he encountered. Until he crossed paths with a crew mate, the boy was intent on finding a body of water to fish from. He planned to fill their caches with the fat, lazy fish of spring as an immediate thanks for the shelter and protection of a crew. Before he was lured to a water source by sound or scent, however, Kraken stumbled upon a badger nest. Having never encountered such a creature before, the boy was naive to their foul moods and vicious teeth... but they smelled more like prey than rival hunter, and so the juvenile began to dig at the entrance. Perhaps this would be more appreciated by the Captain, since Kraken had already said he knew how to fish. Catching whatever creature that inhabited the nest would prove he could become a great Gamekeeper. RE: shiver my sails - Sabriyah - April 04, 2014 ooc: omg hiiiiiiiiiiiii i'm just a dreamer i dream my life away i'm just a dreamer who dreams of better days She couldn’t quite decide if she wanted to go for Gamekeeper or one of the defender jobs. It was a hard decision for her to make, that much was certain, because she could, and would, do both without question or hesitation. For now, she found herself just doing whatever, adding at least a single small animal a day to the newer cache not far from the alphas’ den. It was the least she could do for being taken in, accepted into the ranks. Sabriyah knew that she could be doing more, though. It was just a matter of figuring out what. Taking a stroll, almost lost entirely in thought, movement pulled her back to the here and now. It was the smell of the badgers that caught her attention first, followed by that of the young looking male digging at the badger hole. “I wouldn’t advise doing that,” she spoke up as she neared, stopping at a decent distance. “Unless you don’t care about getting your face trashed.” RE: shiver my sails - Kraken Wolf - April 25, 2014 Sorry for the delay, hon. Seems like things got busy for the both of us for a minute. <3
Kraken lifted his head suddenly, startled by the sound of a stranger's voice—knocking it with a dull thud against the thin ceiling of the entrance. For a brief moment, the young male was torn; continue digging, or acknowledge the muffled advice of whoever it was? Captain had made it clear that his acceptance here was conditional, that he'd have to earn his keep as a member of the crew... but after a heartbeat, the boy decided he would be no use if his face did indeed get trashed. He backpedaled out of the nest somewhat awkwardly, then turned to face the stranger. Kraken shook loose dirt from his fur as he did so. "What creature be in thar that would trash me face?" he asked curiously, storm-blue eyes sweeping over the female before him. She was older than he was, and appeared to be a landlubber—he conceded silently that her advice was probably sound. "Ye have eyes like th' sunset," Kraken commented suddenly, tone matter-of-fact. |
