These secrets I place before my eyes - Janai - August 18, 2016 The sun was kissing the oceans forehead as the inky legionary departed the bay, moving deftly up the rocky slope and away from the golden sands her paws had once danced across. She watched through open eyes as red streaks slashed claw marks upon the heavens, slate grey storm clouds beginning to obscure the view as they moved in from the west , her dark limbs conquering the rise and she arrived atop the cliffs.
"Sisko, näetkö tämän?" She murmured, her voice low as she spoke to the winds, her aurum gaze fondling the crested sea that lay before her. For the moment, she let thoughts of other beings slip from her mind as she lost herself in the wilds, bringing her rump to the stone as she closed her eyes and let her tassel swoop along the jagged edges. "Sea äiti siunaa meitä molempia," A smile tugged at the corners of her lips as her eyelids fluttered open, her pools searching the land in hope that her kin was listening.
RE: These secrets I place before my eyes - Zaavier - August 18, 2016 He traveled to the ocean once again to seek out more followers. He needed them, he really did and he was going to find them. There, upon the ridge stood a shadowy figure, with a frame of a warrior. She was black, pitch black, and purely striking. She was murmuring words he could not understand, and he could only assume it was another language. Lanky frame crept forward, and the laid-back man could finally catch a detailed glimpse of the girl. She was of moderate size, with fierce eyes, once again portraying a warrior-like look. He smiled and dipped his head. "Good day," he rumbled. RE: These secrets I place before my eyes - Janai - August 18, 2016 The cliffs surrounding her dark body were jagged, full of rifts and ledges that could trip a wolf just as easy as if they were in a forest. Yet her golden gaze was focused not on the rocks, but on the heavens above, searching, feeling, for the presence of her spirit. A soft sigh escaped the jaws of the warrior as not a breath of her sister was sensed, inaudible for most as it morphed into the gentle breeze. She had been there when sisko passed away, taken by the Hunters of the Night in a brief struggle. Youthfulness had made her inexperienced at defence and neither she nor Janai were able to prevent the inevitable. However, the legionary did not believe her soul merely disappeared into the skies, more so that she had joined her as she departed her homeland and began her journey along the shores.
A deep bass drew her out of thought and she turned, her pools focusing upon the tawny figure as it approached. The words he spoke were foreign to her ears yet she recognised the sound for not all lupines of GoldenOak sands had bore the native tongue. "Terveisiä," she voiced, the words rolling naturally off her tongue, "Hello." Her second response was perhaps a little more forced, clipping her teeth as it passed through her jaws yet the stranger had started with those sounds; so must she.
RE: These secrets I place before my eyes - Zaavier - August 19, 2016 Rocks skittered away behind him as he made his way further up the cliff. The stranger turned and uttered more words he could not dicern, then finally ended with hello. Well, that was something to start with. The words seemed to be forced from her mouth, and he could tell this was a forgein language to her, just like her tongue was to him. Murky eyes flickered to the ocean behind him, stomach twisting. He hated the ocean, and only did he travel when he had to. It took a moment longer before it dawn on him that he was staring behind the woman and not acknowledging her. Pulling away from his trance, he returned his gaze to the shadowy wolf, tail tip twitching with interest. "I'm Zaavier, you are?" he said, scanning her face for a reaction. Would she understamd him? He had no idea. RE: These secrets I place before my eyes - Janai - August 20, 2016 She observed through neutral eyes as his taupe paws brushed leanly across bare rock, much like hers did after departing the bay. Perhaps it was the fact that the inky soldier had not come across another of her kind since leaving the Sands that brought a certain sense of curiosity to the wraiths posture, or maybe it was just embedded within her nature. Nevertheless, she turned to stand, offering the newcomer a mere twitch of her banner in a vain hope that her formal air would subside a little.
Yet he did not speak more for quite some time and the legionary watched as his gaze brushed past her to rest upon the crested waves. He seemed wary, perhaps even loathing; she did not need to hear his words to confirm his behaviour and for a wolf who had lived all her life along the coast, seen and encountered many of its secrets, the strangers' fear was much alien to her. Her attention was soon averted to his muzzle as his voice rang out once more across the cliffs and it took the dark lupine a moment to decipher its purpose. "I am Janai," she replied, her ears alive as she listened to herself speak in these tones, "It is nice to meet you Zaavier. Ette pidä meressä?" With a slight wince, she caught herself speaking in her native tongue yet again, quickly correcting her mistake for the sake of courtesy. "You not like the ocean?".
RE: These secrets I place before my eyes - Zaavier - August 20, 2016 Janai. What a unique name. He licked it, and he threw her another smile. Quickly, Janai picked up on Zaavier's subtle feelings. He eyes grew wide as she questioned about his feelings for the ocean. "Uh, yeah, it's not my favorite place," he admitted. "I mean, it's beautiful, but it's also scary, and I would not want to live here," he chuckled. He he gazed the the woman for a moment. "Do you live here?" RE: These secrets I place before my eyes - Janai - August 20, 2016 Through her golden eyes, she watched in silence as the tawny figure regarded her own dark pelt, flashing his teeth in a wolfish smile presumably at her reply. Janai was very much unfamiliar to the world of compliments, instead regarding Zaavier as a mere creature of her kind, quite immune to his quirks. Naturally, the ghost of a smile tugged at the corners of her lips, more of a polite gesture than a genuine motion.
Yet it vanished almost as soon as it had come as he spoke his reply, her gaze clouding, guarded, at his response. It was of no surprise that he did not favour the rolling blue depths, yet to here those words against the Sea Mother herself; it set the soldier on edge. "That is... understandable," she replied simply in a hushed tone, her gaze averting from his skinny frame to rest upon the currents below. Yes, the ocean was full of dangers, mysteries; she had heard her fellows recite stories of their travels along the coast when the once resided in her homeland. But it was a think of beauty, of dependence; it could be tamed and studied, used to the advantage when needed. Like her mother had once said to Sisko and her; meressä itse on arvaamaton . Silti voit oppia kesyttää sitä , tukea sinua hädän ja hänestä tulee kaverisi.
Sisko.
With thoughts of her kin beginning to infiltrate back into her mind, she inky legionary found herself distracted, losing whatever interest in the mans' words she once had. She did not swivel her cranium round as the words rumbled out of her throat, dull and distant in comparison to those she had voiced only moments before. "I have lived here all life."
