little talks - October - August 21, 2016 She’d stumbled upon some strange fruit that grew from the tall, skinny trees that lined the coast. She was not a seafaring wolf; the ocean and its unique features were vastly unfamiliar to her. The fruit was round in shape and brown with a bizarre, prickly exterior. It was too large for the petite yearling to pick up, so October transported it by nudging it along with her snout. Eventually she settled in the sand with the peculiar object secured between her forelimbs. Gnawing absentmindedly on its tasteless surface, she stared out over the sloshing waves as a summer tempest rumbled in the distance. RE: little talks - Deirdre - August 22, 2016 coconut grove called to her. here was a place where many a time she had been sent to heal by dreams, but on this day she went to travel through time. not in the literal sense of the word--but as she moved toward the grove, she recalled the day she had done so when her father lived and breathed. the day she had taken peregrine home with her; when peace and caring for others were the primary principles of donnelaith. there was the shadow of something else hovering over it, now; she sought to get away from it, for the day. the prophecizing of starbuck unnerved her in that it echoed her fears, but she did not wish to dwell on darkness. when arriving to the grove she was unsurprised to see another there. it seemed that deirdre was always finding others, and there was no dissapointment to be found in this. if she could not be alone to think on times when there was only peace, then at the very least she could befriend another to distract herself from the dark hand that sought to touch her. her light was too bright for it to do so; it dispersed and raced away when she was aware of it, but when she did not look it sought an opening. the other gnawed on something quite familiar to deirdre, and as she drew near she gave the other wide berth so as to not encroach on their personal space. bonjour, she greeted, her voice easily carrying over the waves but in a manner that did not suggest she was yelling. no, she remained soft-spoken, but the breeze carried her words on unseen wings. RE: little talks - October - August 31, 2016 Her ears cupped forward, orange gaze shifting towards the stranger’s form as it emerged from the mangroves. She, too, was cloaked in pale fur, and carried the scent of pack with her. Her unfamiliar, lilting voice carried easily over the beach and October raised her muzzle from her chew toy. The meaning of the other woman’s melodic greeting was lost to her, but she smiled gently all the same. “Hello,” she rejoined, her snowy plume tapping gently against the sand. Although she typically held a friendly demeanor anyways, something about the stranger’s presence put her even more at ease. October’s glanced down at the strange object she grasped between her forelimbs before casting another look towards her company. “Do you know what this is?” RE: little talks - Deirdre - September 19, 2016 deirdre drew nearer to the other, sensing a receptiveness, but was unaggressive in her movements. as the other indicated the object between her forelimbs, deirdre smiled and nodded. i have heard the birds call it coconut, she informed readily, when split in two, there is a liquid within it that tastes strange, but does no ill unto others.her tail waved behind her, and deirdre smiled warmly. i have never seen fangs strong enough to break the thing apart, but great falls certainly have.the rocks near some of the trees could act as a thing to break the coconuts apart, but few had ever hit that mark. no, they mostly fell and remained whole. NO MORE DELAYS FROM ME I SORRY <3
RE: little talks - October - September 19, 2016 She felt entirely unthreatened by the woman’s presence. Though she knew strange wolves could always spell danger, she sensed no trouble with the one who stood near her. An expression of delight bloomed across her features as the other explained the curious object. “A coconut,” she rejoined, testing the bizarre word with her own tongue. “How strange!” She was interested to know what the liquid it held inside tasted like, but she believed her companion when she spoke of its nearly unbreakable exterior. A quick bob of her head was given as October lapsed into a brief silence. Her gaze rested upon the coconut, studying its peculiar shell before another smile split her maw. “It might make for great fun, though!” came her explanation a moment before she gave the fruit a great shove, sending it rolling past the female with October barreling after it. DAS OKAY I STILL LUV U
RE: little talks - Deirdre - September 27, 2016 deirdre watched the other as she moved the coconut, her eyes trailing it as it rolled away. but then october was in her peripherals, and beyond them! the coconut moved at no great pace in the sand; the lissome girl rose to catch up to the thing that moved, and when she did reached it, she swatted at it with a paw to push it. it rolled in another direction, and deirdre glanced back toward october with a gleam in her eye. it was rare deirdre ever played, truly, but she was young, still, and indulged in it now! RE: little talks - October - September 28, 2016 Her youthful spirit delighted in their game. She’d known little strife thus far and as a result, her sunny, optimistic disposition thrived. October woofed her amusement as the other female partook in play. Tail waving like a jovial banner, she bounded after the coconut once the pale woman sent it rolling in another direction. She snapped at it, hoping to gain purchase on the object with her teeth, but the rounded exterior proved difficult to grasp. Still, the motion sent the hairy fruit rolling off in the direction of the ocean. The waves lapped at it as it rested upon the shore, but October hesitated. Snowy audits smoothed back against her skull as she regarded the sea uncertainly. She’d never swam in the ocean before, and trepidation gripped her then. In the distance, the late-summer tempest rumbled. RE: little talks - Deirdre - October 13, 2016 deirdre continued after the thing, but paused when she noted october had stilled. her lobes fanned uncertainly backwards before she changed her course, trotting toward her newfound companion with a little wag of her tail. are you alright...?the uncertainty on the others visage caused deirdre to frown worriedly. she wished to remove such a thing from the others countenance, and bring back her happiness! RE: little talks - October - October 18, 2016 It seemed her companion could sense her unease. Snowy ears splayed sideways as she swung her head ‘round to look towards the lovely woman, embarrassment coloring her features. “I’ve never swam in the ocean before,” she admitted, smiling sheepishly. For October, the sea seemed to be a vast, unending part of the world whose relentless strength was something she felt incapable of handling. RE: little talks - Deirdre - October 18, 2016 the others admittance was something that brought deirdre to a thoughtful silence for but a moment. she could not determine what it was in the others voice as she spoke those words--was it fear? worry? wonder? the others sheepish smile was met with a warm one of her own, and deirdre felt herself endeared to october at once. would you like to?deirdre queried, peering toward the waves. today the surf looked calm, despite the tempest in the distance. it would carry neither of them away this hour, but the thunder in the distance caused deirdre to feel a sense of unease. the waters look calm, now, but they may not be this way for long, she supplied her new friend with this information, her emerald eyes glancing toward her. RE: little talks - October - October 18, 2016 The gentle, accommodating nature of the other female was met with sincere fondness that October wordlessly attempted to convey with a bright grin. Her snowy plume began to fan behind her. She nodded enthusiastically. For a moment she felt the need to question how much knowledge of the sea her companion possessed, but October quickly quelled the thought. This would be another adventure, she believed, and knew better than to possibly ruin the experience with nervous questions. She took a few quick steps toward the space where the waves lapped at the sand where she waited, amber eyes alight with excitement as they sought the lovely woman’s warm features. RE: little talks - Deirdre - October 25, 2016 the pale woman seemed as though she desired to go into the waters, and the youth of donnelaith peered toward the waves. she deduced there was enough time for them to romp within them for a while before the storm came to meet them, and so deirdre bounded toward the waves with great abandon. deirdre leapt ahead of october, leading the way into the waves, though she paused when she was beyond the first swell, where she could not be swept away by the undertow, and waited for the other. |
