he paved the skies - Scimitar - August 30, 2016 So.. set a few days after Eshe has tried to settle Lucy? AW for @Lucy @Cypress @Rannoch but primarily for @Eshe
With the dark stranger, Marbas, dealt with and no answers found, Scimitar had given space to his mate as she tended to fuss over their new dark little ward. He was uneasy with her presence – only because he did not know where she had come from, and knew her family must be desperate to find her. Once more, it seemed, a pup had fallen to his responsibility, and unlike Jorunn, where the boy had no knowledge where he had come from or where home was, Scimitar was more than intent to ensure the girl was reunited with her true family.Neverwinter Forest housed six puppies as it was – and the last thing he needed was another pack picking a fight with them with the misguided belief that they had kidnapped her. He pulled up to the den, his ears cupping forward as he made to listen to any conversations that might stem from his two boys, the girl or his mate. Uttering a soft bark to coax Eshe from the den, he pulled back, his gaze drifting worriedly from the entrance to the forest about them. They would need to discuss this. The events that had transpired had rattled the young girl to the point of drastic change. While she still held the fiery spirit that had been presented to her at birth, there was something that had been shaken from her. The monster that had pulled her from her home and dragged her into a new world had damaged her, but she was bound and determined to make the best of her situation.
The boys were kind to her and she had found herself growing quickly attached to Rannoch, who acted as a sort of guardian over her. He was helping her to regain her strength and her spirit. Cypress was sweet in his own sense, and Lucy had found herself admiring how their coat colors seemed to compliment each other quite well. As the days passed - and they were only a few - she was finding comfort in her own skin once more. With quiet steps, the girl emerged from their family den and her bright blue eyes caught sight of the looming shape of Scimitar. He was a powerful beast, she could tell, and there was a flash of fear in her eyes at the sight of him looming so close to the entrance. "H-hi," she piped softly, hoping that a light wag of her tail would bring a smile to the stern man's face. RE: he paved the skies - Scimitar - September 12, 2016 While stoical, the man’s features softened as the girl came from the den, her eyes cast upon him. The intrigue a puppy brought was a natural remedy for the stern beast, and at her nervous greeting, the wolf bowed his muzzle slightly, hoping to ease her. “Hi,” he returned, feeling all the more awkward as he was prone to be around pups that were not his own. “How are you feeling?” His tone was a gentle rumble, and his eyes drifted back to the den, waiting for the appearance of his mate as he made to coax some information from the girl. She seemed to be doing better – the damage Marbas had inflicted upon her physically was healing nicely, but he could not speak for the introverted shyness that practically emanated from her. Whether she was a shy creature before, or if the man had shaken her completely he was unsure. He could only imagine the latter. “I want to find your home, Lucy. Your family. Don’t you miss them?” RE: he paved the skies - Lucy - September 13, 2016
The man's face softened slightly and he dipped his skull downward for her, to which the young child's ears flattened to her crown and she cast her eyes to the left. The shyness had come on in an acute fashion. It had derived from her kidnapping and the lengthy trek away from the Caldera that she had called home. Nevertheless, the inky pup willed it to vanish to reveal her more fiery nature. She longed to feel adventurous once again. The looming male still brought a nervousness to her rapidly beating heart; one she could not explain. She thought perhaps she had been tainted by the monster who had pulled her from home.
Scimitar asked how she was feeling and she quickly returned her sight to him with stretching eyes. "I uh..." she trailed daftly. "Better." It was best to keep her words simple and concise for the leader of the forest. She did not know his temper or his nature well enough to venture a more candid reponse. As for her wellbeing, Lucy was healing well enough with rest and the support of the Frostfur family that had taken her in. It seemed, though, that the father figure wanted to be rid of her as swiftly as he could. A sharp pain bit at her chest and she found herself reflecting on the idea of home . She missed Eljay and her parents with a sadness that could not have been explained, but she had her fears of returning - fears she wasn't ready to share at the risk of sounding foolish. "I- I want to stay here for a while," she nearly choked on her own words. RE: he paved the skies - Scimitar - September 22, 2016 She was not one for many words – which was fine, for neither was he. His gaze studied her quietly as she spoke, and he withheld a light frown to her answer. She was healing nicely now – but was it not Marbas’ teeth that had done the girl injustice in the first place? Had it been her family? He felt his jaw tighten at the thought, only then guessing whether the wolf’s death had been warranted. “How come?” It was not a question directed as a demand – he simply hoped for insight as to why she could not possibly wish to be placed back in to the arms in which he had assumed she had been snatched in the first place. |
