There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Odette - September 02, 2016 At the border. Set date to tomorrow afternoon.
For a while Odie and @Aduin travelled, but finally Odie caught the scent of wolves. A pack. Tail wagging in excitement, the young month old sped up her pace, excited to have finally have probably found it. When they finally reached the border though fear sliced through Odie's heart. Would @Charon want to see her? Had she made a mistake in coming here? Nervously a few small trembles racked Odette's body as she stared into the mountianous pack lands laid out before her eyes. Had she even come to the right place? She sure hoped so. So with that Odie tipped back her head and nervously howled for Charon, hoping that this trip was worth it. That Charon knew about atronomy and that he would be happy to see her and Aduin here at Moonspear. RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Nevouku - September 02, 2016 Aduin felt glad when Odette stopped. He smelt it too. A pack was settled here. Now, if Odette's directions were correct, all they had to do was wait. He held back a couple paces, just in case Charon was hereso he would not disrupt their meeting in anyway. He would let Odette do the talking. Though he did see a few shakes in her. He went back to her side, just to check on her. "Hey. You okay? Is something wrong?" RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Charon - September 10, 2016 It was surprising when he heard Odette's call. He remembered her from when they'd meet in the wilds; he'd felt protective over the young girl, and he knew why considering he had four little girls of his own to fuss over now. Yet he hadn't expected her to drop by his pack, so he was surprised as he drew closer to the borders to find she visited him. He'd said he might visit, but with everything going on he hadn't managed. Come to think of it, he thought, Lazarus had been at her pack -- he just hadn't really realised it at the time since he'd been so focused on Lazarus. As he drew near, carrying himself proudly as was becoming of an Alpha such as he, there was a confident smile on his face. "Hey Odie! What brings you here?" he asked, glancing at the wolf by her side curiously -- an escort, presumably -- before turning towards Odie. RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Odette - September 11, 2016 Aduin noticed her tremble and she looked down, feeling embaressed. She gave a shaky nod of her head, although it was more to convince herself than Aduin. "I'm fine Aduin, but t-thank you for asking t-though." Then Odie was quiet as she waited for Charon to show. She wondered what it would be like seeing him again. Odette found herself suddenly once again asking herself than same question. Would he be happy to see her?
Soon enough though she caught the shinning white of the Moonspearians coat. He carried himself proudly as if he were a King who thought that he could face the world. She watched as the Ostrega began to speak, to her. Giving her a greeting and asking why she had come, whcih was easy enough to answer. Then she his bright full of life shift to Aduin curious, before shifting to her. Odie paused for a moment before speaking as she gathered her thoughts. "Hi Charon." She replied to him, her voice sweet like a touch of honey, yet still an icy piece of nervousness shone through, giving her voice the slightest of shakes. "I'm here well..." she paused for a moment glancing nervously at Aduin as if for comfort before once again facing Charon. "I'm here to ask you something. You see I've always been interested in Astronomy yet no one has ever really known much of it. Sure some know a few things but no one could ever really actually teach me. So since I forgot to ask you last time we met I want to ask you know. I know it may seem rather foolish of me to come here to ask just the simplist question that you may know nothing about. Yet being an astronomer is my dream. So since it is my dream I'm going to follow it." The young girl's eyes lit with shock and surprise that she had said so much. Yet being an Astronomer was her dream, so if Charon didn't know anything about it well then it sucked for her if he did though... she would be forever grateful. RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Nevouku - September 11, 2016 Aduin nodded, trusting her word for it and hanged back. He stood be her side, watching behind and in front. The one they sought out, Charon, soon came to them and Aduin took a step back to let them converse without himself being in the way. All he had to do was watch over Odette and that was all he would do. He'll just hang back unless he is brought into the conversation. Feel free to skip
RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Charon - September 13, 2016 The other dude went ignored, for he didn't introduce himself; Charon guessed that he was just the chaperone. Charon couldn't think of any reason that Odie would come here, except maybe just to see him again and see how he was doing. But there was a certain purpose to her, and soon she shared what that purpose was. He was surprised, then, because he didn't remember anyone ever asking him about astronomy, despite his fondness for the stars. He wondered how she'd learned of his interests. Yet there was no better time to ask than now — with four little girls of his own, he was more receptive than ever to helping out other pups. "Of course I could teach you some things about the stars. Where does your interest come from?" He was curious, mostly, but also thought it would be good for her to know where her fondness lay, or if it was just something that was there, whatever the reason, a passion of sorts, like with himself. is it daytime or night in the thread?
RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Odette - September 13, 2016 Charon said yes. He actually said yes.
Odie's mouth almost dropped open with shock when he told her the news and her tail began to wag with excitement. This was great. She hadn't come this far for nothing after all. Lovely. Then she listened on as the Ostrega asked her what had triggered her interests in atronomy. Odie didn't quite entirely remember that part... she just knew that all her life they had just seemed to stand out to her. Apeal. "Well, I suppose that I've just almost been interested in atronomy." Odette told him in a small, quiet voice. After she was done speaking, Odie found herself instantly thinking about all the things that she could ask Charon. Did he know any constellations? Did he know any names of the star? If they even had any? "Do you know of any constellations or any names of the stars... if they have any?" The pup asked, with a curious tilt of her head as she awaited Charon's answer. It is currently a daytime thread, but can be changed to night if you want. RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Charon - September 14, 2016 daytime is fine :) we could always do a follow up sometime
Charon thought it was kind of funny that they would come visit in daytime to learn about nighttime things, but he didn't question it — they probably had travelled in daytime because of safety, or something like that. Odette was still pretty young, after all. It was good that she had taken a chaperone along this time though, and wasn't alone like that time he had run into her in the wilds. He didn't remember mentioning his affections for astronomy then, but maybe he had forgotten. It wasn't like he had a good reason to love the stars — other than thinking he was chosen to be their champion or emperor of sorts — so he didn't question her lack of reason. Charon's information wasn't infinite either, as he just knew what he had learned and figured out, but he could teach her some things at least. "Well, it's kind of hard to teach you their names when they're not actually out," he said, looking at the sky. "There's the ursa minor and ursa major, which are kind of like blocks with a tail — but if you'd return another time or stay until later tonight, I could actually show them to you." He glanced at @Aduin , trying to figure out if such a thing was possible or if she, for now, was supposed to be home before dark. RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Nevouku - September 14, 2016 Aduin tried not to listen, as it was her lesson and her's alone. He picked up a few words, but most were blocked out as his thoughts drifted to other things. It wasn't until he caught Charon glancing over at him that he suspected his word in this was needed. He had picked up that last bit luckily, or Aduin would be fumbling over his words in confusion. "Your choice, Odette." He welcomed the thought of them visiting again. Maybe they could make something good out of this for both packs. But he would have to ask Sebastian about that, or most likely leave it to someone else who was more experienced in that area of expertise. RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Odette - September 14, 2016 What Charon told her really spiked her interests. She couldn't wait to see this Ursa Minor and Ursa Major. The mere thought of it just made her heart flutter with delight. So when it was up to her whether she would wait for bigger to come or come back some other time Odue knew her answer.
"Is it alright if we stay here and wait till nighttime?" Odette asked pleadingly. She didn't want to have to come all this way just to turn back and skip her main purpose for coming here. "My decision does work for the. Both of you though right?" Odie asked just to double check with Aduin and Charon. RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Charon - September 16, 2016 Aduin seemed not to mind visiting again, but Odette herself had different ideas as she suggested they could stay until it was dark tonight. Again Charon looked at Aduin, waiting for him to confirm or deny her request — if denied, she could always visit another time when it was darker out. "It's fine with me," he said, "Though if we go for that, we should probably go to Nocturne Summit right next door, and I'll be gone for a bit to tend to my mate and children. They were born recently. Nocturne Summit isn't as tall as Moonspear, but it's neutral territory so we could safely climb it." He wasn't going to let any strangers into Moonspear territory what with the pups so recently born, but Nocturne Summit provided a decent alternative. RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Nevouku - September 19, 2016 Forgot it was my turn
Aduin was ready to leave, as he believed the conversation was coming to a close. But then, Odette suggested staying overnight. To him, that seemed like stretching it a bit. Sure, she knew Charon. But he didn't. And in stranger territory, overnight, it put him off a little. He tried not to let it show, but he couldn't help the odd shake in his legs. "I guess Sebastian wouldn't mind." That was another thing. If they stayed overnight, they might come later that Seb would expect. Aduin might not be the only one worried in the end. RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Odette - September 19, 2016 Charon said he was fine with it, but she was surprised to hear that he had a family waiting for him. She briefly imagined the idea of mini Charon's running around and smiled momentarily at the thought. Then Charon said that they would go to Nocturne Summit instead of stargazing at Moonspear and Odie nodded, sounded good to her.
Aduin also spoke up to saying that Sebastian wouldn't mind. She hoped he was right, because as she really thought about it, she hoped that he would understand why she was staying longer. He understood her though, so hopefully he would. "Thank you Charon, Aduin." Odette began with a wag of her tail. "Congratulations on the pups though Charon, they must be adorable." She remarked, although a hint of sadness showed in her eyes if one really looked as she thought about her own by blood family and how terribly broken it was. RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Charon - September 21, 2016 Charon looked at Aduin as he said that Sebastian wouldn't mind and suggested: "You could inform him and return at night to bring Odie back to her home." That seemed best to him, as it wouldn't do this guy any good to stick around doing nothing for such a long time; might as well make himself useful. Charon wasn't sure if the trip to the Fen was doable in such timeframe, but he didn't think it was too far off. "Thanks," he said with a fond smile as Odie congratulated him on the pups. He hoped that his daughters would turn out as polite, forward and yet well-behaved as Odette. we could finish this soon and do a new thread with the stargazing perhaps? :D
RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Nevouku - September 29, 2016 I forgot again
The thought of leaving Odette alone, he wasn't too comfortable with. And going alone made him even more uncomfortable. Instead he felt safer staying near his travel partner. He was starting to think who was the more scared and more vulnerable one here, him or Odette. "I might stay close to Odette. Travelling back alone, well..." He assumed Charon would know what he meant. He looked over at Odette and said, "I'll go find a place to stay while you two go stargazing, okay?" RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Odette - September 30, 2016 I can set up the stargazing thread. :)
She listened to the two adults speak as Charon asked Aduin if he wanted to go inform Sebastian of the situation, then return later in the night. WHile Odie trusted Charon, she found herself a little uneasy with Aduin leaving, because while she did trust Charon, Aduin was from her pack. In a way Aduin was apart of her family. She didn't want him to leave her alone. So when Aduin said he'd stick nearby Odie tail began to wag and she gave him a nod. "Okay. That sounds great." She told the two, as her mind raced with thoughts of how fun and interesting the events of the night would hopefully bring. RE: There are divine things more beautiful than words can tell - Charon - October 03, 2016 Charon looked at Aduin with non-understanding eyes as he trailed off after mentioning travelling back alone. He didn't understand why it would be problematic, but hey, it was his Alpha. If he trusted that there wouldn't be issue with them returning later than planned, that was on him. "Alright, see you later then, Odie. I'll meet you back here in a bit, around dusk." He glanced at Aduin a last time as though to confirm he understood their agreements. He then turned away from the borders, intending to return and take her to Nocturne Summit later. |
