i feel like pablo - Freyja - September 05, 2016

The first signs of Autumn were upon the mountain, bringing weather conditions that Freyja had not yet experienced. There was a certain chill to the air that caused her to shiver whenever she left the den before the sun got too high into the sky and there was a new color pallet that was being added to the greenery of Summer. The foliage about the territory was changing as the leaves began their untimely deaths. It wouldn’t be long until they were completely changed and littered upon the ground.

The season was not the only thing that was changing. Young Freyja was changing as well. Her eyes had began transitioning to their permanent color-- brown, just like her father’s. Though she could not see the streaks of brown that muddied her milky eyes, this change was one that was very obvious to anybody who looked on.

These eyes were on the lookout as Freyja trotted away from the family den with a yawn. Though she was not sure just what she was going to do she was hoping that she would run into a familiar face. But, for now, she merely trekked on in hopes of finding something to do.

She paced along, bundles of herbs in her mouth -- unidentifiable to the point that she no longer knew what was what, a stray leaf dropping from time to time though it had mostly gone unnoticed. She wasn't the organized, composed herbalist that she had hoped to be. Rather, she was constanly moving, making a mess, and learning -- but at least she was getting better. Lucia noticed that her supply had depleted, evident by the trail of miscellaneous herbs that seemingly followed behind her. A groan was stifled, accompanied by a slight eye-roll.

Lucia bent to pick up the scraps, eyeing another, younger girl emerge from her den. She began to collect the fallen contents a bit faster in hopes she wouldn't be seen scouring the ground for her belongings. She glanced at the young girl while doing so, deciding whether or not to make eye contact. Maybe if she acknowledged the girl's presence, she could help her pick up the herbs strewn across the ground.

Thanks for joining!

She did not immediately notice the other. Boredom was slowly taking her over and preoccupied her as she treaded upon her undecided path. It was only as the other wolf ushered out a groan that Freyja snapped out of her mindless meander and paid attention to what was going on around them. Blinking rapidly as she slowly sought the territory around her, Freyja’s attention landed upon the near-by wolf.

As her attention was caught, the Goufa’s ears perked and her head tilted. This wolf was not familiar to her and this sparked her curiosity. “Hello?” She called, using the native tongue of the Wilderness to address the stranger. Though she preferred her own native tongue she knew that this language was not shared amongst many wolves.

no problem! :)

Another voice spoke out, and she put her attempts to clean up on hold as she responded. "Hello," she smiled, her tone friendly and approachable -- or at least she hoped it was. She glanced back again at her mess, though mostly cleaned up there was still a few things strewn across here and there. Lucia cleared her throat, stepping towards the young girl as if she were trying to initiate conversation. Fortunately, being a social butterfly, that wasn't too hard.

"Hey, I was wondering if you could help me pick this stuff up," she paused, trying to think of a way to make the chore seem more appealing. "And um...maybe I can teach you about this stuff?" she offered, not knowing if that sweetened the deal in the slightest.

Feel free to pick whatever herb she picked up!

Freyja’s glance went from the other wolf and to the debris that laid at her paws. As the other replied with a smile, Freyja mirrored this motion and offered a gentle wag of her tail. Taking a step towards the other as her help was requested, Frejya nodded. “Sure,” she chimed, taking another step towards the other.

As she looked to herbs, Frejya looked on. Nothing looked all that familiar to her and she knew this was her brother’s specialty. But, she assumed it wouldn’t hurt to learn some more. “This is stuff that Hvitserk likes,” she said idly as she reached towards the herb closest to her.

is it OK if we set this thread after this one? http://wolf-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=17598
Lucia nodded in gratitude as the young girl agreed to help her. She had picked the majority up so that Freyja wouldn't have to spend too much time cleaning, but a few things remained. She looked up as she mentioned Hvitserk -- feeling as if she had met the pup before. She knew there were many pups in the pack, but was skeptical as to who this Hvitserk was. "Is your brother a gray and white colored ball of fluff?" she asked, trying to think back to her encounter with the boy. If Freyja knew who she was talking about and affirmed her question, she'd most likely tell her about her time spent with the pup. To keep a long story short, it involved his odd attachment to poison ivy and the fact that he probably hated her.

Lucia pushed those thoughts aside as Freyja reached towards a flower that appeared to be chamomile. It was harmless, so she didn't race forwards to stop her and instead sat back. "The herb you are reaching for is called chamomile -- it's a type of flower used for fevers and chills. Well, it can be used for a lot of things actually; it reduces swelling, helps with indigestion and helps get rid of nervousness," she beamed, all too excited over a little flower.

Of course!

To the adult's question, Freyja bobbed her head. “Yeah,” she replied, thinking of her brother in that moment. “He’s gray and white and doesn’t talk a lot.” Despite this, she loved her brother more than words could describe. He was always there when she needed him to be, even if he didn’t contribute verbally. He was a pillar in her support system and she thought the world of him.

Once she retrieved the flower, Freyja took a step towards the other as she was taught about it’s potential. Dropping the flowers before the Kru, Freyja took a step back and looked to the other wolf with disbelief. “It can really do all of that?” she asked skeptically.

RE: i feel like pablo - Lucia - September 14, 2016

"Yeah, that description fits who I was thinking of," she grinned. "Your brother certainly is interesting to be around, I can say that I'll never forget a moment of my time spent with him." Well, most of the time she had been trying to keep him away from poison ivy, something one wouldn't expect a pup to be so interested in. However, maybe he wanted to learn about plants and being that way herself, Lucia couldn't blame him.

She matched Freyja's look of disbelief with her twinkling gaze, pushing the flowers closer to the young girl. "Well, they are pretty useful. Maybe even magical. Borderline magical," she joked. Of course, the flowers had strictly medicinal properties, but they were pretty to look at as most flowers were.

"It can do all that," she replied with a nod of her head. "Although I'd need more than a few flowers to really work," she explained, counting three flowers from her collection. "With only a few, they can only provide simple cures. For example, eating a few chamomile flowers can help ease stress," she explained further. "But the more you have, the more it helps." Lucia hoped she wasn't rambling, or at least some of her chatter made sense.

Head head fell heavily to it’s side as curiosity ran rampant. What had made her brother so interesting to this stranger? Her brows furrowed and a slight pout came upon her lips as she thought of just how interesting her brother could be. “He’s really not that interesting,” she said bluntly, her eyes meeting with Lucia’s. Sure, she loved her brother but she found nothing interesting about him-- he was just the Hvertsik that she had always known and loved.

The word magical caught the young girl’s attention and to this thought she let out as quiet, “ooooh!” Her attention quickly fell to the flowers that laid at her paws and she looked at them fondly for a moment before returning her attention to the medic. “Will they not work right now?” she asked, confused on the matter of needing more to work.

RE: i feel like pablo - Lucia - September 29, 2016

Lucia begged to differ -- Hvitserk wasn't abnormal but he wasn't boring, per se. He was actually "silent but violent" in her eyes, managing to cause a disaster without even muttering a couple words. "Well, if you see it that way, he's your brother," she smiled. "So I'll take your word on it if you want."

She glanced back at Freyja who was staring at the flowers with a newfound interest and opened her mouth to respond to the girl's question. "Well, I mean, I guess they always work," she explained. "But you don't always need them. You can only access the flower's magical abilities when you are hurt," she smiled, hoping her analogies made sense. "Next time you get a scrape or get bit by a nasty pest, chew up these flowers and spread it onto the wound," she explained. "That's called making a poultice. It sounds gross, but trust me, it works."

She smiled cheesily at the Kru words, standing a little taller and offering an affirming nod. Yes, she was correct. She would, over time, learn that her brother had a brilliant gift for both fighting and medicine and that she would come to be very close with her only brother. He would be one of her closest allies in the world and one of her dearest friends and despite her jealousy she would someday come to admire him.

Lucia went on to explain a process that she was sure that she had heard before. Her nose crinkled, yet again, at the lesson and she stuck her tongue out for good measure, just incase the aspiring medic hadn’t caught on to the fact that Freyja thought that it was gross. “Is that like a paste?” she asked, easily recalling the word that Portia had taught her.

With Lucia's answer came more questions from Freyja and the two spent some time on the matter of herbs. When Freyja had exhaused the other woth questions, she parted ways with a little more knowledge on the subject matter.
