I need that happy begginin' middle and endin' - Goliath - September 23, 2016

For @Freyja ^3^

Goliath had taken to pushing over large rocks lately. Any one looking from afar might say he's doing it for exercise, others might say he's putting them in a specific formatiom, but what was really happening was his fondness for bait. Ever since he learnt about stink bait it became his next favourite thing after eating.

Pulling off some rather long nightcrawlers from under the stone, he chewed up their hairy, squishy bodies and spat out the remains onto a leaf he had prepepared. Taking his time, he snatched off several creepy-crawlies to create a significant amount of crushed worms by his side. Grabbing the large, earthworm filled magnolia leaf by its sides, he wrapped it around in a taco-like formation, and carried it over to the next nearest rock (which was a large, smooth boulder) for further harvest.

His teeth had become stained with dirt and worm-guts, and eventually corroded by harsh collisions with the stone he was scraping bugs off. Although Goliath enjoyed the use of bait, he quickly became bored of the task, and eventually would bark at objects in the distance or chase and kill smaller critters. It was his nature, and his warlust is what defines him, always looking for someone (or thing) to hurt or maim.

He looked back at the leaf beside him and groaned, this would take a long time

She had been intrigued ever since she had went hunting with Goliath. Though she hadn’t found the time to go and visited, the large wolf was constantly on her mind. Despite this interest, there was still a sense of hesitation in regards to visiting him. Though he had been nice once the hunting had gone underway, she also could clearly recall his more aggressive nature. She tucked such fears aside when her interest in the Brandwoda when she attempted to explain to Wildfire who this man was. When she had come up short on the information, she knew that she had to go back and see him to find out his name.

She traveled with a sense of purpose, easily finding her way back to him. As she made it to the geysers, Freyja then began to sniff him out, following his trail once she had caught it. The trail lead to Goliath and some boulders and as she approached she barked out to catch his attention. Though fear had grasped her by the throat, she attempted to push it aside as she called out to him,

“Hey! What’s your name!”

Goliath nearly choked on a handful of Woodlice he had been gnawing on when he heard the sharp familiar shrill behind him. Curling his head around, he was partially relieved and partially annoyed at the same time; It was the same deer-killing fanatic of a pup that he had met several days before. With his mouth still full, he lifted an eyebrow in suspicion for her return, he had done a small favour to quiet her from telling Thurngwethil that he had been aggressive before, and now he was terrified she would blackmail him into doing more.

Spitting out the crunched up bugs, he grunted a greeting. "What stumpy do here?" he asked, as always, visitors were very rare, except for the ones coming to start a fight or penetrate the borders. Besides, it was even more strange that she came back, since he didn't even know her name.

She was greeted with a mouthful of purred bugs and at this sight Freyja felt her crawl as this sight. Attempting to unsee what had been presented, Freyja trained her attention to the large wolf. To his remark, her expression darkened and a frown fell heavily upon her lips.

“I’m not stumpy,” she replied sternly. “I’m Freyja, apprentice of Thuringwethil and Wildfire.”

Goliath made a sound akin to a giggle - although much, much deeper - and scrunched up his nose, she was serious, and that's what gave him room to hurt more.

"Apprentice of Turin-wethill and Woild-faia" he mocked in a squeaky tone, chuffing up a small 'heh' afterwards. Although he wasn't witty or smart, he enjoyed retorting to people who thought they were more intelligent than him (although they really were).

"Frey-jaw speak blah blah, what you do here?" he grunted once more in his heavy accent, this time a little less serious, but nevertheless demanding for an answer.

Sternness collided with cheeky words and as this occurred the child’s stare only hardened. She did not like being mocked as she was-- these ill manners caused her fur to stand uncomfortably on end-- and would not stand for his behavior.

“You shouldn’t talk to me that way,” she forewarned with a lash of her tail. Any fear that had lingered was far gone by now and all that was left was anger.

RE: I need that happy begginin' middle and endin' - Goliath - September 24, 2016

Ugh, the little girl had come to get on his nerves. What little pleasure he got from getting anger from her had left, since instead of being intimidating, the pup was rather annoying. "Me speak how I want" he hissed "What. you. do . here?" he grunted in a far more stern manner, Goliath realized that if she wouldn't answer to mock, she had to answer to intimidation. If all else fails, Goliath decided he could simply either toss the kid in a river or walk away, and the river was looking like his more favorable.

Her small, 'threatening' pose made him much more bad-tempered. Did this child think she was higher ranked than him? (probably) He flashed his fangs for a quick second, displaying an array of large, bone-white tusks accompanied by a small, low growl. The girl had become far too comfortable speaking her opinion, and if she continued, she would pay dearly.

She was growing more intimidated by the large wolf, despite her pride telling her to speak otherwise. She knew that she shouldn’t have been spoken to in this manner and that she would tell her parents of what Goliath was doing, but for now she stood before him with a look of worry upon her face. Her ears flattened upon her head as she  looked up to him, her confidence dwindling by the second.

“What is your name?” She asked, her heart thudding in her chest as she mustered up the courage to speak.

In a quick, stern bark he said: "Goliath."

Goliath burst out in a laughter so loud it must have echoed across the entire world several times around. Last time they met he had said his name several times, and the little pup must have either forgotten or missed it. His previously angry expression had switched to one of a much lighter mood; especially since the little one finally showed some respect.

Now, reeling back his bellow in a couple notches, he repostured himself and asked. "So why Freyja here?"

It didn't make any sense to keep her here... :P Thanks for the thread-- it was as enjoyable as always!

A sharp answer was trailed by a boisterous bought of laughter-- all of which caused some major confusion within the child. Her head tilted to the side and frown fell upon her lips. “That’s why I came,” she answered quietly, taking a step in reverse. Her full-figured packmate made her feel incredibly uneasy and if she didn’t need to, she would not stay in his company.

“I’m going to go now… bye,” and without another word, the child scrambled away with her heart thudding in her ears as she fled from the scene.
