Isn't something missing? - Nocturnal - October 08, 2016 The child awoke on a lovely autumn day. She had grown quite a bit, but so had her siblings, and that brought some trouble every now and then. Astrid was a dominant little girl and every opportunity she got to show that she took. She found herself more important- no, she WAS more important than the others. Only her parents got the respect they deserved. After all, they were the one teaching her this strange way to communicate. Daddy had been very proud of her when she had spoken, and so she often babbled some random words she had picked up, mostly Inuttut, though she had picked up some English as well.
She weaved her tiny frame through the dark den with all the grace of a highly born kid toward her mother. Just as she was about to call for her, she changed her mind. This was the perfect time for exploring! She hurried toward the opening, giving one last glance to whoever was inside before stumbling outside.
RE: Isn't something missing? - Damien - October 08, 2016 I just couldn't resist >.>
Silent steps took Damien's dark frame slowly towards the lone raven, unveiling his silhouette from the shadows he moved through as he stalked the death bird. She dug her beak inside the savaged corpse of Blackfeather Woods' last kill, ripping out small chunks of what little the wolves had left behind. She had lowered her guard, giving Damien the perfect opportunity to lunge and catch her, snapping her neck despite her fierce efforts to break free. It was rare for Damien to target such small game, but he was content with his catch. It hanged from his maw as he walked back towards his den, where he was planning on plucking, and devouring the little dark corpse. But the Dark Master's path was suddenly blocked by what seemed to be no less than Astrid, who he was meant to mate once the time was right. Truthfully, Damien had not spent much time thinking about the arrangement he and Nemesis had made, but running into the girl had unexpectedly made him feel more uncomfortable than it should. Lowering his head, Damien dropped the death bird at his paws to let out a soft bark, meant to catch Astrid's attention, but he had not taken one step further. He still didn't know how the girl would react to him without Nemesis around, and he needed to make sure she got back home safely. RE: Isn't something missing? - Nocturnal - October 09, 2016 The tiniest ring around her left pupil had turned a fresh green color, though it was hardly noticeable. What was more noticeable was the way she carried herself- proud and tall, even with her still petite frame. The world was hers now, she found, for she was the only one she could hear the thoughts of. The others were silent up there, forces driven by instinct more so than her. She could think and act for herself and doubted the wolves around her could. Especially her siblings were a special kind of dumb.
As she padded farther and farther away, she couldn't help but notice a scent she had smelled before. She blinked. From where did she recognize it? She let her tiny nose touch the wind, but just as she had found the scent again she heard something. Her head turned to the dark being and she raised an eyebrow. What did he want from her? A part of her was curious, but today was for exploring not conversing with some random wolf she had just stumbled upon.
No.She called out to him. She spoke mostly her father's language, but she knew the basics of that of her mother. "No" was something said very often around the den, and Astrid sort of understood what is stood for. Displeasure, she thought. RE: Isn't something missing? - Damien - October 17, 2016 It seemed that Nemesis' offspring was just as hard to manage as their mother. First Abraxas, who Damien had had to carry home despite his displeasure, and now Astrid herself, who didn't seem as interested in him (or his leg) as she had on their first encounter. Perhaps it was Kove's blood, who had also bred a known troublemaker and insubordinate kid by the name of Alexander. However this was a different situation. Damien was somewhat tied down with these kids, especially Astrid who'd been promised to him. He couldn't just outright piss on his betrothed like he had on Xan. "Where are you going, Astrid?" he asked kindly. lowering himself to a more approachable level and hoping that she would explain, or perhaps invite him on her quest. RE: Isn't something missing? - Nocturnal - October 17, 2016 hover for translation! :) The black wolf didn't seem as amazed with her ability to communicate as Daddy it had been, and this wrinkled her sprinkles slightly. She was fucking awesome, and here the man was, probably trying to get her on his feet again. H A H, she had grown past that fetish days ago (which seemed long for the young soul), but still she felt like the other deserved some sort of punishment for not complimenting her.
Doohn't knuw. She spoke, her voice breaking and the words only slightly understandable. Still, she was awfully proud of it and marched right up to the black man. Right under his muzzle she stopped, looking up with her bright blue eyes, trying to find his eyes as well.
Kinauven? RE: Isn't something missing? - Damien - November 18, 2016 *drops smoke bomb*
Nothing she said was even close to being nearly almost understandable, not even what she spoke in the common tongue, and Damien simply didn't want to make an effort to understand. He was expecting to have a conversation with her, get to know her... They were to marry one day after all... But perhaps he was asking too much of a month-old. So he didn't even keep trying. He simply took her by the scruff, lifted her insignificant weight off the ground and carried her back to her mom's. There, she wasn't his problem anymore, and now was tranquil to carry on with his day... Perhaps another time he would get to know his future wife, when there was something to know at all. RE: Isn't something missing? - Nocturnal - November 18, 2016 Her young eyes set ablaze by the sudden, daring touch of the stranger she squirmed and kicked in his grasp. How dare this filth! And that after she had given him the benefit of the doubt!
No!She screamed, mercilessly kicking the air as she got carried back. Why back?! She was exploring. This dude was dumber than her rear, and she made it known by screaming as loudly as she could until she was dropped. Finally on the ground, she "growled" at him before kicking some dust in his direction as she waddled off.
