Lakeside View - Xinuata - April 15, 2014
RE: Lakeside View - Bones - April 17, 2014 The sudden sound of birds honking noisily and taking flight startled Bones awake. She bolted upright, eyes flicking upward to watch the ducks fly away then plummeting like a rock to search for the origin of the disturbance. Her gaze fell upon a beige wolf approaching the lake's opposite shore, her own head tilted upward to watch the waterfowl's winged departure. Bones squinted, trying to make out details, but she couldn't see much from here. "Ahoy!" she bellowed at the top of her lungs, springing to her feet and beginning to make a lap around the lake. In a few moments, she followed the curving shore toward the unfamiliar she-wolf and paused, panting and bright-eyed. "Me name's Bones! I was just takin' a nap in the sunshine. It's a great place for it," she shared, stretching out her hind legs as she spoke. RE: Lakeside View - Xinuata - April 20, 2014
RE: Lakeside View - Bones - April 20, 2014 "No," Bones replied, "it was those loudmouthed ducks!" She winked. She knew it was the stranger's approach that had upset the feathered creatures but this was her way of removing the blame from the fair stranger. Besides, she wasn't at all upset to have been woken. "What's your name?" she wondered. "And what brings ye to the lake?" young Bones added conversationally, her tongue lolling from her grayish muzzle as she regarded the larger wolf while respectfully avoiding making direct eye contact. RE: Lakeside View - Xinuata - April 21, 2014
RE: Lakeside View - Bones - April 21, 2014 Bones watched the duck too, though the mention of the vale snared her attention, dragging it back to Xi'nuata, as she introduced herself. "The vale?" she repeated, feeling certain this was somehow important but drawing a blank as to any reason why. She shrugged, mostly inwardly, deciding it mustn't be that important if she couldn't even remember. "Me name's Bones," she repeated without pointing out that she'd already given it. She smiled good-naturedly. "No... I'm almost a year," she fibbed, albeit without any ill intention, "and, anyway, I've traveled much greater distances than this before. Me home's just over that way," she elaborated, tipping her head to their left to indicate Swiftcurrent Creek in the distance. "Where's the vale," she wondered in the next beat, unable to leave this point of curiosity alone, even if she still couldn't recall why the vale was of any significance, "and your escort?" Bones added with a playful wink. RE: Lakeside View - Ferdie Von Pelt - April 21, 2014 Ferdie Von Pelt had been looking for Bazi but he heard Bones boisterious voice instead, the voice in conjunction to hers was unfamiliar and therefore cause for investigation. The large brute trotted up and stood beside Bones, giving her a nudge upon her shoulder in a friendly greeting, he having adopted it from their Alpha. He then he lifted his head and stared directly at the vale wolf rolling his shoulders back measuring her. Though he only caught the last snippet of conversation where her words a threat to this young one?. Ferdie took it as such, why else would she want to know. She has one now.... Ferdie left a pregnant pause and his tone was level and curt; his stare not friendly but not one that said I'm going to attack you this instant, His body language screamed 'you are not my family you'd be better off leaving' He waited for the femme to leave. RE: Lakeside View - Bones - April 22, 2014 Ferdie's impeccable timing earned a surprised smile from Bones, who waved her tail in response to the friendly nudge. Although she was a happy-go-lucky type, she was also reasonably intelligent, so she took notice of her pack mate's tense demeanor. She supposed it was natural for some wolves to act stiffly around those from a different pack. At least Xi'nuata did not appear to be affected by Ferdie's abrupt arrival nor his unfriendly posture. "This is Ferdie," Bones said casually, tipping her head sideways at him. Bones then proceeded with the conversation, seeing no reason to let Ferdie's presence disrupt it. "I traveled to the wilds from a place called Tortuga, just south down the coast. It took a couple'a days." She smiled proudly. "I left me negligent mother and came here to find me father... and I did find him!" she shared excitedly. "He's from Blacktail Deer Plateau." Having answered Xi'nuata's question, young Bones took her turn. "The vale's hidden? Is it like a secret sub... subtenarrean lair? Did I say that right?" she questioned, blinking spring green eyes between the two adults, waiting for either one of them to let her know and correct her if she'd bungled it (which she was pretty certain she had). RE: Lakeside View - Ferdie Von Pelt - April 22, 2014 Ferdie's tone was guarded but still soft as he spoke to bones keeping his eyes on the Vale wolf, having never met her before he felt like she was a high ranking wolf in her own territory, though her rank meant nothing here. "it's subterranean... and no the vale is not that secret else wise they would not be plaguing our borders. He was not one to start a fight all he wanted was peace but he was let known by his alpha that the Vale was unfriendly towards this pack and he would not stand to let near them anywhere boarders of the pack lands, even this was to close for his comfort. It was now the brute had to hold himself back he had hoped the Vale wolf would just turn and leave in the face of an adult, but she hadn't another clue that she was either used to submission or stupid. They were about the same size being of the same ilk he having lost some weight do to not eating of his own accord, but the hunger made him a more vicious fighter and possibly more cranky then usual Ferdie's accent was still clearly Canadian though more and more the local accent slipped in "I think you should leave, Miss, I would rather not have yet another incident between us and the Vale" The brute still had no idea he was speaking to none other then the Vale's Alpha Edit; *Chases down the typo demon with a flame thrower AAARRRRRRRRRR

RE: Lakeside View - Bones - April 22, 2014 I can't help but read Xi'n's dialogue in a stern British accent, lol?
Both adults promptly corrected her, which Bones wouldn't have minded, only... there was a sudden and distinct tension in the air after Ferdie's remark. The youth shifted uncertainly, her smile fading somewhat as Xi'nuata told him to watch his tongue. Young Bones liked Xi'nuata and didn't understand Ferdie's passive-aggression but when the she-wolf met him pace for pace in that department, she felt her fur prickling ever so slightly at the thinly-veiled threat. Xi'nuata softened a moment later and proceeded to question her, clearly attempting to carry on their conversation. Bones wanted to do the same, though she glanced at Ferdie and sensed that there was something amiss about this entire situation. If she put two and two together, it sounded like the creek and vale wolves shared some sort of history. She suddenly wondered if Captain Fox would disapprove of this fraternization and she didn't know what to do. Trying to compromise, she answered Xi'nuata's question with a polite, "Aye, well, I've visited him once. I missed him the last time. It was mostly me own fault; I lost track of time..." Her voice trailed off and she looked at Ferdie again. Not one for subtleties, Bones decided to ask outright, "Should I not be talking to her because she's from the vale? I don't mean to be rude," she said to both of them, "I just don't... know what's going on," she admitted honestly. RE: Lakeside View - Ferdie Von Pelt - April 23, 2014 Ferdie Von Pelt shook his head gently, and frowned softly, his posture softening slightly as he spoke to Bones. "She should not be this close to our borders, Fox, would not be happy about it, no. He turned his gaze back to the femme before him, were this meeting on more neutral grounds without the tension of the packs, she would find this brute to be a pleasant soul, as it were he moved his body just slightly squaring off to her, leaving no part of his flank exposed, he looked her in the eye as he continued to speak, "She is brazen standing here conversing with you, when she was politely asked to leave. Were it in on her own pack land I doubt they would take this abuse so kindly." Ferdie shifted his weight to has back paws ready if she were to attack; since she threatened it verbally before; he would be ready for it. If she didn't leave soon he might just drive her off physically, her last chance to leave peacefully was now.. Ferdie knew just how good a fighter Bones was, she needed no escort, but if a fight were to go down, he hoped she'd help him out. Two against ones were not good odds in favor of the femme, large or not RE: Lakeside View - Xinuata - April 23, 2014
RE: Lakeside View - Bones - April 23, 2014 The two adults engaged in a brief, back-and-forth quarrel, remaining calm but clearly displeased with one another. Bones listened carefully, trying to get a feel for the situation between the two packs, and found herself finding more fault with Ferdie than with Xi'nuata. She felt a bit guilty about that, seeing as he was her pack mate, but Bones couldn't much help it, could she? "I don't understand, Ferdie. These aren't our lands. They're close to our lands but they're not actually our lands. So why can't she be here?" the youth questioned openly and honestly. The whole thing reminded her of Ira's warning about Jinx's mountain. Since when did borders suddenly stretch so far? "And why would Cap'n Fox not like it?" To Xi'nuata, the youth said, "No, it's all right, we'll go. It's time to head back home anyway. Sorry," she added with a light shrug and a fleeting frown. She wasn't sure what else to say. She'd enjoyed Xi'nuata's company but she supposed it would be best to cut the meeting short if there was an existing issue between the packs. She didn't want to go against Fox or anyone else in Swiftcurrent Creek. That included Ferdie too. "C'mon, let's go home, Ferdie," Bones said lightly, beginning to trot away from Duck Lake. RE: Lakeside View - Ferdie Von Pelt - April 23, 2014 Her last sentence caught him off-guard, an invitation to the vale? he dropped his stance then and peered at her questioningly, Did they not hold the same amount of hostility towards swiftcurrent creek? who started this feud anyway? This was not Ferdie's place to ask, just live by the rule he told himself. He frowned again but this time at himself instead of the other wolf, He had hoped to watch the other wolf turn and leave, but Bones left first and he felt he should follow the juvenile he was her self-appointed escort was he not. Bone perhaps a visit to the Vale would be fun, if they don't knock Ferdie around for his impudence today
