Tell you I set you apart - Keoni - October 30, 2016

She had a habit of being loud when she wasn't supposed to, of rough and tumble play and eventually of getting into all kinds of michevious situations (and likely dragging her sibling along. She had learned her first words, and quickly her vocabulary grew,  while she was delighted in the new manner by which to express herself. Today,  her thoughts turned to Valette; the woman's skill in bring down prey had the girl hooked, and she set off from the den site in a moment of her mother's absence , thinking that surely she would find her friend soon. beside, she was bored, for her mother had been gone for ages.

They always seemed to find someone when they left the little glade that was there's,  and thus Keoni was sure she'd find Valette. Eventually. she felt a little bad about leaving her siblings behind, but she assured herself that they old be fine. meanwhile, she had an @Valette to find.

Valette was in the Stone Circle. She was often found there because it was her sleeping place. She used one of the stones to laid curled against. It was also a perfect look out onto the prey animals that would gather on the plains below. There were serval types of deer and their newly found match the bison. They had not managed to kill one yet, but Valette was determined.

She was unaware that a little girl was looking for her. Valette kept her keen eyes on the herd and tried to really spot if there were new births or perhaps a few ill deer. She didn't expect many births since mating season was on, but exhaust stags were easy to get too.

Her wandering took her to the stone circle only by chance, the srones, as always bringing awe to her and for a moment forgetting her slight worry. she slowed and approached slowly,  gaze flicking from stone to stone with wide eyes. but then her pale haze caught the figure of Valette,  and with a bound she approached the woman she had taken a shine too at a run.

she skidded to a stop a short distance away, approaching much more slowly as she noted the way the woman watched the herd. she approached without fear, looking to the woman when she neared and uttering on of the first words she had learned. "Ette hunt?" she asked,  gaze curious and gleaming.

Valette turned her head to see Keoni one of the pups that was here for protection. Valette had taken a liking to her because the other had some interest in hunting. Valette could help with that of course. She smiled at the grey pup. "Hi there," she greeted. The dark female was oblivious to the fact that today might be the day that the pups mother would be killed. Valette had never been a border/guardian wolf. She liked to hunt and scout.

"No hunting. Looking," she explained and lifted her paw at the deer below in the meadow. "To hunt you need to see which one is injured or ill. It is very important. So I am studying-- looking at the deer to see if any one of them is hurt." And of course to look for births and other things happening within the herd, but that might be too complicated.

she wasn't hunting, which made the girl's brow furrow in disappointment, but instead, looking. Listening carefully, the girl picked out a few words that made sense to her, thenfollowed suit, staring at the herd with narrowed eyes. he untrained eyes saw nothing, but-

"Ook! Ette Ook!" she exclaimed, gaze focused on a deer that looked a little smaller then the rest, near the edge of the herd. it carefully bent it's limbs and lay down, and though there was nothing wrong with it, the fact that it was in a different position then the rest of the herd had the girl's attention. "Hunt 'ow?" she asked, looking to Valette. she wanted to see her hunt!

Valette had to smile at the cute little one. Maybe one day she would want to have a few of her own. Though with whom she would be having them was still a question. The dark colored girl watched how a fawn went to lie down, she figured that this was what the other meant. "Very good Keoni!," she praised. The dark girl wagged her tail and licked over the top of her head.

"No, we can't hunt these alone. We need a group of wolves," she explained to the little pup. After all there were also some bison roaming between those deer herds and they were even more dangerous than the normal deer. "We will watch, it is very important."

At the praise her tail wagged a mile a minute, and she burned to run off and hunt the deer with Valette. But the woman said that they were in need of a group of wolves to hunt, and the girl furrowed her brow. So...the bigger the animal, the more wolves were needed to hunt it. That she understood.

an idea came to her then, and excitedly she danced a short distance away and looked to Valette. "Gets 'Kai! Then hunt!" She told Valette in a rush. Surely with Nilai to help them, they could get the deer.

Valette chuckled at the pup's excitement and then shook her head in a firm no. "You can Nikai are too young to hunt the deer," she explained to the pup, not that she might get that. "When you are bigger," she promised to the young female. She knew that Keoni would be a big help later, but now she was just far to small, she couldn't keep up with them.

Valette hunched down. "Do you see the very big dark brown animal?," she asked her. "Do you know what those are?," she asked when she pointed at them. She meant the Bison. Those were different than deer.

RE: Tell you I set you apart - Keoni - November 18, 2016

At Valette's words she dropped, for she really wanted to hunt! Her brow creased in disappointment, and she was about to launch a retort and ask just how big was big enough when Valette pointed out something else. She stared at the big brown thing, obviously not a deer but something bulkier. She made a small noise of the negative variety and shook her head no, looking to Valette for an explanation.

RE: Tell you I set you apart - RIP Valette - November 18, 2016

She knew that it would disappoint the pup but Valette wasn't going to promise her a hunt soon if that soon would only be in a few months. At least she got the other's attention. "That is a bison. They are really hard to catch," she spoke. Valette didn't even manage to catch it. She really wanted to, but she was not developed enough. "Maybe one day you can help me,' she smiled. "Lets find Nikai," she decided and got to her feet.

Fade after your post?

One day, she'd get a Bison. She promised that to herself silently, and when Valette thought they ought to find Nikai, she agreed with a grin and a bob of her head, excited to fulfill the vow she had made. She slipped beside Valette, moving to her side as they went to search for her brother.
