Bandages - Shrike Redleaf - November 09, 2016

@Goliath

No sign or trace of either Lucy or Rannoch had been found- nor had they been able to find any sign of Scimitar, which was quite worrying, especially to Shrike who had just lost an alpha. This was another alpha who had, in one way or another, vanished. Peregrine had perished, of course, which was a major difference; he tried to reassure Allure that Scimitar wasn't missing, but that he'd simply gone looking for Rannoch and Lucy. He sympathized with Allure who felt the pain of losing both a younger sibling and her father. He was glad to be there for her, during this tough time, and appreciative that she had let him stay with her until her father returned and could grant him a permanent home.

Needless to say, Shrike felt it was better to support his beloved Allure by patrolling the borders, rather than leaving the pack and going searching while their alpha was absent. A pack without an alpha was leaderless- though Allure was the highest ranking wolf and therefore in charge in Scimitar's absence, their true leader was gone. He would not let this pack fall apart- not after he'd just lost a pack for doing something he- and many others- deemed both rational and noble. His confidence was rebuilding itself with the support of others who felt he'd done the right thing, and he set about patrolling the borders that sunny, albeit slightly chilyl afternoon with renewed purpose.

RE: Bandages - Goliath - November 11, 2016

Goliath hadn't been meeting his quota of physical confrontations, and had been cast into a world of boredom. Whether he himself gained a reputation of being aggressive, or the borders that he patrolled where too high of a risk:reward ratio- not enough visitors came by the borders for him to maintain an exciting pace.

So he reported to Gavriel, and immediately after, he set off into the distance, looking for a opponent worthy and courageous enough to take him on. He had scrambles with small coyotes and foxes, but they all ended with Goliath's massive jaw crunching their petite necks in what was a tasteless execution.

It was a long travel, but he soon arrived by the strange scent that covered the forest. Not wanting to cause a conflict with a pack, he simply stopped several feet away from the borders.

He had been told to stay clear from the packs that surround Sleeping Dragon, but none had told him about the one area that now faced him.

Raising his giant, ugly muzzle into the sky and called for a competitor. A call for anyone to take on the giant that called itself Goliath

RE: Bandages - Shrike Redleaf - November 12, 2016

Shrike was not far from the stranger when he called out in a fierce voice. In fact, Shrike had only just caught the male's scent when the howl went up, strong and valiant, so with his tail curling over his spine and fur raising and stiffening like porcupine quills along his withers, he picked up a stiff-legged trot that took his briskly toward the competitor. The call was a challenge, and though he was not officially a part of the pack, he was a protector, especially now while Scimitar was gone. He pricked his ears forward as soon as the behemoth of a stranger came within his sight, but Shrike was not discouraged whatsoever. Perhaps he could be reasoned with- and if it came to a fight, Shrike was nimble on his feet, and an experienced guardian. He might just have a leg up on the stranger in the end anyway.

He stood before the male, piercing gaze seeking the taller male's eyes to issue a warning that he was not welcome, and his call had been heard as a challenge. Shrike would not immediately charge the male, as conflict was not always the answer, and he would avoid it if he could. This male smelled of a pack, and he did not wish to cause any strife between the two packs regardless. The fact that the male was not a loner confused Shrike- why would a wolf from another pack jeopardize the peace by coming to the borders of another pack and issuing a challenge?

"Explain yourself," Shrike said tersely, examining the massive stranger with contrite disbelief. He, of course, knew nothing of Neverwinter's bonds with other packs- save for Blackfeather Woods, of course. But he would not jeopardize the peace they possibly had with another pack, if it could be avoided.

RE: Bandages - Goliath - November 12, 2016

Goliath stayed in his place - frozen like a gigantesque gargoyle - until a gray, colorless male showed up. The strange, much smaller wolf had his eyes locked upon him, but Goliath simply returned a clear, emotionless gaze. The wolf, while not nearly matching Goliath’s weight or height, walked straight up to him, and began to demand answers.

He shifted his gaze from the thousand-yard stare to look down upon his ‘to-be opponent’, and gave a harsh nod of acceptance. If he was to fight fairly, the opponent should know why before they call in backup. “Goliath come to fight!” he boomed. A spooked flock of crows exits nearby, in response to the giant’s terrible voice ringing out upon the forest.

“Goliath find opponent, Goliath crush - become Champion!” he roared once more, his huge, brown eyes burning with excitement. He was so close to becoming the Heda’s personal guard - the Cheka - all he needed to do was prove his strength.

Not wanting to waste any more time, he took a few steps back. Each time his massive paw touched the floor it felt as though surges of energy rushed into his tremendous, muscular legs.
“You. Hit first, hit hard” he advised, bracing himself for impact. This could very quickly become a one-sided affair, and thus he would just need to pounce at the right moment to change this battle into a curbstomp.

RE: Bandages - Shrike Redleaf - November 12, 2016

OMG. I just DIED reading the way Goliath speaks. LOVELOVELOVE

So the hulking male had come to fight. The way he spoke immediately puzzled Shrike, who might have snorted with laughter had he not had better restraint. He'd have to tell Sassafras of this later, the next time he saw her- this would have made her roll with laughter. This was the kind of wolf he could parody, or imitate just for the sake of making another wolf laugh. Was he serious? Was this seriously how he spoke? Obviously his body and muscles took up the majority of the oxygen he inhaled- because very little of it seemed to go to his brain. Maybe it was because the air was thinner up where his head was. Shrike nearly made himself laugh at that thought. He'd have to remember that one for later.

Still, the thought of being crushed by some dumb wolf didn't appeal to him. Shrike wouldn't fight simply to satisfy this wolf. "You're from another pack. We've no issue with your pack. Leave. Don't jeopardize the peace." He said. The male had prepared himself to be attacked, but Shrike would not give in to temptation. It was a warning; Shrike did not intend to attack first, nor did he intend to start conflict between their packs. But should a wolf from another pack make the first move, at least the blame would not be on him. He would do everything he could to try and deflate the bulky male in front of him and send him on his way. "Crush loners," He then suggested, with an idle shrug of one shoulder.

RE: Bandages - Goliath - November 12, 2016

Haha yeah, he has quite the speech problems :s It's hard to makw him serious though

Also WARNING bad language below

Goliath watches intently for movement, but is dissapointed by his adversary's lack of bloodlust; Instead the male gave a speech about peace and packs. He had walked all this way to listen to some skinny fuck talk to him about peace?

Like hell he would,

Goliath gave a snarl of discontent as the male shrugged "If you no fight, Goliath will come back to kill your men and take your women." he snarled, the blood rising into his head, fueling his increasing anger.

"So hit Goliath!" he taunted, beggining to tremble "or is you too weak?"

RE: Bandages - Shrike Redleaf - November 12, 2016

I've been talking to my cat like Goliath all afternoon now :3

He wasn't content to simply leave, and it appeared as though Goliath, or so he called himself, wouldn't simply leave. And if Shrike refused to fight him, he'd do much worse, or so he said. Shrike wasn't terribly rattled, or enraged. Come back, kill the men and take the women? It sounded so primitive- though given the ay the male spoke, it was likely what he would try to do. Shrike sniffed the air between them, memorizing the scent of the male. He'd track him later, to see where his scent led, and break news to whatever pack he was in that he was making open, ridiculous threats to other packs. He now had a name to put to the face- though a male like this wouldn't really go unnoticed in a pack, and would be easily described. Big, hulking fella, looks muscular but maybe it's just chub, and talks like a simpleton. He'd take pleasure in exposing this oaf to his packmates.

Shrike then thought of Allure. What if Goliath did come back? If he didn't protect his beloved beauty now, she might be in danger later. The stranger was beginning to shake with pent up rage, but Shrike would delay him a bit longer. He crouched, as though to pounce, and snapped the air with glistening teeth, issuing a warning growl. "Leave our borders now." He threatened. He had to at least give him one warning before he took action- it was the civil thing to do, even for an uncivilized wolf.

RE: Bandages - Goliath - November 15, 2016

Sorry for the lateness ;-;

Also omg, poor kitten ;3
Just by writing like Goliath, I lose IQ points by the tens-

EDIT: Testing out colors :o

Goliath did not shake, nor did he stir. His massive body stopped trembling the moment the gray male spoke. He lowered his head, pushing his forehead against the floor, and breathed in. His body had reached a point that it would snap, and he was trying to prevent it as much as possible. A burning sensation edged from his heart, and each breath he took caused his lungs to ache. Slowly, Goliath began to lift his giant, menacing skull off of the floor and stared his opponent down. His eyes burned with such meaningless, but powerful hatred. His ugly nose- Like a bull- exhaled sharply with disgust, and his jaws, trembling to break open, finally do;

Pushing himself to his full height, he opened his muzzle, displaying a vast quantity of gigantesque fangs- and rather fittingly- Goliath roared a roar so loud it sounded like the snap and roll of thunder- like the boom of a earthquake- and the burst of a volcano all together. Spit began to fly from his cheeks. Never was he so ready to attack.

RE: Bandages - Shrike Redleaf - November 15, 2016

Shrike didn't flinch when the male opened his mouth, and only squinted his eyes slightly when the male roared at him to avoid getting spittle in them. He was unphased by the threat, and honestly, it didn't spur him into action. He was defending the borders, and wasn't the kind of male who would leap into a fight simply because someone tried to pick one with him. He wanted to say something along the lines of 'use your words, dear,' but avoided saying that. That would only make the brutish male angrier, and Shrike did not want to lose his own life because he'd picked a fight out of stupidity. He wouldn't be petty. He wanted to deflate this male as much as he could.

"Who do you want to be champion for, Goliath?" He asked. "Someone in your pack?" He asked then, not because he wanted to use the information against Goliath- it would be easy enough to track him back to his pack anyway. His voice was calm, and hinted at genuine sincerity. He knew the feeling- of wanting to impress someone, and that was why he'd taken to patrolling the borders so frequently.
