Catch me if you can - Onai - November 12, 2016

Onai trailed through the valley that lay between two mountain ranges though a good distance apart. He had no real destination in mind as he still had no clue where his sister was. Though, since having arrived here in the Teekon wilds his priorities had changed slightly. He had come here with the intention to fuck up his sisters life even more but since being here he had met a wolf that he had a crush on was in denial about having a crush on and he had promised Warbone that as soon as he found out where his sister was he would return and join up with his pack.

Honestly, he had now stopped caring about what kind of life his sister was living so what if she was happy. He just wanted to know just what came of her. He couldn't even be sure she was still alive. He came to the edge of a forest immediately bombarded by the scent of other wolves. However, today he was not in one of his "nice guy" moods. So he ignored the borders and instead trotted with his body half over them. Almost as if to tempt fate.  Aint nothing stopping him still messing with wolves while he was a free man so mess with them he would.

RE: Catch me if you can - Shrike Redleaf - November 12, 2016

This was not okay.

There was a lone wolf traipsing along their borders- not directly crossing over the borders and into the pack's territory, but the way he barely skimmed the periphery made Shrike angry. This was likely what Peter's murderer had done- and maybe even Lucy's kidnapper had done the same thing before he had trespassed. Though the pups in the pack weren't exactly kidnappable by now, he knew better than to simply let a loner go along the borders as this one was. Any sane lone wolf knew that borders were to be given a good deal of space in order to avoid provoking negative attention. Shrike had picked up the scent and had followed along it for a few yards before he broke out into a lope. The fact that the scent continued to trail along the borders hastened his pace.

The loner in the distance was dark, and was moving along at a brisk trot, looking as happy as could be and that did not bode well with Shrike who couldn't figure out for the life of him why a loner would do this. He called out with a loud bark to catch the stranger's attention, perhaps tip him off and send him running away from the pack as he closed in on the swarthy stranger. If he ran, he'd be given a good chase, to remind him why traipsing so close to a pack's borders- and continuously so- was not a good idea. And if he resisted, Shrike would deal with him accordingly.

RE: Catch me if you can - Onai - November 12, 2016

Onai's attention was grasped when a loud and somewhat angry bark could be heard from behind him. He stopped dead in his tracks and a sly and twisted smile crawled across his maw. Time to have some fun. He mused. He turned tail the smile resting on his lips. "Oh heeeyy, I didn't see you there," he stated with a vile and sarcastic tone.

He was probably having way too much fun with this and was probably asking to be killed. Though he wouldn't let it get that far, he had other plans. Plans that did not involve his death. He just wanted to see how far he could take this before he would be forced to give in and leave.

RE: Catch me if you can - Shrike Redleaf - November 12, 2016

Sarcasm. That was enough to push Shrike off the edge. This was not an innocent passerby, this was someone looking to tempt them, to test the strength of the pack. Shrike's head lowered and he was lured into battle mode, pushing himself into a faster pace so that he could finish up the last bit of distance between them and give the male what he'd just eanred- a solid boot in the rear. Not literally, though, of course, as Shrike wasn't much good at kicking, as he'd disovered when he'd tried kicking apples at Elwood in play. Shrike was going to try to either bully this male to the ground and pin him until he screamed, or send him yelping off into the neutral territory. Either way, he would not back down.

He called out, a gruff and angry note, so that any packmates nearby could hear, but at the moment it was simply himself and the loner and he would take him on by himself. He charged, jaws snapping and releasing a vicious snarl. He slowed his pace so the stranger couldn't easily side-step and get out of the way, as he might have done had Shrike blindly charged him. He'd slowed down to a jog just lengths away from the male, but did not hesitate to move forward, chin down but jaws snapping as he aimed straight for the male's face.

RE: Catch me if you can - Onai - November 12, 2016

Onai watched as the wolf began to charge angrily towards him and Onai fake pouted. "Hey now thats not very nice," he said still very heavy sarcasm in his voice before the smile returned to his face as jaws came snapping at his face. Fine you don't want to play nice neither will I. He mused as he to joined in the snapping teeth hoping to make contact with face or shoulder which exactly he hadn't intially decided letting out his very own growl.

RE: Catch me if you can - Shrike Redleaf - November 13, 2016

The additional sarcasm was enough to solidify Shrike's opinion that this male was bad news on their borders, and that it was his job to fend him off. Overall, his opponent was a handsome rogue, fit and healthy, with an inky black pelt that did brandish battle scars like medals of valour. This male was obviously one who'd enjoyed picking fights, and had been dealt his share of wounds to show for it. His eyes were unlike any colour Shrike could place- not sky blue, nor the blue of a mountain lake, too vivid and sharp. Shrike had only seen a bluebird once in his life, and its plumage was the closest thing he could liken to the blue of Onai's eyes. Currently, though, all Shrike could see was darkness.

The two met face-to-face, snapping and snarling, the dark male's teeth grazing Shrike's muzzle and drawing blood that drizzled down into his mouth, turning his tongue and teeth red. Facial wounds were insignificant, (so long as no one lost an eye like mom always said would happen) and wouldn't really cause too much harm. As the dark male aimed for Shrike's shoulder, Shrike did the same, aiming slightly lower to the crook of the male's jaw, hoping to grab him in the tender spot there and sink his teeth in.

RE: Catch me if you can - Onai - November 13, 2016

Onai growled and ignored the pain as the pack wolf's jaws made contact with his lower jaw. It caught Onai off guard in respects to how close it was to his precious precious neck that contained the means required to live. He couldn't afford to lose his life to this fight. Too much waiting for him beyond this fight.

Onai quickly recovered and began to snap attempting to make contact with a shoulder or the side of his face but contact missed as Onai lost his footing slightly. What the hell was going on? He had not been travelling that long surely his skills could not be rusty already. Gosh he needed to find more people to fight.  Onai managed to slide in another sarcastic taunt. "Oh come on I was just messin with you," he joked before letting a laugh rumble low in his chest as he tried to angle himself into a better position.

RE: Catch me if you can - Shrike Redleaf - November 13, 2016

Shrike clenched fur and skin between his teeth, and squeezed his jaws together as a warning- though he'd not grabbed the male by the throat, he'd come close enough to make his point. He was serious- this loner needed to leave their lands or he would teach him a sincere lesson. He sidestepped neatly when the dark stranger attempted to snap back at him, releasing the male in the process, but sure enough it was worth the move- the stranger's teeth clicked together, catching only air and no fur or skin on Shrike. He glared at the dark stranger and snarled. "Last warning. Leave our packlands now." He said, before he lunged forward again.

This time he angled himself differently and aimed for the tender flesh at Onai's flank- not a lethal move by any means, but one that was painful enough should it be landed that he hoped it would cause Onai to give up and run away. He was simply trying to herd the male away from the packlands rather than endangering his own life with a deadly to-the-death battle. No, he'd rather be like Wesley, and fight to-the-pain.

RE: Catch me if you can - Onai - November 13, 2016

Onai growled in response to Shrikes commands to leave the lands. He wouldn't concede. Not yet. Not without some real fight. Onai lunged for Shrikes shoulder once more having regained proper footing but unfortunately Shrike was quick to move and lunge his own way causing Onai to just barely graze the surface of Shrike's skin.

Onai was getting more and more frustrated not just by this fight but by his inability to land a single hit on a wolf he should have no trouble tackling. Onai pulled himself away from Shrikes jaws. Not today mister. he mused in his head.

RE: Catch me if you can - Shrike Redleaf - November 13, 2016

Though the other male seemed larger, he was quick on his feet and shifted his flank out of Shrike's reach so that Shrike snapped his jaws together and felt a trickle of pain surge through his jaw upon having closed them around nothing. He recovered quickly, though, in time to leap out of Onai's grasp when those sharp fangs came in for a bite at his shoulder. He growled in a low, rumbling tone, as though offended Onai would even try to touch him. Neither were landing many hits, and save for the small cut on Shrike's muzzle and the wounds about Onai's jawline, both were still in good form.

He would have to try harder, and land a serious hit so that he could fend Onai off. Lowering his jaw, he snaked his head low and lunged forward, aiming to grab the same spot he'd grabbed earlier, just below Onai's jawbone. If it had worked once, it might work again, and double the pain.

RE: Catch me if you can - Onai - December 08, 2016

Onai was growing to be quite frustrated as it seemed the two were either evenly matched or Onai was seriously out of game. This was posing to be a tougher fight than he intended it to be but he was still determined not to give in. He wasn't one to lose fights but he was one to know when he was not going to win with his life and he played the careful balance between fighting and trying to stay alive.

He believed there was still plenty to see in this world and he had a sister to find so no matter what he would live through this fight. Even if it meant....giving up. When jaws came flying towards his neck he couldn't quite draw away fast enough and jaws hit the same spot as it had pryor causing Onai to cringe in pain though not a sound was heard. Only his eyes closed for a moment before making a somewhat blind lunge at the pack wolfs shoulder/neck region.

I gave you that hit because rolling seems not to be on our side, and besides he will probably give in soon :P

RE: Catch me if you can - Shrike Redleaf - December 13, 2016

While he had made contact with the male's jawline, teeth grazed at his shoulder mildly, though the fur and skin there was thick enough to protect Shrike from suffering any real damage, and Onai wouldn't have been able to pull away enough, in Shrike's grip, to make proper contact. Growling and shaking himself loose from his own grip and out of the male's grip once more, he stepped back a few paces and squared his feet, tail once more flagging over his haunches; he had had it with this male, who had so blatantly ignored his warning, and wanted him off the packlands.

Ducking his head low, he charged the male again, this time aiming for his flank in hopes that one more charge might make the male turn tail and run away, leaving them to peace at last. His jaws snapped viciously, and he meant business this time- if his warning was ignored once more, he'd send up a call for other pack members and then begin to attack with the intent to kill.

RE: Catch me if you can - Onai - December 20, 2016

Onai yelped as yet another hit landed on his flank this time leaving deep grazes on his side his head snapped briefly round to assess the wound.  He couldn't keep up like this. Clearly the two were evenly matched but this time the other was winning. It seems you can't win every battle you fight.

He did not however submit search he turned to leave, his large paws carried him full speed away glancing back briefly to make sure the other hadn't taken chase.  He was not about t get himself killed but he didn't want the other to feel to confident either. So tail high the male ran.

RE: Catch me if you can - Shrike Redleaf - December 28, 2016

While the stranger did not run away yelping with his tailbetweenhislegs , he did turn and run, and Shrike chased him for a short distance, snapping his jaws together in a display of aggression until he felt the stranger was far enough away and would not turn back. In a huff, Shrike strode back to the borders on stiff legs, tail curled above his back indignantly; he was proud he had been able to defend the borders from such a man, who might have done harm to the younger wolves of the pack. While fighting was not Shrike's strong point, he was quite glad he'd been able to muster enough strength to fend off the offending stranger and keep his home safe.
