a hundred thousand colours - Anatha - December 13, 2016

@Elohim perhaps?
she shifted, wakefulness coming slowly, yawning widely, she rolled onto her belly, blissfully warm and content and full and perfectly situated into the everyday routine that was life. And then, without and warning of any kind, her eyes, useless things that she had been somewhat aware of but up until this point more or less ignore, did something.

Lights and colour and shape suddenly flooded her senses, and she gave a startled squeak, flopping onto her side, unsure of how or why this sudden change to her life had come about. She adapted quickly, however, and rolled back onto her belly, blinking and testing out this new sight, maw slightly agape in amazement,  producing small, happy sounds at this new development.

Elohim slept soundly, his dreams full of the sensations of when he nursed and the the large thing caressing him. He was jarred from this dream by the squeak one of the others, one of the ones who had felt before there was good warm smell. He jerked awake with a startled whine that fell slowly into soft grunts of displeasure. He too was expirincing something new! Suddenly there were more than sounds, suddenly there were blurry things. He turned his head fitfully one way then the other, unsure what the things were.

He noticed that there was a wall nearest him, and it was the wall that gave off the warm good smell. He knew if he wiggled closer he would find a place to fill his mouth with it. And then his eyes turned on other shapes, the smaller shapes. One that was sleeping unbothered by the commotion, and another that was making soft noises. He blinked at the one making noises and whined, though his eyes found it hard to focus and stay open.

He decided this new thing was nice, much easier than simply following the smells. He still couldn't form words, but he gave a satisfied grunt.

there were things, she noticed, blobs of shape and colour and light. There were beside her a small such lump, and before her another, and these interested her for a time as her noises died down. But the thing that most interested the girl was the light. The light, she would come to find, represented the unknown, the outside, that there to be explored. The light was made all the brighter by the white if the snow that reflected the fire of the sun. Entranced, she begun to move, wiggling toward the light in awe, a pull unarmed pulling her closer to the Unknown.

Suddenly the thing that was making noises was wiggling and squirming. He felt a sudden sense of fear and wonder. What was that? He cried a high peeping noise at it, as if to demand that it identify itself. It was crawling toward the spot that hurt him so that he had to turn his head and make the world go dark. He attempted to stare at it a few times and found the light was better after a few glimpses. He still didn't much care for it, and found himself upset that the other moving crying thing was moving towards it.

He gave a higher pitched squeak, then began to wiggle towards the thing that moved. He didn't want it to call down the hurting bright spot. If it got closer, wouldn't it hurt more? Didn't the other lump think?! He moved angrily towards the lump, determined to stop this foolishness. Thankfully he had a shorter distance to travel and soon was not far from touching this thing. He gave a roar of displeasure, which came out more a loud whine than anything.

There was a feeling she had never before felt aching behind her optics, and it's uncomfortableness had her squint her optics shut in instinct, and she wondered at the feeling called pain. Thus her adventure toward the Unknown was abruptly ended, though perhaps it may have resumed should she have become aware of another behind her.

his whines was not heard due to the fact that her ears had yet to become unstuck from the side of her head, though she certainly could see him. Cautiously peeling her eyes open once more as she twisted to see him better, she gave a small coo as she beheld the dark lump, it's outlines vague yet somewhat distinguishable. She crawled at full speed toward the lump, and if she should reach it she would do her absolute best to sit atop it.

During his chase after the foolish lump, he watched it stop and seem to understand that the brightness was not good. He slowed and issued a contented huff, watching with squinted eyes as she turned to look back at him. He attempted to give a haughty look, one that might say I told you so if that were a phrase he understood.

The other lump issued a coo and began to wiggle furiously back towards him. For a moment he basked in this new feeling that rose within him, a feeling of being right. And then suddenly he realized the other lump had no intention of stopping. He cried his protest and pushed his paws out towards the thing, though admittedly his depth perception was awful. His tried to push it's face away, flailing before himself as best he could. Should he succeed in touching it he would attempt to climb it and rest on it to prove the further foolishness of attacking such a dignified being as himself.

her plans were foiled rather quickly, for paws shoved her away from sitting atop her intended perch, and to her surprise she found herself being sat upon. She stilled, not quite sure what to make of the present situation. She found herself feeling a little squashed, but not entirely uncomfortable, and thus she deemed herself fine with being sat upon.

her jaws sought ought a paw, and she attempted to wrap her gums around the thing, for she had fond that chewing on things was a rather enjoyable pastime.
