Dashing through the snow - Spring - December 28, 2016 A strong winter breeze shuffled through her fur, snow falling to the ground and sparkling uop her fur in a light dusting. A shiver ran through her body as she walked through the crisp snow, headed to the borders. For even in this type of weather she had to make sure that the borders were checked on, so that's where she was headed now. Upon arriving at the borders, she did her best to remark Silver Creek's territory over a span of some hours, but still she was more than sure she would probably have to do it all again pretty soon with all the snow. RE: Dashing through the snow - Seff - December 28, 2016 In simplest terms, the blizzard had been not fun. That night, cold and hungry and with the wind whopping around them, they had ultimately come to the decision that theti ought to ride out the worst of the winter, surely to come now, somewhere safe. And while before they had passed by packs without a care, Seff had led the little group to the first hint of borderlines he had found, attempting to ignore his stinging ears. The whipping cold had done them no favour, and while his thick fur had protect most of his body, his ears had become subject to frostbite. he walked near Freyja, glancing occasionally too to Hvit. His head was hung lower than it ought to be, and hunger was a keen blade within him. Freyja did amazing hunting for the trio, but with his less than fabulous hunting skills and the load of feding three growing children, it was hardly enough. a figure became apparent, and stilling his paws and lifting his stance to a more respectable position, he called out a chuffing of greeting, scenting easily now the scent markers of a pack before them. RE: Dashing through the snow - Freyja - December 28, 2016 They had been pushed to their limits and despite her pride, Freyja knew that they needed help. Falling in alongside her companion, Freyja did her best to hold on and push through. She pushed herself close to Seff, their sides almost touching, so that she could be guided through the storm. She looked her side on more than an occasion to see how Hvitserk was doing. After what felt like an eternity, the silhouette of a figure loomed in the distance as the strong scent of a pack drifted in her general direction. Pausing as Seff did, Freyja lifted her head and perked her ears to examine just who stood before them. Though she didn't hold her breath in that moment, the grey-scaled girl did wonder if they had stumbled upon a pack and if perhaps this wolf was apart of said pack. RE: Dashing through the snow - Hvitserk - December 30, 2016 Snow sucked.
The farther they traveled and the colder it got, the more he realized just how awful winter was. Though the thickness of his fur took a bit of the edge off, it had never been enough to offer him anything close to comfort. And though he’d tried to stay close to his sister at all times, to both lend her his heat and borrow from hers, he’d fallen behind on more than one occasion. Always was she pressed so closely to Seff, so he worried little about her own well-being—so little, actually, that he’d been able to feel jealous. Not of Freyja, but of the new male in her life; Hvit had convinced himself that there was a risk of him stealing her away, and so he’d always caught up again after falling behind. Never had he paid as much attention to his sisters as he had her, for she was the one that had always been there for him and vice versa. So, despite how uncomfortable and cold their journey had made him, he’d always stayed close when he could, having yet to utter a single word.
When the couple had stopped, Hvitserk had taken the opportunity to move up along the side opposite of the one Seff was on. There he’d stood, looking first at his sibling, and then out towards the silhouette. Leery, his ears fell flat against his head and the fur along his spine bristled, but not a sound left his mouth. He’d leaned closer to Freyja unconsciously, watching and waiting, feeling especially protective.
RE: Dashing through the snow - Spring - December 30, 2016 Silhouettes in the blizzard caught her attention, along with a chuff of greeting, though from whom she could not tell. For a moment she stood at the borders uncertain, but then remembered that with winter coming, they'd need all the new members they could get. So with that she began to slowly make her way towards them, her tail flagged in domiance, waving in the wind. As she got closer to them, some feet away, she began to realize something... while they looked older, they did not appear fully grown. Children. Her heart softened at the thought of three pups having to stand out this blizzard by themselves. She let out a friendly chuff, and then let out a loud bark against the raging blizzard all around them. "What brings you here? Do you wish to join?" RE: Dashing through the snow - Seff - January 05, 2017 "We do" came the boy's reply, after a short pause in which he glanced toward his companions. He had never before sought to join a pack, and thus he was unsure about the proceedings. The way his ears and paw pads burned with frostbite had him all the more eager to seek shelter, along with the fact that he felt a certain protectiveness over his two companions. He looked toward Freyja a moment, attempting to hold her gaze quickly, then allowing his optics to dart it Hvitserk before falling back on Spring once again, nervousness and urgency welling up in his stomach. "We were traveling together...and not prepared for the blizzard." He admitted with a slight dip of his head, gaze focused firmly on the woman before them. RE: Dashing through the snow - Freyja - January 12, 2017 Despite their best intentions, they still were not good enough. Finding herself with a heavy heart at that moment, despite the hope that lingered on the horizon, Freyja remained silent in the stranger’s approach. Instead of speaking, she allowed her gaze to shift from her brother to Seff before settling her eyes onto the alpha before them. Keeping close to both of the men, Freyja’s ducked her head in turn of Spring’s words, and she sighed gently, feeling the gravity of this moment. Despite her pride, she knew that they could not deny shelter. They were far too inexperienced to brave the Winter, especially in this storm. "Yes," she agreed, bringing her eyes to Seff once more as she aligned her words with what he had offered. "Honestly, if we stay out here, we'll die." Though she was usually not one for dramatics, Freyja felt that it was utterly necessary at that moment. RE: Dashing through the snow - Hvitserk - January 26, 2017 SORRY FOR THE WAIT, AHH. If I take too long in the future, you guys can totally just skip me. ♥ A voice that had never before filled his ears was heard, encouraging him to look towards the owner. He kept his ears back, uncertain and knowing not whether the stranger was to be trusted. Hvit stared at the woman for as long as he was able, having glanced away only twice—once to look at Seff, and then again to look at his sister. He followed the voices, directing his attention towards the wolf speaking each time a response was given. Rather than weighing in on the conversation, he, of course, kept his mouth shut and simply observed. Wherever Freyja went, he would follow, which he’d intended to make clear by shifting closer to her.
RE: Dashing through the snow - Spring - January 26, 2017 She gave a smal nod of understanding at their words, her eyes drifting over each one of them. While she could see that they were still pups, they appeared to be almost at the nine month mark, when they could join the ranks of Silver Creek. Even at this age though she supposed that they could be able to pull their weight and help the pack. "You are welcome to join my pack, all three of you, as long as you are able to help out by marking borders or practicing trades. Medic and mercenary trades for instance would be very helpful... but anyways, welcome to Silver Creek. Feel free to find yourselves a den to reside at or do some exploring." Then she was quiet, waiting for a response from any of them before she let them come into her territory. |
